They were happy with their process, so being a first time home shopper I did not know where to start. Spoiler alert: look for a realtor on your own. At first, dealing with the realtor was not bad. They got a bunch to look at, which were mostly run down and needed way too much work. Mind you, these were 150,000 to 175,000 houses in the Liverpool area. We wanted to look at a house, which was for sale by owner and a mile from Balance Realty. Somehow they did not know that was for sale, even being listed on multiple sites? Mistakes happen, houses get missed. Ended up going with this particular house and the process was anything but smooth. The farther along we got into the process, the more frustrating it got to work with the realtor. The lack of knowledge was a main issue. Being first time home hunters, we had many questions. Did not have many answers and no real attempt to find out an answer. Our biggest gripe is when we had an issue pertaining the house, the realtor would always go on the defensive for the home owners. Since they had known each other for some years, it may have seemed like we were attacking. Numerous times I was told to make calls because "they would not answer me". From everyone I spoke to about home buying, they never had to do any of that. The lack of communication was another HUGE deal. Besides not getting many answers, we did not get many replies at all. I feel like it could have been better. All in all, I would not recommend this place to buy a house. Maybe look for someone who will make the time for you.

Hunt Real Estate in Syracuse NY was a disaster. I'll never use them again and will never recommend…read morethem to anyone. While trying to close on a home that I was purchasing cash the seller agreed to a $1,800 credit to remedy a Radon issue. But because my Hunt agent never submitted the adendum to the seller and then revealed to the seller's agent a private conversation that we had the seller, just before closing backed out of the credit that he had previously agreed to, costing me $1,800. Also, before closing the house was supposed to be emptied out of all trash and debris left by the previous tenants as agreed to in the contract to purchase, and none of that was done because my agent and Hunt agency did not care to pursue the issue in a timely manner. All in all dealing with Hunt Real Estate in Syracuse NY was a very miserable experience and I would never do it again. Phil Brooks
