This review is about Rona's horrible delivery service. I had recently purchased a $1000 stove from this location and booked a delivery window of between 10:30am and 1:30pm whereby I also, therefore, needed to take a day off work to accommodate said delivery. They were supposed to contact me 72 hrs before to confirm delivery details. They never did. I had to call them myself. The night before, they did indeed contact me to confirm a 3-hr window of between 10:20am and 1:20pm. Good. However, on the day-of, they then changed that by saying the delivery has been delayed by 3hrs, offering no explanation, not even when asked. So if giving the maximum benefit of time by tacking that onto the original 1:20pm end-time, that would mean a new expected delivery of 4:20pm. Well, as of 4:30pm, it had still not arrived. I've now lost a full day of work needlessly, equalling a monetary loss of $200. I called Rona to complain. They then stated a new delivery time yet of 6pm, and again with no explanation. I demanded some sort of compensation for my loss of a $200 day. The only thing they offered was no more than a $50 gift card. While I did accept that, as they wouldn't offer anything else, it still meant I was out a considerable amount of money. After getting off the phone with them, they suddenly called back stating the truck would be arriving suddenly within 10min. Obviously, they must have contacted the driver to get to us right now without delay. Once the delivery finally arrived, the attitude of the driver was less than professional, exhibiting an aggressively obnoxious demeanor while hurriedly and roughly handling other product on the back of his truck to maneuver our stove from deep inside out towards the door. He also steadfastly refused to speak to me in English. They were both French, although his associate was more patient and did attempt to communicate in English, albeit very brokenly. Additionally, when he removed all the packaging and protective pieces from the stove, he did so quickly and abruptly with very little carefulness. Thankfully, though, this did not result in any damage. But it most certainly had that potential. Due to this experience, I will never again do business with this organization. Furthermore, I am endeavoring to post this review on as many sites as possible in an attempt to warn others of the risk they take if purchasing an item from Rona requiring delivery. read more
