Master Colver, Master Trinity and Master Criswell. All three are 4th degree black belts approaching their 5th. They are all patient beyond what most humans can be when it comes to working with children. They are great with kids who have ADHD as well. All are ranked high nationally in sparring in their respectful divisions. Belts are earned here..this is not a black belt factory. They focus on quality, not quantity. Learning self defense, hand and feet techniques, sparing, pomsae and physical fitness. Each belt has its own set of the above to learn and demonstrate with proficiency. Cost is better than most. You pay a monthly tution and it covers all your classes. Come to one or all that are available in your level. However, it is required to attend a min of 2 classes a week to advance in a belt. NWSTKD is part of the Washington United Taekwondo association and trains with the top schools in Washington. Those who are interested in being part of this competition team go through a 3 month audition to show their passion and dedication to being part of this team. They are then invited to join and be an official WUT team member after they have proven themselves. Traveling local, nationally and international to compete and represent Washington. My boys have been with NW for 2 years and LOVE it! I feel like i live here, but that is because I stay for practices (not required). Give them a try. I believe they have trials for you... And as a bonus, parents can train for free with their kids through their yellow belt.

Hands down - very impressed with Master Colver and the NW Sport Staff. We have been researching and…read moreinterviewing Martial Art studios around the east side of Seattle for our son over the past year. What we learned was pretty shocking. Apparently there are many studios that accept children as young as 3 years old. They host large classes of 20+ students where the instructor can is unable to monitor all the children or correct their positions when they are wrong. The children go through the motions picking up and building on bad habits. Some even sponsor day cares and field trips (at a Martial Art studio - ?!) Upon sitting down and speaking with Master Colver and discussing how he conducts his sessions, what he expects of his students and the discipline in which he uses with his students was a breath of fresh air. First of all he explained that children under the age of 5 should not engage in Martial Arts due to their developing growth plates. He broke down and explained the different disciplines of Taekwondo and interviewed us as well to ensure our interest in enrolling our son were for all the right reasons and that our expectations were realistic and in alignment with their philosophy. Next we watched as Master Colver instructed his group of three students. It was almost as if our son was receiving a private lesson. Not only was our son receiving 1:1 attention from a Master, but he was also receiving hands on direction in ensuring his positions were correct, but he was instilling in our son, focus, respect, accountability, and discipline. Even more impressive, is the personal interaction that the NW Sport Staff has given us via FB Messenger. Anytime we have questions, they are quick to respond and even follow up after classes to ask how our son is doing. The personal touch is refreshing and reassuring. With NW Sport - we feel we have finally found a studio where our son will actually properly learn a wonderful form of martial arts and hopefully develop some life long skills that will build not only his confidence and focus, but his mind and spirit. Very impressed and excited to see how our son responds as he builds his experience and skill set with Master Colver as his instructor.

That was until we met Master Kim and Master Santiago!! From our first moment there our family has been made to feel safe, comfortable, and for our son, challenged and proud. We have only been attending for less than a year but I see us being part of the taekwondo family here for many years to come!

The children's classes were interactive, fun and appropriately challenging. The adult classes in wing chun & tai chi were interactive allowing students to replicate routines and techniques and then apply them to new and novel situations. Forms, techniques and weapons are taught on an ongoing basis which allows students to blend their skills and knowledge. Questions asked are promptly answered with explanations and demonstrations. I highly recommend Kung Fu Kwoon and Sifu Jacque for beginning to experienced practitioners of Kung Fu - Wing Chun & Tai Chi. He also teaches Praying Mantis but that is beyond my scope. Try Kung Fu Kwoon out, you won't be disappointed.

Up until he turned 3, it was parent and me classes that I could attend and participate in and my husband was welcome too when he could come! They have taught him great life skills including tumbling safely and amazing listening skills. We recently transitioned to the 3 year old class where I sit outside the class to watch from the sidelines. Thankfully, he did great and listens to the teachers so well! We've been attending almost weekly for about 2 years and we all look forward to going! Teachers Brit and Nina are absolutely amazing with the kids as are all the teachers! We had tried an AGA gymnastics place before this and it was just awful for toddlers. The Little Gym really knows how to make the activities fun and get the kids moving! 10/10 recommend the Little Gym!

My kids were at The Little Gym Everett before we moved to this area and they do more for you than anyting I've seen at GYMagine. My son was by himself in a class, little to no engagement by the coach, lots of down time and wandering around the gym, he was bored and did not learn anything new. My daughter, also did not learn anything new, was more advanced than the others so she was also bored. SO MUCH DOWN TIME. Coaches have no plans, teenagers are running the front desk, no adult supervision, they messed up our schedules not once but five times. The gym is dirty, old equipment, coaches don't start on time, no safety training when kids get hurt (several friends of ours have gotten hurt with no follow up safety), management does not care, late or no answer on messages, phone calls, texts. Would highly recommend you think twice before sending your children here.
