Can't find a better, more sincere and caring doctor in this modern age. He represents the best in medicine

I have been a patient of Dr. Sue's for over 25 years. He is truly the best doctor. If I call within 15 minutes he returns my call and patiently answers any question large or small. He has the best referrals for other specialist and my experience of his referrals have been excellent and they hold Dr. Sue in the highest regard. I am so grateful my health is in such good hands. Great Dr. great man! read more

This is a very sad review to leave and I was absolutely shocked at the conversation with the receptionist. Dr. Sue was my physician for many years in my early 20s, and at that time he was warm, compassionate, and caring. Apparently now it's more "show me the money". Called today to see about generating an appointment as a "new patient" (as I haven't seen him for several years, as I had moved out of state...) and was cut off mid-sentence by the young receptionist who stated that Dr. Sue is not seeing new patients at this time, and if he WERE to make the exception the consultation would be $2000 as he no longer accepts health insurance. While doctors are certainly entitled to make a fantastic living given what they do... I find this kind of communication shameful and jarring. No matter that I'd been a loyal patient for years and was circling back given that the issues were specific to what he had helped me with years ago... And no matter that you're calling a doctors office so you would hope that anybody answering the phone would be compassionate understanding that you're calling for health reasons... It's not like I was trying to order a cappuccino... But his office is literally broadcasting the message that he's not available to loyal patients, AND he has priced himself out of what any normal person could possibly afford to pay since he will not go through insurance - no matter how high end or top-notch! (I have one of the best private insurance companies in the country that has an outstanding reputation and is very generous with doctors and hospitals.) Can YOU afford $2000 for a "consultation" before you've even been seen????? And if that is his fee... why SHARE that if he's not even willing to consider seeing loyal patients? For a general practitioner, not even a specialty? Apparently he now only sees the 1% - ers. Either way it speaks highly of the culture at that office that there was no compassion or interest in the human being calling to speak to a doctor that they are loyal to... It was literally all about the money. Thank you. read more

Wonderful man, wonderful Doctor! Have been going to Doctor Sue in what feels like forever. I remember when his son had just come into his practice. Great young man I would go to either and consider myself lucky. We had to leave because Doc Sue has an up-front fee and stopped taking any Insurance. But IF I could... I would go to Ronald Sue until I leave this earth read more

Amazing. Such a personal service and attention. Always calls toe check in and is very thorough

If I were able to give 500 stars instead of 5 I would. In the words of Tina Turner "He is simply the best, better than all the rest, better than anyone...." Dr. Sue has been my doctor most of my adult life....yes, over 30 years. When I count things to be grateful for, being one of his patients is always on the top of my list. read more

Dr Sue is without a doubt the best Dr I have ever been to and I'm 57! .I was a patient of his for 18 years So caring, so intuitive, friendly. Never rushes you, almost always on time. He has the most amazing bed side manner. I can't recommend him enough. Haven't been in a few years because I moved to the valley and he unfortunately doesn't take insurance. Last time I went he didn't have the membership fee the other reviewers mentioned so I don't know about that. But he is kindest. I've never felt like someone understood and helped me so much with my various health issues over the years. read more

Well I've been a patient for about 25 years and really had no problems. Yeah, it was annoying when you ask for a Prescription refill and they say, "you need to come in," especially when it's something you had for years. So basically they want the extra office visit $. Fast forward to today when I call for a refill and I get from the lovely office staff (they're really terrible and always have been), and I'm told, "you haven't paid the yearly membership fee." Membership fee? Is this something new? Yes, it is! Ok, and how much is it? $800/year! No way! Definitely not going back here. As if it wasn't bad enough when they stopped accepting Medicare and most insurance. This is just an outright insult. It's so sad to see what this "organization" has become read more

I wrote a review many years ago and I wanted to update my review since things have changed in recent years. I have been a patient of Ron Sue for over 35 years. He is the best doctor I have ever had. I know he does not take Medicare or insurance and has an annual fee. I understand why he does this and it is not about making more money. It is about how little Medicare and insurance companies pay for the medical services provided by physicians. When something major goes wrong with your health, you want someone that will be there immediately. I am 66 years old and if I need anything, it takes one phone call or email and I hear from Dr. Sue within minutes. During Covid, he sent emails with the latest medical information. He is worth every Penny that my husband and I pay him. read more

If you get to have Dr Sue as your internist, you will be the healthiest , happiest and most informed you can be. Dr Ron has looked after me for 20 yrs now, and he's as energetic and knowledgeable as ever! You can talk to him about ANYTHING and he will help you. His bedside manner is unmatched, gives you all the time you need and truly cares about you and yours. Vanessa on reception is lovely too, as is John who'll do your vitals. Dr. Ronald Sue is THE most wonderful doctor who has ever cared for me. He has been our doctor for over 10 years and i am so grateful for him. Dr. Sue is what you want in your life for all the obvious reasons. He is so smart and caring and generous, he exceeds all expectations. Professional but with a touch of grace. I don't know that who he is as a person can be learned but I wish they'd give Dr. Sue classes in Medical School. i'd give him 100 stars. He's just that good. read more

If you can afford to pick a doctor that doesn't take insurance, this is your doc. He's so kind, it's like going to mom when you have a boo-boo. I also agree, he's made some excellent referrals to specialists, etc. read more

Dr. Sue is outstanding. He is always responsive, and really, really cares about his patients. He's been there for me when I had a "muppet hand" from being stung by a bee days before a major grad school exam, and he was there when I was mauled by a neighbor's pit bull and wound up at Cedars. As the daughter of an internist, I am VERY picky on my MDs, and he absolutely exceeds expectations. Sure, you have to submit to your own insurance, but if you have the means, it is completely worth it, without question. His referrals are always amazing too. read more

