I didn't see an issue with it because I had done it for several other friends without any hassle. Next thing the agent sent me a form to fill, I got back to them and let them know this isn't a guarantor form and I needed to provide details as if I was the one renting the property. They said they needed to do that as my friend didn't have a job so I have to co-sign for him. I didn't want to say no because my friend needed to get a place ASAP because he wanted to get settled in. So I signed the form and returned it. Next thing they call me again and asked for drivers license, at this time, I was already suspicious, because why will you need all these information to be a guarantor for someone. The agent said they just wanted to confirm my DOB, so I redacted my other info on the drivers license and sent it over. Again she came back with the same story that they couldn't find me and they needed my SIN, I outrightly said no, I wasn't going to provide that. She used all the tricks in the book and I still didn't provide my SIN. I got back to my friend and let them know my concerns, and told them the agent seems shady even if she was from a big rental company. The agent then said, they wouldn't rent to them because I didn't provide that info. Fast forward to a couple of days later, I get an email that someone did a hard inquiry on my credit report, I checked the report and saw it was from boardwalk. So how did you do a hard inquiry on my credit report when you couldn't find me??? I have applied for Cres from financial institutions and they didn't do a hard inquiry, but to rent a deadbeat apartment you did a hard inquiry???? The agent clearly lied, and I don't know why they needed that information to rent a house. Boardwalk isn't a sincere company and I would never advise anyone to rent from them. I am going to make an official complaint. They are a shady company beware!!!!!

I told them no, they can't have my SIN, it's against the law to demand it from me. They said they couldn't find me. I'm like I have car payments and have a CC, why can't you find me. After five calls to me and my husband, they told me they won't rent to me unless I give up my SIN. I said no, explained that I could send them my credit report, but they refused because they dealt with another company. Don't rent from these people and don't give out your SIN to any rental place. You don't know what they are going to do with it and under the law, they can't force you. And you shouldn't have to. I gave them other avenues to search for my credit, that they didn't take. It was the worst experience ever!

I would have not found my home/office if it wasn't for Dorothy. She is very responsive and is always punctual. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty when it was time for us to work together. She and her husband picked me and my co-worker up from and to the airport with their fancy poshy car and drove us to look at all the houses. Furthermore, Dorothy and her husband treated me and my co-worker like a VIP guests, we felt super special! She was extremely patient and knowledgeable. Dorothy has given me so many great advice and insights into all the properties I looked at. Her expertise and professionalism can only be described in one word, "IMPECCABLE!" I have worked with over 15 real estate agents in my entire life in different cities, provinces and countries; and I have never met ANY agent like Dorothy, she is very trustworthy and honest. I love her vibe and personality. I found that over 90% of real estate agents today are very flakey and they are NOT very responsive, or they have become very jaded. So many agents these days are so unprofessional with their work ethic and conduct. Some are shady while others are very sleazy. But with Dorothy, she was my guardian angel, she worked hard to protect my best interests; she prevented and made sure that NO Developers/Builders or the Seller's agent was going to pull some dirty, illegal tricks under the carpet on me. I am so grateful that Dorothy was looking out for me from the start until the end. Many real estate agents don't care about their clients' needs but with Dorothy, she made sure I got what I wanted at the end of the day no what it takes. I like an agent with a strong grit, ambition, driven and always aim high. Luckily, I had Dorothy right at by my side throughout the whole process and she has ALL those great qualities that I am looking for as a real estate agent. She is definitely in a league of her own when it comes to experience, service and producing excellent results! I believe my standards are extremely high and Dorothy was going toe-to-toe with me in that department! Overall, I am really impressed with her strong work ethics and moral compass. So having said all that, I would HIGHLY recommend Dorothy for all your real estate needs! She and her husband are wonderful down-to-earth people to work with! INCROYABLE! MERCI BEAUCOUP!

