Cancelling again, I reluctantly booked Reuckl to maintain consistency in care for my knee. I'm not really fond of him, however, I've made a commitment to wellbeing. In reporting 3 previous experiences (and last) I find him consistently dismissive, condescending, never prompt, and often made to wait a half hour, as was the case again this week. Reuckl, is a self proclaimed former paid comedian. On his eventual grand entrance into the treatment room, he tossed out a few jokes then volleyed a barrage of questions as to why I was there. Doh! He constantly dissed my answers one by one and felt pressured to continuously rephrase my answers. This is unacceptable. Known explicitly for clear communication in my own line of work, I never once felt heard or acknowledged while communicating with him. Because of this behavior, I had switched to Rachel months ago and found immediate compassionate, professional, coherent and responsive treatment. We clicked and did good work together. Lately she's dealing with her own medical and travel agenda and often unavailable. I'm an innately kind, patient person and gravitate to the healing arts because they traditionally offer more consciousness. I have fantastic connections in massage, chiropractic and physical therapy. I seek quality, compassion and professional services. Mutual respect is important to me. As a professional in the public sphere as well, I have honed people skills and make a point to offer respect and generally accept people where they're at in the given moment. Meeting with Reuckl once again after the lengthy wait, I navigated through more precious time of what I felt emerged as downright attempts of mental abuse. I was led down a rabbit hole of cross examination, and at every corner, was dissed for my responses for over another 30 minutes. I never felt heard or respected. In feeble attempts to joke, he made fun of a newly prescribed blood pressure machine I brought in, and said 'We won't use yours, mine is better'. That may or may not have been true, however I feel professional etiquette just got tossed out the window right there. Regarding the locale of the knee pain, he asked specifically 5 times where the pain in my knee was. I answered each question to the best of my ability. He still didn't seem satisfied and continued to ask the same question over and over again. We talked Blood Pressure. At one point he threw down a folder violently on a nearby table. This is not healthy professional behavior. Concerning what is no more than a 5x 5 sq. in. knee circumference, it's his job to figure out how to treat the area holistically, not mine. I can communicate where the general pain is coming from, but specifically it does radiate. Poor thing wasn't satisfied with my answers. Objectively speaking, intuitive and calming he was not. During the dreaded session I fully regret making, I witnessed this man displaying two types of personality, initially vacillating from joking to aggressive forms of interrogation that morphed into absolutely no respect for my communications, second guessing everything I was experiencing and relaying. He KNEW darn well the operation I had, and he KNEW the locale of injury, because it was in his notes. He has treated it before. Eventually, the ego based mental gymnastics and semantics were not making me feel safe or honored as a client. Something definitely seemed very wrong here. Why, at 4pm was I not on the table getting treatment for a 3 o'clock appt on issues he was well familiar with? Finally I stopped the games, I loudly objected, expressing he was condescending and dismissive, asked for my 100.00 back and expressed that I was very upset. On leaving, he verbally accepted what he called 'my criticism', rather than acknowledge the stressful experience with him and what we could do to improve the connection. He never offered an apology or provided a path for treatment. I never had my session. Lastly, it appears that he offers selective care for those he likes. I guess I'm not one of them. As a relatively new patient, I've said or done nothing to deserve this. They hardly even know me there. I was referred by Soul Spa in Reno, and they will definitely be hearing about my experience. Because of this unprofessionalism, Dr. Rachel has also lost a client. I wouldn't recommend this man to an animal, let alone a human being. I feel it's an opportunity to share my experience for those seeking acupuncture treatment, helping to avoid emotional harm, as well as find someone who is far more ethical, stable, professional, fairly priced and genuine. He told me nothing. I thought the stuff was for GURD. After the Nevada Board talked with him he called me and said the pouches were for my shoulder. That was news to me. Then he mailed me a handwritten note that just dad about 4 ingredients in the pouch. I didn't have any idea