During an annual physical, which is free with our insurance, my wife was prescribed a drug that "had" to be billed separately and as a "separate visit" when she was already there anyway. It was a 2 month prescription which she uses very rarely. It's been just over 6 months since it was prescribed. She asked for a repeat prescription which could easily be done over the phone or online but she has to go in now for another visit for that repeat prescription. Clearly they'll make money on the visit. So unnecessary. For the record, Lacey Hutchinson is very nice and professional, but the system of her office needs to be more flexible and easy to deal with.

For the last week- my pharmacy and I have been trying to contact the office to get a prescription refill (Nexium- which I have been taking for almost 30 years). My pharmacy, Express Scripts, contacted them over a week ago and I have submitted prescription refill requests online at least 3 times. I finally called and left a message (because there is no way to talk to anyone) inquiring as to why my prescription has not been refilled. I finally received a call stating that they were rejecting my refill request because I needed to come in for an office visit in order to get it refilled. They kept rejecting the request but did not have the decency to contact me to let me know. I mentioned that there is still currently a pandemic and since this is a standard medicine, why can't they just refill? It has been just over 1 year since my last visit (and a pandemic is still very active) but they insist I come into the office. No offer for tele-medicine, no offer to extend the prescription until the pandemic is more under control. In the meantime, I am running out of medicine and left to scramble to find a new doctor.

They give you a 10 minute window for tardiness for appointments. Not really sure what happens after you are late though. When it's close to time for your appointment they give you a reminder call or two a couple of days before. Their office takes just about every insurance type. I can attest to this as I have changed providers over the years through my jobs. They do a lot of their labs onsite. They also do allergy testing and stress tests on site as well which is quite convenient. If there's something their office can't do they usually typically recommend pretty good doctors to go to. I foresee myself continuing to go to Dr. Kim for a long time. His entire office is nice and it's always the same people there so that must also be a good sign that people working there are happy as there is no turn over. She's one of those people I'd hang out with outside of the doctors office. Anyway, when I first saw her she immediately got me on Prozac for my anxiety disorder since my current medication was not working. Then she got me on birth control and ordered labs for me since I hadn't done labs in a while. What I wasn't a fan of was going to her every couple weeks for follow ups. At one point, I was feeling really sick and dizzy and she attributed it to the Prozac and side effects. Not once did she even consider asking me if I could be pregnant. Sure enough, I WAS pregnant because the birth control she gave me failed and I gave birth to a little girl in October. She also saw my husband. Completely beat around the bush when he would request labs that he desperately needed done. She would not let him get it done. She prescribed him some weird diabetic shots that made him super sick. Won't help with his disability paperwork. It was just a mess with him seeing her. We have since gotten insurance and different doctors.