Dedicated, attentive, kind, sensible, personable, and outstanding in his field. Dr. Sue is tremendous, although he does not take insurance, his prices are reasonable. Most importantly, he take personal interest in his patients well being. You never have to wait and his team is extraordinary. To add, he will get back to you literally within minutes. He is a man of great work ethics, compassion, honesty and always for the greater good, action with good intentions. read more

The best doctor I have been to next to my childhood doctor who saved my life and did house calls. Great, thorough, authentic - you know you are in capable hands. Wish he was in my insurance program. read more

This is my first review on Yelp and I felt compelled to write it just because Dr. Sue is overwhelmingly professional, competent and extremely focused on my health - every single time I've visited him for the last ten years. He makes me feel like my health is important and I leave his office every single time with a feeling that I'm glad that I paid him a visit. He also takes his time to explain things and requests that I follow up with him telephonically to ensure that the diagnosis and medication prescribed were the best fit. Very happy with his service. read more

Dr. Sue has a brilliant mind, warm heart and gentle soul. A true healer.

Great doctor . Compassionate and understanding . I truly feel like Dr.Sue is a thoughtful and through doctor. He has been very helpful to me throughout the last few years I have been going to him . I would recommend him to everyone . read more

I have had Dr Sue as my primary physician for the last 20 years. He was one of the first professionals I met in LA and I think the only one I am still in contact with. He is nothing short of outstanding. Participating in sports, plus just going through my 20's and 30's, traveling constantly for work, I have had my share of bumps, bruises and random health concerns. Dr Sue has always been spot on with his diagnosis and follow through. His specialist referrals are also excellent--- in my case, truly world class. If you are lucky enough to have him as your MD, you will be in very good hands. read more

Ron Sue is as close to a house call as you will get in Los Angeles. A wonderful, caring doctor and a true gentlemen. I have only the highest praise for him. read more

He is truly the BEST! I've been a patient for over 15 years and I have yet to meet a better DR. Every friend that I have referred has thanked me profusely. You will not find a Dr. that works harder for your care and best interest. He's brilliant, kind, compassionate, trustworthy and ivy league trained to boot. As listed above, it's a privilege to be a patient as he does not accept insurance but if you value your care then you can find other things to cut back on to afford the best. I feel that going to Dr. Sue has actually saved me money as he does not run unnecessary tests, he takes your call and he is honest as he isn't beholden to a big insurance company & their rules. read more

He is a doctors doctor. He uses clinical judgement not just a battery of tests

MY HERO! He is simply the best. An incredible doctor and a beautiful soul. Dr. Sue has been my doctor since 2002 and I just can't say enough good things. He is amazing and his staff is the best. He is professional, incredibly intuitive, caring, loving, compassionate, kind, funny and forever touches the lives of all of his patients. My entire family now goes to him and most of my friends because he's that good! Nothing but love. read more

I read the last review of Dr. Sue from J.R. and had to add my two cents. I went to see him many years ago for a pre-operative appointment and have always remembered him as a kind, lovely man who took the time to visit me in the hospital after my surgery! I am not surprised to hear that he still goes the extra mile. read more

I have gone to Dr Sue since 2003, and he and his staff has always been very responsive and very reassuring. He always calls and tells you what the results are, good or bad. He is the best doctor I have ever gone to and he has a staff which matches his high standards and responsiveness. read more

Dr. Sue has been my doctor for over 25 years, and now that my son has transitioned out of pediatrics, he has become his doctor as well. He has the BEST bedside manner and is always so kind, and caring. His calming presence makes you feel better the instant he enters the room. When I had pneumonia, he would call after hours to check on how I was feeling. He goes above and beyond for ALL of his patients which is such a rare quality to find these days. I cannot reccomend him enough!!!!!!! read more

Dr. Ronald Sue is amazing! In this fast-paced world everyone wants quick answers and they don't have time for interpersonal relationships. Dr. Sue is the true exception - he cares deeply about his patients, spends quality time, is kind, compassionate, a gentleman and the best in his field! He has been my doctor for over 25 years and he is the only doctor that I truly trust. I consider him "family." read more

Great man. Great doctor. He is the primary care physician for two of my other docs. While that is a strong endorsement (take the car to your mechanic's mechanic), it is my over twenty-five years as a patient that makes me trust Dr. Sue. Excellence strived for and achieved. Truly remarkable. read more

Dr Sue, doesn't believe me when I say he is one of my favorite people in the world but, it's true. I was a Pharmaceutical Rep in his office for over 5 years, and the entire 16th floor made me feel so welcome and became like a family to me. I admired the way he personally would greet his patients at the door and stand with them as they were checking out. He personalized every visit and made each patient feel important. Reading the kind words that everyone wrote about Dr Sue, brings tears to my eyes. I am happy that others respect him and appreciate him the same way. He did tease me immensely (without every saying one word), all he did was give me a look that told me I was nuts and that would make me laugh even harder. He is one of a kind and I feel lucky to know him. read more

Dr. Sue is the greatest doctor EVER! His professionalism and old-world bedside manner is astounding in this era of doctors who keep you waiting for 45 minutes or longer and who rush you out the door. I know Dr. Sue has a very busy practice and yet he makes me feel that I'm his only patient that day and is totally on top of every detail even without looking at my charts! He is warm, reassuring, and the ultimate gentleman always, making you feel that you are the center of everything when you're there. When I need to speak to him on the phone, he is either available or quick to get back to me. He is also highly respected by his peers, one of whom told me that he has figured out Dr. Sue's secret: He is able to seem laid back and so devoted to each and every patient because he has cloned himself so he can be with multiple patients at a time and make them all feel he's their only patient that day! I truly cannot say enough great things about Dr. Sue and am incredibly grateful to him. It is great to know that he is always there for me. read more
