She uses all the best treatmnt modalities (if you want) - gua sha, cupping, moxa, e-stim, and of course, the tiny needles that make the magic happen. Yay acupuncture! Oh and herbs/supplements too. She has helped me with neck and back pain, stress, allergies, inflammation...she's in network with my insurance so it's covered with a small copay - which I super duper appreciate! When I arrived, Dr. Jones greeted me in the lobby area with a big, warm smile. She took some time to ask me questions about my health while making me feel comfortable. I didn't really know what to expect during acupuncture, but I loved the experience. The needles were not as intimidating as I thought they would be and after a couple for appointments, I have really felt a difference both mind and body. Like many people, I carry stress in my upper back, neck and shoulders. Dr. Jones asked if I would be interested in cupping to help relieve the tension and support more blood flow to those areas. I was intrigued, especially since I remembered many of the Olympic swimmers using this form of recovery. Through suction, the skin is drawn into the cup by creating a vacuum using heat. The cup is then placed on the skin over the targeted area. You do feel a little tug from the suction, but it's not painful. When the cups are pulled off it makes a little popping noise and it feels oddly satisfying. I immediately felt a difference in my shoulders and upper back. My back looked funny with all the circular, red marks, but they went away within a week. If you've ever wanted to try cupping, do it. It's amazing!
