Conveniently located, inexpensive, clean place to stay in Barcelona. Here's the rundown:
Positives:
Cheap! I paid €12 for a 6-bed dorm bed.
Great location, near Plaça de Catalunya and bars, restaurants, grocery stores
Quiet hostel. There were a number of people staying long term, not so many party people when I stayed here.
There are big common/dining areas on the 2nd & 3rd floors.
Negatives:
No hand soap nor hand towels in the bathrooms.
There is only one stove on the 3rd floor so around dinner time, it was crowded with people preparing dinner; unfortunately the microwave on the 3rd floor doesn't work so you had to use the one on the 2nd floor.
Wi-fi was very slow at night.
Hostel charges €2 for luggage storage after checkout. No charge, however, if you leave your luggage before check-in.
Usually at hostels you can hang out after check-out. Here the cleaning lady firmly tells you will be charged €5 if you stay don't leave. I saw her say the same thing to another guest the day I checked-in. I understand it's their policy, but it just leave a really bad impression before leaving the hostel. read more
