Hired The Door Centre to install a double door and massive window above it about 15 years ago. Did a fantastic job with a quality product that was reasonably priced. Fast forward 15 years, and one of the latches on the double door broke. Contacted The Door Centre and spoke with Rick. He got me a replacement part quickly and gave it free of charge. It's not the "free" that impressed me, it's the authentic appreciation for their clients!

Definitely not a good experience overall…read more The sales experience was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. They were glad to take my money, however the post sales experience was terrible. 2 major problems. First, upon door order I was quoted a 2 week delivery time however doors did not arrive until 5 weeks. No real responsibility taken other then to pass the blame to the door manufacture. Secondly, when the doors arrived, the frame they supplied did not fit into my roughed in opening. The frame width was 58.25 inches however they told me upfront to rough in a 58 inch opening as I ordered 2 26 inch French doors. This wouldn't have been a big deal if the doors had arrived on time as I was still at the framing stage however since they were 3 weeks late I had already finished the drywall, mudding and painting as I could not hold up the project for the late doors. When I called them to discuss it, Rick ( I think that was his name) took zero responsibility for the problem and essentially told me 'tough luck'. When I pushed it further and told him that I had built the framing to EXACTLY their dimensions, Rick told me it was my fault for not giving extra space and that if I wanted to avoid this problem I should have hired a contractor to do the work. I suggested to him that he send someone down to fix up the problem but he would not do that and said he would not spend any money to fix this problem. When I suggested he take the doors back and order smaller doors that would fit he said he would not do that because he would be stuck with the doors and out of pocket. The call ended with me telling him that I was going to post my experience to the internet so all could read it and he then threatened to sue me if I did. I would not suggest doing business with this company. I had planned to buy and have them install a very nice extra wide front doorway and glass in the spring (probably $6K) but obviously that wont happen now. In retrospect I assume that they probably didn't account for the 1/2 inch wooden divider between the 2 french doors (not sure what its called) when they gave me the sizes to frame in. Sounds like something pretty straight forward for someone in the door and window industry. To fix my problem I needed to rip the drywall down and cut out the stud on the one side of the doorway and move it over, re-drywall, remud and repaint. Ugh.

Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the girls at the front kept messing up my order so I would get to the back and be given the wrong product. I purchased a high grade carpet from the store about 1 1/2 years ago. The product failed miserably…read more Carpet was cleaned by two professional cleaners and stains remained. The manufacturer got involved sending an independent rep to perform testing and cleaning of carpet. Rep stated stain would keep coming back. Manufacturer wanted to send a third carpet cleaner to try to remove the stains on the white carpet. The manufacturer's carpet cleaner failed to show for the appointment, cancelling 10 minutes before scheduled appointment. That is when things took a turn for the better. Natasha from Eden Tile It, who was actively involved during the process replaced the underpad and carpet as per my choice. Eden Tile It has renewed my faith in a company going to extended lengths ensuring customer satisfaction, putting the customer first. Natasha was amazing through out the entire process keeping me informed but most importantly backing a client when the manufacturer failed to warrenty the product. Eden Tile It of Fairview Street, Burlington, ON has earned my repeat business. Thank you Natasha!

So disappointed. We have been purchasing tile at Eden Tile-It for nearly two decades and have…read morealways been happy with both the products and the service. Unfortunately, this was not our experience this time around. We ordered 14 boxes of tile based on the display board in Eden Tile-Its' showroom (see photo). When we opened the boxes nearly 70% of the tile had no pattern on it whatsoever and those that did had very little veining (see picture of one of the boxes). There would be no way that the look represented on the display board could be recreated with the product we received. When I contacted Eden Tile-It. The manager, Brian, insisted that this was normal variation of product. It is not. It is deception. I understand that some tiles are going to have more veining than others and that some tiles, based on the display board, might even be completely white. However, 20-30% (as opposed to the 70% we received) of the tiles on this display board are plain white and the ones that are patterned have much more veining than any of the tiles we received. This is very misleading, and given that customers are paying up front to order a product based on these display boards, dishonest. Customers should be able to trust that they will be able to recreate the look on these boards. I felt sure that Eden Tile-It would make this situation right, but they did not. Saying only, "That's just the way it is." The tile was returned but at a 15% restocking fee and the manager seemed ill equipped to handle a situation where a customer was not receiving what they paid for. Brian made no attempt to fix the situation, blaming the supplier and insisting the product we received was acceptable. It was not. I have recommended Eden-Tile-It to many friends, family, and even contractors over the years and have even taken friends into the showroom to help them choose tiles for their renovations. Based on this experience, I will not be recommending them again, nor will I be purchasing anything from them in the future. Go elsewhere. There are plenty of other suppliers that will treat their customers better

Our adventure at Concept Lighting began a few weeks ago when we were in to look at light fixtures…read morefor our living room. They had tons of styles to choose from, and while we had an idea of what we were looking for, the selection was a bit overwhelming. They have a very large selection compared to other local lighting stores which was nice because we didn't want to drive all the way to Toronto. A designer came to our aid and helped us narrow down our choices until we finally found the perfect one. One of our concerns was about the size and whether the fixture would be too big for the room. She whipped out her scratch pad and walked us through some design principles and how to know whether a fixture is going to look too big or not. After we settled, she checked and advised us of a 15% sale on that particular brand so we were happy to be under budget. When ringing us through, we had the option to leave a 50% deposit or pay in full. I should mention that it was a very busy store and there were ample staff working, all of whom were very pleasant and helpful. She told us that the fixture should arrive in up to 6 weeks because if their partner warehouse didn't have it in stock, they were likely waiting for it to arrive on the container (from China). Two weeks later, we got a call that the fixtures were ready for pickup. We picked up the next day, installed both of them and they looked beautiful! Unfortunately, the 2 finials were different sizes and this wasn't acceptable since both fixtures were in the same room and the difference would be extremely noticeable. I brought both finials back to the store with my receipt, pictures that I took, and the instructions showing the description of the parts and they quickly checked to see if they had another one they could swap out for me. As luck would have it, they had another box in the back and quickly did the swap -- this made my day because there was no way I was going to uninstall one of the fixtures and return it. Super satisfied. Will be back in the future.
