My husband's truck recently got a huge crack in the windshield. I decided to first get a few quotes before I moved forward with anyone. I looked into 4 different businesses and Hansons stood out from the rest. The way they answered my questions was so nice and informative and they were so easy to set up an appt with. They gave me quotes on aftermarket as well as OEM parts, they never tried to upsell at all. They were prompt and on time to my appt and now my husbands windshield looks good as new! The technician, Alex G., was so great years ago when he'd replaced a windshield on my car, that I asked if he was still with the company & requested to have him do the work. He & another guy (didn't catch his name) came out to the house to replace the windshield on my daughter's 3 week old Elantra. (Rock chip on the freeway.) Alex remembered our house, though it had easily been about 5 years since he'd been out to us. My daughter & I both spoke with Alex. He gave us a quick rundown of what they were going to do. He relocated her temporary registration/VIN decal & showed her where he was putting it in the car so she could replace it later. (Ironically, she received her permanent plates that same day.) The guys completed the work & were out in just a little over an hour. And it was all done in my driveway! That's worth any price! Speaking of prices, theirs were very comparable to other places my husband called- except for SafeLite. ‍ Their price was more than double what United quoted & their quote that was emailed to us was very shady looking, as the amounts didn't add up at all! We have a $1k deductible & United charged $825 out the door. We have comprehensive coverage but decided to pay out of pocket, as she was at fault recently for breaking the front axle on her previous car where insurance deemed it a total loss. (Teenagers! ) We decided to keep our name out of the insurance office for a bit & cover it on our own! I told Alex that the next time I saw him, it had better be at Costco or at a restaurant or something! But if we do need any other repairs/replacements, we'll go straight to United Auto Glass again! From the start, the initial call was helpful, and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. The manager was great--he was patient, informative, and really took the time to walk me through the options. I opted for the higher-end Stratos series, with 70% tint on the windshield and sunroof, and 30% on the sides. I went with the 30% on the sides for a good balance between looks and function, though in hindsight, I might have gone with a 40% or 50% just to reduce the chance of being pulled over. But that's a subjective decision, and I can still see fine at night with the 30%, so it works. After having the Stratos for a while, I'll admit that I didn't notice as much of a difference as I expected between it and a high-quality ceramic film. If I were to do it again, I'd probably consider going with their regular ceramic for the side windows and keep the Stratos on the windshield and sunroof, where it does feel like a noticeable upgrade in terms of heat rejection and clarity. There were some small air bubbles in the tint, particularly on the sunroof, but I gave it a little time. When they didn't go away, I gave the shop a call. They were really accommodating, and the manager had no hesitation in bringing me in to replace the sunroof tint. I appreciate how they handled this--it's hard to get tint perfect every time (unless you're working in a clean room), but they were eager to make sure I was satisfied, which goes a long way in my book. One minor hiccup was that the price I was quoted online was a bit different than what I was told in the shop. The website has some helpful details, but it showed a car sunroof (rather than a small SUV), which resulted in a higher price. Not a huge deal, and I understand that things can get mixed up, especially with a newer website. When I brought it up in-store, they gave me an upfront quote that was just a little higher than expected (maybe around $70 more), but they were clear about it, and they also offer a nice military veteran discount. I didn't push them to honor the online price because I felt the situation was understandable and fair. Another nice touch was that they use professional software for invoicing, which I didn't see at another shop I've worked with in the past. It adds a level of professionalism that I really appreciated. The shop itself was clean and well-organized, with a waiting area and a restroom. I liked that they had a display showing all their tint options, plus a helpful booklet with examples, so I could see how different tints would look in my car before making a final choice. When I came back for the replacement tint, I was told it would take about an hour.
