The hubs and I arrived first and found a table outside. It was kinda gloomy and it sprinkled for a short bit, but it was totally fine. There's no covering, but I didn't actually mind it. The redbreast we thought was reasonably priced, so ordered quite a few pours. The food, I kinda sampled a bit. It was fine. I like my greens, so I enjoyed the side salad that came with the fish and chips. Our server was wonderful. We were here for almost two hours and she kept the drinks flowing. However, the main problem is that the the flavours and seasonings are not quite right and somehow there is some disharmony on the tongue, but this is purely a subjective opinion. The blutwurst is a classic example it was supposed to be French style but it was too sweet, slightly lumpy and and tasted rather odd. However, this does show that all the food seems to have been prepared in-house which I suppose should be a plus point. The decor is as discordant as the food with several genres from several periods thrown in together somewhat chaotically but it is still pleasant and welcoming. The fact that the place is full also attests to the number of people who like the food here. The service is pleasant and overall, it is a place I might reconsider trying again just in case we had picked the wrong selection. Anyway, if you like an interesting dinner, then Glügk is perhaps not the worst place in Berlin to try.

One person in my party ran the marathon, and needless to say, they were very hungry. Between us, we had ordered the pig knuckles (it was huge - about the size of someone's head), schnitzel, and a meatball dish. All the dishes we had were very reasonably priced for the amount of food it was. We all enjoyed our food, and it seemed like it was a great taste into German food (can't be sure it is authentic since I'm not German myself, but judging by how everyone else in the restaurant was speaking German, I think it wasn't a tourist trap). The ambience of the restaurant was stellar. It was located on a quiet side street near a park, and a bit hard to find since it was off the main roads and was raining the night we went there. The walls of the restaurant were adorned with many old pictures and posters dating back to the 1930s or so. The restaurant had a front room, and also a fairly large back room that isn't immediately obvious when you enter. The whole feeling of the place was one of a historic, quaint old German pub. The feeling was magnified by the fact that the waitress did not speak any English, so you can tell that not many groups of entirely foreigners wandered their way over to here (luckily one member of my party spoke enough German for us to get by). I had a Flammkuchen or tarte flambee, which is a kind of German pizza or flatbread. I had the Popeye, which was spinach and brie.
