My Atlanta Orthopaedic doctor put me on oral medication and PT and said to return if the numbness progressed and he would schedule an epidural. Several of my golfing friends have gone down the route of epidurals, ablations and some have resorted to surgery. I was hesitant to go down that rabbit hole because it felt like I was masking the problem and not addressing the issues. A friend had great success treating her Sciatica with Stem Cells so I started my research. I learned there are SC clinics all over the world. Some focus on specific issues ie auto immune disorders, knees or back issues. What I learned about my spinal issue was it was not one thing that was going to be a magic bullet that would solve the problem. I had my first SC injection in Feb 2026. That philosophy is what led Dr. H to restorative and integrative medicine and what lead me to her. I am 6 months out from my initial stem cell treatment and I feel stronger than ever. When I saw my current xrays the 1st thing I said was "this is going to take time to get right". Having had whip lash from a car accident, falling on my head from an attack of vertigo and who knows what other assault and injury over the years messed up my spine (I'm a very active person). As they say, "time takes a toll". Vertigo attacks had become more frequent. Xrays showed bone spurs on my neck vertebrae, as well as a messed-up curve and not such a great back alignment. Knowing so many people over the years with painful back, leg shoulder, neck etc problems and not getting the proper care, encouraged me to act now. Since I began treatment in October, I haven't had another vertigo attack. What I thought was a shoulder problem which I received months of PT for but still had residual neck pain is gone. It is an investment of time and money. To me it is well worth both. I am in my 70's. If I don't have good health, it will certainly diminish my fun.
