It…read morewas a chilly 50° when my son and I headed out from Murrells Inlet public launch ramp with Capt. Ned. We were on, I believe, about a 30 foot boat which would hold 6 fishermen plus crew. Capt. Ned is a native here and has been fishing these waters his entire life. He is very knowledgeable and personable. He took the time to watch and assist us with hints on improving our fishing style or lack there of! The water was a bit rough with 4 - 5 foot swells, so we were really rocking. But he tried a couple of his favorite spots and set us up to minimize the waters attempt to make us become chum buckets. Then the Black Drum fish started hitting. We also got a Red Drum fish but had to throw it back because it was too big, it is a breeder. We also got a nice Seatrout. Overall, it was a great trip with a nice catch (see pics) and a really good captain. Will definitely go out with them agsin.

You can board the boat up to 90mins prior to leaving which they refer to as happy hour- however, do not be misled as there is no happy hour although you can order when you board. You will also have assigned seat. The seating is very close together and not that comfortable. The first experience in October wasn't as crowded and was a little cooler so I'd advise to bring extra layers because of the wind and since it will be dark on way back. The drinks were not strong at all and I could not taste any liquor. We were also seated on opposite side that did not face sunset although you get the view regardless, it was crowded trying to get any pictures. We wanted to return in the summer for the experience and it was crowded, however, I'd say we lucked out with seats at the end which is most ideal because as I said, they are so close together. Again, drinks were not that strong.. I am always drawn to order the mixed drinks but end of saying I should have gotten wine or beer as at least I know whats in it. It's definitely for tourists but it's be nice if they changed things up, particularly with the music, it's a bit cheesy and repetitive.. and it was the same in October and August. The ride is actually long and I even feel it could be cut shorter if it was more comfortable and spacious experience.

This was my first experience on the Gulf Stream and his second in over 5yrs. We owe our entire experience to the professionalism, dedication, and fun had with the "Party time" boat: Captain Parker and Lucas. Fun…read moreentertainment for kids with Pirate Pootie who kept the kids busy and entertained with all the antics a pirate could get into and fun jokes only the parents "got". There is face painting and options to purchase swords, spy glasses, hats, head scarfs and eye patches before leaving the dock. (Parents are informed they can grab a cold beverage from Dead Dog Salon bar to bring onboard.) There is no food or restrooms offered onboard so take care of that before you go. Once the little pirates are onboard and the cruise down the creek begins the kids are given instructions on talking like a pirate and their jobs onboard. There are water canons for blasting when Pirate Pete tries to steal the treasure, flags to hoist, and grobe for toasting. The boat never leaves site of land and mostly just floats around a small area of the creeks behind The Marsh Walk. No worries about being seasick or going into the ocean. A very fun and calm ride. We intended to do the sunset cruise but there wasn't enough tickets sold for that trip so we were changed the day before to a 2:30 trip. Every pirate leaves the ship with a handful of treasure to take home. As soon as we got back to the dock our grandson (7 yrs old) excitedly asked when we could go again! A fun family activity I recommended for all ages.
