It's 2023, and Roma Pass is no longer a good deal, though if THEY know that, they're not telling. You want to see wax museums and the poorly-reviewed Gladiator Museum? Get the Pass. But if you do, you will walk the city, try to enter points of interest laid down on Roma Pass's map, and have box offices tell you they're no longer included, e.g. Palazzo Venezia. Coliseum? Forget it. Forum? Yes, but expect to stand in line like anyone else. DON'T BOTHER with it. read more

Price just went up to 34 Euros as of September 2013, dang it! Still a good value overall though if you hit up at least 3 sites. We got to see 3 Museums for free: The Collesum/Form(12e), and you skip the line! Borghese Gallery(11e) Ostia Antica(10e) It was only supposed to be 2 free with Roma Pass, but the bored lady at Ostia Antica didn't scan our Roma Passes and just printed up 2 free tickets for us. Nice! I guestimate we used the Metro for at least 15 euros worth a person(The Metro is 1.50e each way), so overall we saved we a few Euros with the Roma Pass. Also comes with a nice big map of Rome. But if you only plan to visit 2 sites, you may just want to pay for everything separately. You can buy these at the airport. read more

My husband and I were in Rome for three days: May 1-3, 2018. We purchased only a 48 hour pass (28 euros) because many of the sites and museums were not open for the May 1 holiday. The transportation part of it was awesome and we used it 6-7 times for both buses and Metro. The museum part not so much. We weren't told when we purchased the pass that the Borghese Gallery was making reservations two weeks out, so we didn't get to see the art there. Roma Pass is no longer necessary. We thought the Roma Pass would help us skip the lines at the Colosseum, but this was absolutely not the case. We still had to book and pay for a tour. We also thought we could use the Roma Pass to waive our fee into the Colosseum, but the tour company said that we would have had to arrive at 8:00 in the morning, go to the Roma Pass office and book our tour through them. We didn't know any of this. The tour company told us the Roma Pass is no longer worth it or necessary and we found out the hard way. Most places we visited had free admission - including the Pantheon. Rome is walk-able, so we never took the tram or metro, so I can't say if that would have been worth it to use the pass for that. Very essential part of any DIY tourist's toolkit. Only $30 Euros (about $42.50) for a three-day pass. You get free entry into 2 museums or archeological sites, then a 30% discount on each additional museum or site. Unlimited access to all Metro subway trains, buses, and trolleys (including the Lido/Ostia train line). We really got our money's worth out of this package deal, as our first three days took us to 4 museums & sites which basically paid for the cost of the pass. However, we rode the Metro & ATAC buses an average of 8 times per diem, so when you do the math ($1.50 Euros x 24 subway/bus rides = $36 Euros worth of transportation). My only caveat: you won't get your money's worth if you buy your pass on a Sunday/Monday --- nearly all the museums and attractions covered by the Roma Pass are CLOSED on those two days. You will still "break even" if you hit 2-3 sites on Tuesday. read more

We purchased the Roma Pass in conjunction with the Omnia Pass for $95€/ person. The Roma pass gives you 72 hours from activation time to take advantage of it's features. With the pass comes unlimited travel on city buses, trams and Metro (subway). It also allows for 2 free visits to one of countless sites located across the city. We used it for access to: 1) the Colosseum and 2) The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. The pass also provides discounts at other museums/sites once you've utilized the 2 free admissions you get. The Metro is very easy to operate, so don't be afraid to travel with locals. read more

What a scam. Bought it to skip the line at the Colosseum, turns out we had to book a timeslot and to book this timeslot, we had to wait in line for over An hour and got a timeslot for three hours later. It was cheaper and quicker just to buy the separate tickets.. read more

This changes the math a little but, here's my two cents: I just want to add that if you're going during any kind of busy season (we were there in April and it was still kooky), you might lose a bit of money on the pass, but you may also make up for that by preserving your *sanity* in terms of the lines at both your museum/attraction of choice and at the Metro stations. Omnia & Roma pass was a big mistake and disappointment for us .. We paid 88 Euros per head for the pass. We reached Rome on a weekend , reached st Giovanni ORP only to realise that the ORP is closed on weekends.Then we went to Vatican ORP to collect our passes, and by the time we actually recieved our passes at 4 PM, we could not visit Vatican attractions that day as it was too late to get an entry. We spent 6 Euros to get to Vatican city just to collect the pass and could not even visit any attractions that day. The whole day was wasted. The real prices of the attractions are much less than what they have displayed on their website. They have shown Colessium costs 15 Euros, Roman Forum & Palatine hill costs 15.5 Euros , where as in reality all the three attractions combined cost only 12 Euros. They have shown Vatican museums tickets to be 27 Euros while it is only about 16 or 18 Euros. Yes there is an incredably long line , but even with this tour there is alot of waiting time . You've got to make reservation, be there at the meeting point 15 minutes before the schedule, a 10 minute walk to the Vatican museum , and when you reach you find a Queue as you would be going in a group of 30-50 people. So it nothing like ""skipping the line"". Alot of attractions that they have included in the pass are actually free, like the St. Peters Basilica, st johns Basilica in the Lateran, and for some others there is no line to skip. None of it had any guided tour , only st Peters Basilica had an audio guide that too for just 1 hr , and it was definitely no worth 14 euros. We were in Rome for 3 days, out of which 1st half day was wasted in just collecting the pass. You would need a whole day to visit the Colosseum + Roman Forum + Palatine hill , which we did. Another full day is needed for the Vatican Museums + St Peters Basilica, which we did, and hence we could not visit another free site in Rome included in the pass. We paid 88 Euros per head for the Omnia & Roma pass. We only used 65 Euros worth sight seeing/transportation in that ( 35 Euros for tourist bus + public trasnportation, 12 Euros for Colosseum+ Roman Forum + Palatine hill, 18 Euros for Vatican Museums). For 2 people we spent 176 Euros but could use only 130 Euros . Wasted 46 Euros and half a day with this pass. More than the loss of money it is the disappointment they cause which makes your visit to Rome a bad experience . Please do not buy this pass. read more

