I am so sorry to say I had a bad experience here. I truly trusted Mr. George. I had a simple request to set an oval shaped lab-grown 1 carat diamond into an engagement ring setting which I supplied. When I picked up the finished ring, The center stone was NOT the stone I supplied. It was definitely a round (hopefully lab-grown diamond) which looks fine, but is NOT the ring as I had imagined. Hopefully I can find another jeweler who can read the lazer inscription on the stone in the engagement setting. I have lost confidence in this store. read more

Do not trust this jeweler with your time or valuables. They had my rings for months when I asked them to make a custom wedding band only to tell me that no work had been completed and Ron had retired. I should have known something was wrong when they asked me to come in three times and I had never seen a sketch or been given a price quote.They blocked me on Facebook and Instagram so they know they messed up. They offered to do the work but by that point I was two months into a project that had yet to be started. When I went to collect the rings they had no customer service to speak of. Creating anxiety and fear in their customers that their family heirlooms were being held hostage. While I understand they are under new management making excuses and overcharging (when two months later I finally got a quote) is not taking accountability for lost time and trust. Even if it's under new management this place is not to be trusted. read more

They replaced the prongs on the main diamond, and secured two questionable outer diamonds, cleaned and completed the rhodium plating. So pleased with the excellent work and quick turn around time. Took my older watch in for adjustment as it was running a little fast. I was told the watch needed an overhaul for $240.00. 5 months after the overhaul the watch broke . Unable to set the time, the stem would only spin when pulled out.Returned with broken watch and was told another $140.00 To repair. After a delay of 4 months the watch was returned with a stem too tight to easily pull out . I was told " you really need to get your fingernail underneath it to pull it out". It was never like that before and not easy if your nails are short. And To make matters worse, the watch now runs slow. Its worse than before the original "overhaul".Not good! I don't think I'll be returning. read more

Worst experience ever! Tried to give the hometown guy my business...never again. I brought in multiple diamonds that belonged to my mother, who had passed a short time before, to be made into a necklace for my daughter's Master's Degree graduation. Ron George and I talked over the design I would like, made drawings together, etc. I left many diamonds so he would have multiple to choose from. I even left a picture of my daughter so that he could visualize whom it was being made for. He had a month to make the necklace and promised it would be done in time. The week I was to head to graduation, I finally got a call that my necklace was almost finished. He explained that the diamonds would be "turning a bit when worn but that was normal". It was confusing to me but I trusted him. Later, his son, John, called to tell me the necklace was ready. I asked him to explain to me again what his father had said about the diamonds "turning". When he explained it, something didn't seem right. I asked him to please describe the necklace to me. After doing so, we realized that they had not made the necklace the way Ron and I had designed. NOWHERE CLOSE! It turns out that Mr. George had "mixed up the files" and made my diamonds into a design someone else had requested. At least I'm guessing they were still my diamonds. I was to leave in two days to present this to my daughter and it was completely wrong. They promised to redo it and get it right and get it to fedex'd to me. After a few more phone conversations as to how many diamonds to use and how to get the design correct, I headed out of town. The necklace showed up at my destination, as promised, but was still awful. Before I left, we had had a discussion about how many diamonds to use and what look I was going for (I wanted simple, wearable), yet he decided since I had so many extra diamonds why not put them in too. I received a much more blingy necklace than asked for, a crooked design, and just everything still wrong. SOOOO sad and disappointed. Upon returning to Annapolis, my daughter and I went back to the store and went over things with John George as to how to make it right. We picked it up a month later. Necklace is much better, but still not great. What should have been a an open, extended arc of diamonds is instead practically a "U" shape. AND, Ron George had the nerve to charge me an extra $83 because he had to make the chain 2" longer. This is after my spending over $2k for this experience. You'd think he'd comp that after all of this. AND he no longer had the file with my daughter's picture. Yes, this is a long story, but I am so mad and sad at this ridiculous experience. As a local, I always want to help my fellow Annapolitan. I will never set foot in there again. As we were leaving, his only comment was "Those really are beautiful stones you had". I took my college ring to Ron George Jewelers to have the fake stone replaced with a gold plug engraved with my initials. The salesman (the owner's son) quoted me a price of "around $300". Three days later, I get a call from the salesman telling me that he misspoke, and that the price would actually be "around $600", because he had forgotten to include the price of engraving. I considered taking my ring somewhere else, but the salesman informed me that he had already put in the plug, and because of the estimate difference he'd adjust the price to $450. I agreed, and was told it wouldn't take very long. I called the store about a week later, and was told the ring would be ready soon. So I called after another week, and was told the same thing. After four weeks went by, they called me on a Wednesday and said the ring would be ready Friday. I couldn't get to the store that Friday, but when I came by the following Monday, the ring wasn't ready. After another week the ring was ready, but when I came to see it, the engraving was backwards. Additionally, the gold plug was protruding above the ring, rather than rounded down as I had specified. I informed the salesman that I wanted the engraving redone in the proper orientation, and the plug shape rounded down. Several days later I received a call from Mr. George, asking if I was sure I wanted the engraving reversed, since "it would be a lot of work". He also said he was concerned it could damage the ring. I told him that yes, I wanted the ring just the way I told the salesman originally. Today, seven weeks after I dropped the ring off, I picked it up. I am pleased with the way the ring turned out, but expected that due to the customer service hassle the price would be discounted. I expressed my displeasure with the process to Mr. George, and about the length of time it had taken. To my surprise, he claimed that much of the delay was them "waiting for me to let them know what I wanted". This was appalling. I told the salesman on the very first meeting what I wanted, and showed him a picture of my grandfather's ring, which I modeled mine after. Though the work was fine, the customer service was very lacking. read more

Dishonest and untrustworthy. Mr George kept more than half of my 18kt italian gold necklace when making bracelet & earring from it. Told me he didn't think I'd want the left-over. The earring backings were 14kt and cheap looking and the bracelet broke the first time I wore it. Horrible job. I do not trust him to buy anything nor repair anything! He returned the fastener, but never the rest of the links! Would give him no stars if it were possible. read more
