Twice they overcharged me, and they messed up my son's appointment by mixing up his name/DOB with someone else's and then we had to wait around 45 minutes to be seen because they had to change the appointment time because of their mistake. You couldn't pay me to ever set foot in this office again. Kody has no business working with other humans, and the front office is completely incompetent.

After double bypass open heart surgery (CABG) at EIRMC performed by Dr. Riveron with assistance from Logan Cutts, normally the cardiologist would do followup, but Dr. Riveron was a visiting physician helping out for a week. I had the pleasure of having Logan Cutts do my followup for the next ten weeks. The first post hospital followup had Logan enter the room, glance at his notes, and say "Lose 20 pounds." Not a suggestion, a statement. His kind, but blunt statements were impactful and effective. (I've lost 25 pounds since then.) I had significant blood pressure issues after that and Logan adjusted my bp meds to keep it in line. He also advised me on cardiac rehab, saying I should delay it until other rehab could be done. His manner was friendly, informative, and calming during a tough time. While in the hospital, I heard many times - "Logan? Everyone knows and likes Logan!" After ten weeks, I had found and had one visit with my new cardiologist (my previous one had retired), so Logan passed me on giving me best wishes and continued health. It was a great heart followup experience!

Any time I need a referral, prescription refill, or follow-up communication, it takes multiple phone calls and several days--sometimes longer. It's become a consistent issue, which is incredibly frustrating when managing ongoing health needs. Every time I raise the concern, I'm told the delay is due to the pharmacy. However, other members of my family--who use the exact same pharmacy--never experience these issues. It's pretty clear the problem doesn't lie with the pharmacy. I truly value my doctor and will continue seeing him, but I hope the office takes steps to improve the efficiency and accountability of their support processes. Patients shouldn't have to chase down basic care needs after leaving the exam room.

I changed primary care physicians a couple of years ago because my PCP left the practice. A few…read morepeople recommend Dr. Shane Machen, but one friend told me that both she and her 89 year old father's experiences with him were NOT GOOD. Boy oh boy, do I wish I had listened when she warned me away from Dr. Machen. I am 65 years old and never in my life have I been treated so disrespectfully and rudely by a medical provider. To be fair, the first two appointments with him were fine. My husband's appointment with him was fine. But today's appointment was awful. I left very much shaken by his behavior, which was unprofessional and extremely rude at best, and borderline brutish at worst. We were discussing a particular medical issue, and he quickly landed on what he thought was the cause and recommended a course of action that I did not believe fit my symptoms, and that would not work for me because I am a whole-food plant-based vegan. When I told him I was vegan his response was "you're taking this vegan thing way too far!" 4 1/2 years ago I adopted this lifestyle because my kidneys were failing and I was headed towards dialysis and/or a kidney replacement. With the encouragement of my Nephrologist I made dietary changes, and my kidney function has nearly doubled, plus most of my bloodwork results improved quite dramatically (A1C, CRP, GFR ...)! The doctors and NPs at the kidney center have been exceptionally kind and encouraging and applauded me for taking my health seriously and learning and applying a new way of eating to significantly improve my health. But, according to Dr. Machen, I am taking it "way too far". Never have I ever had a Dr. attempt to shame me for dietary choices that are clearly working, for asking questions and advocating for myself, and for doing the right things for my health. There were more harsh and disrespectful things he said to me during today's appointment (which I have documented elsewhere), but this review is getting far too long so I will wrap it up. I will end by saying that if you want a doctor who CONSISTENTLY provides good care, someone who listens and allows you to ask questions that may be challenging for them but who treats you respectfully nonetheless, and who is capable of putting their ego aside to provide kind and compassionate care, then I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO GO ELSEWHERE.

I'd been bring her service dog with us and now with me because any change in her routine would be harmful to her. She was my wife's service dog for twelve+ years. I could see a problem if she was a large dog but she only weighs in at 7 pounds. She sits on a chair and very quiet and now they decided after almost two years she is no longer welcome. Time to make a change. I will miss everyone there, but then again something's going on, all new front end staff, not at all as friendly as in the past.