Bought two of these online and the instructions were to "pick up at Terminal 3" at the airport. I had no idea what this meant. I'll save you all my headaches going to the information booth in Terminal 3, asking security, and looking for perhaps a person walking around? ...Just to let you know that in Terminal 3 there is a STOREFRONT called - you guessed it - ROMA PASS and it's all bright orange and yellow. So you pick up the pass and groovy, you can use it for three days, first two sites are free and a discount on the rest. I ended up only using it for two places - the Forum and the Colosseum. The Colosseum had a 3-hour-long line... unless you had a Roma Pass. Then your private, separate line to the left of the long line waltzed right in. Totally worth buying it for that reason alone. read more

I got the 72 hr Roma pass, and I'm very unsatisfied with the experience. Their electronic tracking system is faulty, and there was no customer service to resolve the issue. I was eligible for the reduced admission with the roma pass at Ostia Antica, but when I got to the site the 3rd day, the ticket person insisted that I had visited the site before using the roma pass, so I was not eligible for the reduced admission. I then tried to politely tell the ticket person that the capitolini museum was the first site I used the roma pass, but the ticket person told me that according to the electronic tracking system, I had never been to to the capitolini museum and Ostia Antica was the first site I went to. The ticket person then just rudely told me to suck it up and pay the extra 4 euros as the full admission price. I politely told her that I was a student, and if there was something wrong with their electronic tracking system, they should try to fix it so it doesn't happen to somebody else. She then accused me that I wasn't respecting her job, and told me to phone the customer service number to resolve the issue. That's ridiculous... expecting a foreigner with no SIM card to phone some generic number. There wasn't even anyone else in line at the ticket booth. read more

Bought the 72 hour Roma Pass as it promised Skip the Queue free entry to 2 sites including the Coliseum. However on purchasing the pass, I was told that since March 2019, it does not give Skip the Queue entry to the Coliseum and one must queue in the morning for a timed ticket. In my view, this makes the Roma Pass at €38.50 no longer worth the money. It made travel on public transport convenient and simple, but, as prices into the attractions are reasonable, you might as well pay separately for the attractions. I would not recommend the Roma Pass at the price it is. read more

We only had three days in Roma, we got the 48hrs Roma Pass. Many visit sites are walk-able. The 48hrs Roma Pass comes with one free museum admission. The Colosseum, Rome Forum and Palatine Hill only 12 euro. We did not get our money worth for the Roma Pass 28 euro. If we will go back to Roma in the future, we will not buy the Roma Pass. Again, Roma city center almost everywhere is walk-able. We did not need to use a lot of the public transportation. read more

The Roma Pass worked very well was worth it for the travel plus the discount to the museums. Where I had a problem was at the airport buying the actual Roma Pass, the vendor told me my card was declined so I paid in cash, I did not notice that the transaction had in fact gone through until I returned to London so in effect I paid twice. Roma Pass are very unhelpful and say there is nothing they can do, not a satisfactory outcome am now trying to claim it back from my credit card company. Watch out for the scammers!! read more

Skip it; it is a cheep piece of crap and the employees aren't much better. These passes are nothing more than heavy paper with a bar code printed on it. They won't work if they get so much as creased from being in your pocket, and not only will they not give you new one if it stops working, but they treat you as if you personally insulted their country by "damaging" it. I kid you not, this is what they said to us when we asked if we could be issued a new one due to a crease from said pocket: "No, it is damaged, we won't give you a new one. Would you take a Louis Vuitton purse out in the rain? No, because you are supposed to treat your things with respect. This (holding the card as if it were a dead bug and scolding us like children) is the same thing as 65 Euros!" Um, no you idiot, if a Euro bill gets a crease in it, it is still accepted EVERYWHERE. We didn't even end up using all the benefits from it. Don't waste your time or money. read more