This Real Estate Agent is a tool. He was representing a seller whom I purchased a Condo from and…read morerefused to give me an actual key upon taking possession. He was extremely rude over the phone and highly unprofessional. Definitely suffered from business short-sightedness as I will not use him for buying or selling in the future, nor will I recommend him to friends and family. There are plenty of Realtors out there just search here on yelp for those with good reviews ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20/09/2013 - Update to address Realtor's comment below: - Your seller did not agree to my best offer for furnishings then changed his mind on possession date after I had already purchased furniture. I had every right to refuse this last minute none-sense proposition. Also, It is your job as a realtor to relay information between me and the seller, you get paid to do this, it is a part of your job description, you cant possibly expect a pat on the back for actually doing what you get paid to do? - Please do not make false claims regarding the lock being keyless, it was a regular lock with a keyhole and a battery operated number pad. You including just a pin code for the key release was highly unprofessional and quite unacceptable by any standard, even other realtors from your own office agreed to this while I was waiting at the secretary desk. I am sure you know that batteries die jakie, and when that happens, and there is no physical key to unlock the door, things can get quite horrid. I ended up replacing the lock myself which costed about $200 dollars. If you are serious about making things right like you claim, you can start by reimbursing that cost and I would be more than happy to post an update to this effect. Also, you did not provide the stairwell key which I had to get cut from the condo association for a fee. I hoped that you would have posted a simple honest apology but all you presented was reassigning of blame and a case of failure of taking responsibility. I hope that you can learn from this experience and better yourself as a realtor and also as an individual. Lastly, I wanted to apologize for the name calling in my initial review, I was quite displeased when I wrote that as anyone would have been in my situation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03/10/2013 - Update to address Realtor's comment below: -The bank did not agree to add the furniture to the deal because they felt that it didn't add value to the property. I made your client a very reasonable cash offer which he initially declined then later agreed to on closing day, after I had already purchased furniture. No one asked for you to represent me Jackie. However, it was your responsibility to relay information to your client. I'll agree with you that my realtor was semi-useless but dealing with me instead of him on some occasions did not mean that you were representing me. - I know you're trying to save your reputation but if you're going to make false claims to accomplish that, at least make sure they're reasonable. I chat with tenants all the time and they regularly use keys to unlock their doors as oppose to using the number pad because it saves the battery on their locks, what you are claiming is completely false. I went ahead and purchased the same lock because it cost the same as re-keying the existing lock and it came with two keys! I am not sure why your client didn't provide you with a key but you should not have allowed him to get away with this for the sake of protecting his reputation, and yours. -My agent paid a portion of my legal fees as part of an agreement that me and him had when initially deciding to work together. This had nothing to do with you or the key. There is no documented proof, the battery in the lock simply died and I had no key to unlock the door with. Luckily, someone was inside so they helped unlock the door otherwise I would have had to tear it down. I bought the lock from the home depot and changed it myself. The $200 covers the cost of the lock, no labour. I am a reasonable person so that was all I asked of you. You should be getting an E-mail from me soon in regards to this. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 06/02/2014 - FINAL UPDATE Contrary to what this realtor wrote below about making things right and covering the cost of the lock, in the end he did not provide any compensation. He wasted my time by getting me involved in a pointless exchange of emails, after which he "changed his mind". I am sure that his intentions were always to make it look like he was doing the right thing without actually doing it but I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Anyways here you have the final verdict, I hope that this helps someone.

Our unit had been on the market for a year prior, we took a short break due to the stress of it all, and bit the bullet and relisted - this time with Jakie. Jakie was very quick to respond and meet with us. He came to our home and explained the process, he was honest and direct about what steps we would need to take to sell our home. We really appreciated hearing things that we had not heard about our condo before (specifically, little things that we needed to do to make our condo more appealing), so we knew we were in good hands. We got to work, and eventually made the decision to list with Jakie - throughout the whole experience, he was responsive to our questions, efficient, and professional - providing insight and knowledge along the way. There was never a time throughout the process that we felt ignored. It is very clear that client care is important to Jakie, and the ability to read clients and provide them with solutions to their problems is an valuable and rare skill - Jakie understands this, and posesses this skill. Despite the covid pandemic and slower market, Jakie ended up selling our condo in a matter of a couple of months, I am still a bit shocked at how fast everything went as I type this. From the first meeting, to the negotiation process, to the end of condition removal, it has been a pleasure to have an expert like Jakie on our side. If you are looking for someone who is honest, professional and capable - someone who will explain the process to you from start to finish, and make sure that everything goes smoothly throughout, then I highly recommend Jakie Ng.