what any of the ingredients were or what they did. My bad was I mixed the stuff with water and drank it. In My amazement I am still alive and have no idea what that stuff was or if it made any difference. If you need an acupuncture person I would find one that talked with you and discusses your problem and advises you what they will do to help you with your problem. I saw the reviews on here, which are obviously old (2018) and slim (4) but Dr. Park is a really unique Dr. in Reno and we are lucky to have him, unfortunately, he's close to retirement, so if you have anything going on contact him asap. I didn't know that seeing him, I was actually wondering if he was still open, but I was seeking relief for what I will call an EXTREME PAIN chronic condition that I know is temporary but chronic in that I have been dealing with for over 1 month, it's basically a pain that starts in my hip and can everything from nothing to the extreme pain, stretching, exercise, etc. nothing helps as it's nerve pain. When it fires I cannot even sit down (sleep) without pain, to make a long story short, I have seen emergency room x2, my MD of western medicine, and my Chiro who knows muscle testing, and I got no relief except a band-aid type of relief, and which was super short term, not what you want in EXTREME PAIN! Well, I had my best day on Thursday and I only saw him 2x before starting on Tuesday at 4 PM with Thursday was appt 3, I have more appts and believe that he will cure this unusual situation that is occurring, as even today I am having a decent day, it's seriously a life-changing experience! I cannot recommend him higher due to where I was at and where I am at now and where I think I will be soon (back to normal)! I just updated the review to 3 stars, I had really good success going from horrific pain to an improvement that was amazing, but visits 4-11, didn't bear as much fruit, the biggest reason for 3 stars is his tables are very uncomfortable, I was bringing my own Yoga Pad to lay down. which helped but even than laying there still ends up hurting my body. The other thing he would prescribe herbs (small packets to add to water) as part of the treatment, he started giving me less than the days to next visit, I very friendly said, oh, I'm not going to see you for 5 days, and I only have 3 days of herbs, he abruptly and callously told me I needed to pay more money to get more herbs. I was paying out of pocket for him, he's out of network on my insurance, he doesn't even bill insurance, so I thought about it heavily and just didn't feel I could see any longer, weighing everything and how the last conversation was initiated by me, and I didn't feel like he cared, and if I am in treatment, he should want me to get better, and not play some games, what's strange he went from 3 packets a day to 2 a day, and then would only give me 6, which is 3 days. Also, he won't tell you what's in the herbs, I really think this is unprofessional, it's like some secret he's going to guard with his life, WTF? It's herbs, that he supposedly customizes for the patient, it seems odd that he wouldn't give at least the most important ones. He didn't even care that he cut the herbs out of days before I would see him, and it was my treatment plan, that he was denying me, and not even talking to me, about the lack of treatment on those days I would be out. I believe caring is a huge part of treating patients as well as efficient communication, so 3 stars for helping alleviate my pain which was extreme, and that happened within 3 visits and I am thankful. But I am now regretting treatments 4-11, which really didn't do much, and there didn't seem to be an end in sight, and the new shakedown, which came out of nowhere, when it was part of treatment just didn't sit well, and I felt I could finish the healing on my own, and so far I am almost there, improving more now not being in his table throwing my body out of whack!

I'm a big fan of Chinese medicine. Reminds me of my youth and living with my grandparents. When I smell the herbs, it reminds me of the bottle that my grandmother had in her rice cabinet in our kitchen. I received acupuncture. Stimulates different points in the body. Once in awhile, you might hit a nerve, like hitting that funny bone in your elbow. Gary Danchak is probably one of the smartest people I've met in his field. He is very thorough and very nice and personable. Today I went back for a family member who unfortunately is still battling the effects of the Vietnam War. We ventured out to pick up some Chinese herbs from Dr. Danchak (aka Gary). Located in South RAC, the parking lot is typically full, but not today, due to COVID-19. South Reno Acupuncture is still open with limited hours and Dr. Danchak can diagnose via photos you send him. He does have patients in his office on a limited schedule.
