I love the great outdoors and had every intention of going hiking, but ran into a few issues. To satisfy my desire to embrace the great outdoors I stopped by this place. The view is of the TN river and you must check it out. I honestly don't think the pictures do it justice. It's a small area but would be great for jogging or walking, having a picnic or simply taking in the scenery. I was also impressed by the fact that they have at room facilities available. I did not go into the restroom, but from the outside it appears new and clean. I highly recommend making the stop if you are in the area.

Outside, there's a beautiful creek where you can splash, explore, and even catch crawfish -- which we did a lot of! You can also feed rainbow trout in the nearby stream, which the kids loved. One of the most unique and special things about this place is the fresh spring water. Locals and visitors line up to fill gallons of it because it's clean, natural, and totally drinkable right from the source. Of course we tried it - and it really is some of the best-tasting water we've had! This place is a hidden gem and we'll definitely be back!

The kids were enjoying playing in the water. The park is very popular and its own enemy. There were lots of maintenance needs. The bathrooms were horrible. Glad I went to see what all the fuss was about. It was Labor Day weekend when I went.

The good things about Etowah park is that there is a track that I will walk around sometimes, several good tennis courts, a golf driving range up the hill, and a small playground with swings and a couple of slides. There is also a short trail that runs through the woods with a couple of bridges. The bad things about Etowah, there is a little skate park that seems to attract seedy, obnoxious teenagers who smoke and cuss no matter who is around including young children. Also, part of the track that my son would ride his bike on runs right beside Wilshire Rd. and I don't really like that for several reasons. We go here sometimes, it's just not our favorite park, Ridgeferry is much better.

I was surprised the whole time bc it was not something I would think to care about except for taking my kids to when they little many years ago. However it was actually so enjoyable and neat to be at. It is filled with so many people clearly for a reason. I'd recommend anyone go to it even if they think it's not their type of thing. It is very cool for sure. Also, the last thing we did was hop on that little train( which I didn't care to do at all without little kids with me) yet it was a shocker how that man driving the train who shares about all things throughout the event that you get to see again from a different view on that train...he was super awesome. I actually would have ridden that train and listened to that man over and over and over again. He was fun to hear from. It is not super expensive so do not resist to do it. Gather up your group or just you and your spouse or for take your kids if they are still young. This is for sure a fun enjoyable thing to go see.
