Just completed the purchase of our 4th car from Twynhams. As usual the service was impeccable. Very professional and helpful throughout and the car was exactly as described, immaculate and exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend. read more

Imperial Car Supermarket

It's car dealers like this that really separate the men from the boys in terms of auto sales…read more Service is instantly top-notch, with very friendly and helpful salesmen there to guide the whole car-buying process. I found that the ability to test drive is pretty much unlimited and encouraged to give the customer the best opinion of the choice they have. And believe me when I say: there is a lot of choice! The facility is very modern and holds a huge stock of upmarket cars. There probably isn't much held by Imperial that's under four and a half grand. All car stock is RAC tested mechanically and is valeted to great standard before handover. It gives you a great sense of quality in what you're purchasing. I'd highly recommend these guys. You pay perhaps slightly more than you would elsewhere, but service is brilliant, all cars are at a very high standard, and you will find yourself not wanting to buy elsewhere once you've visited!

Helpful salesman. Was a bit worried when I read a review about this place but decided to go there…read moreanyway and I am glad I did. Experience overall was good, the salesman helped us pick the right car and offered us a fantastic deal. Had the car (range rover) for 9 months now, nothing has gone wrong or played up unlike my previous vehicle which I bought from a different garage ! Thanks

I don't beleive it,,,, finally a trustworthy non pushey car dealer. Came across this garage on…read morereturn from a business trip up north, (yes their is civilisation north of London). Stopped to browse as you do and wasn't pounced on like some garages their cars have full description in the window so didn't have to ask anyone for mileage, spec etc (not seen that before).. But a costly browse as I spotted a Pug convertible that I knew my wife would love (and love me for buying it....) A fair deal, new MOT and service thrown in without hassle or asking, they even got the road tax for me at cost. A first in my car buying expereince. I left them poorer but didn't feel robbed as 1 or 2 car purchases I've made before and suffered afterwards. Thanks lads will recommend to all my friends and family its just a shame your located so far from Sussex.

The after-sales experience has been really good with both the sales and mechanical teams, even being lovely about answering what I'm sure were silly questions about cars! I definitely recommend them.
Imperial Motor Compampany
One star because I have to. Sorry about the misspelling!…read more OK, this dealer is out in in the woods, down a bridle path. You have to honk your horn so that they open the gates. The manners of the owner and his father are also out in the woods. I have never ever dealt with such offensive people. I will try to list events as they happened. We went on Saturday to look at a car, and I decided to take it. I had to leave a deposit as my credit limit was partly used up and I could pay the difference. The father spoke to me as if I am stupid which I found very offensive. My friend later put it down to car sales persons, but I've never encountered such conduct before. As we walked back to my car, I slipped on the many fallen wet leaves that are lying on the ground (this is a health and safety risk). A few moments later Mr Driver wanted to brush leaves off my back, but spent a great deal of time 'brushing off' my bottom - I said nothing at the time. I had said that I would transfer some funds and arrange to come back. I transferred funds into my current account, and when I spoke with Mr Driver he was very pushy that I return today to fetch the car, and I forgot to ask if he would like a bank draft. I returned today, and paid by cheque, payment is recorded on my bill of sale. He took my keys, and brought the purchased car to my old one and told me to go ahead and put my things in. In the meantime he went to get his son. Gary Driver took me back to his office and as if he were a Headteacher began to lecture me about personal cheques. I said that my cheque was good and cheques are legal tender. He took my connect card and because it was declined he made a great fuss and told me my account was empty. In fact, I have put a limit on my debit card so that large amounts are declined. I do not normally broadcast this, and did not feel inclined to tell him in the light of his rudeness. I told him his father had already accepted my cheque and he replied that he didn't realise his father was so incompetent. I also told Gary Driver that his father had touched me uninvited and I would go nowhere with his father to obtain cash or a draft in view of this. I explained that it is the duty of a business to declare how they wish to be paid, and there was no onus on me to have to ask. He refuted this, which shows that he clearly does not understand consumer law. When I wanted to leave, my new car was parked across my present one so I asked for it to be moved as I did not wish to be kept against my will. Then my keys were still in the office, so I asked for them and sked the father why he had accepted my cheque as he had obtained the keys to my car by deception. This father and son team rely on presuming. The father is underhanded. I agree I became rather petty about quoting the law, but I have never faced such rudeness from a business ever before. Please don't use this company. They are delivering the car tomorrow and in the meantime I have obtained a bankers draft.
I brought an Audi A5 convertable in July 2013. About three weeks after purchase I noticed cracks…read moreappearing on rear left panel behind the nearside back wheel. I took the A5 into an Audi dealership for an expert opinion; they told me that it looked like the car had been involved in an accident (though it looks like a non-insurance repair). The body work was filled in extensively and sprayed over. The repair wasn't obvious when initailly inspected. But closure inspection showned a bodged repair at best. Over the course of three weeks driving the flexiing of the car body when driving over bumps caused the filler to crack. I approached the dealer (Gary Whitlock) who offered to repair the finish. I took the dealer up on his offer. On collection it was clear the repair was merely a botched attempt to cover the cracked paint finsh with a pencil brush adding volgar swipes across the panel. To add insult the person conducting the bodge also painted in their initials into the paint job! I was also told that whilst the vehicle was with the dealer one of his employees had gotten a parking ticket whilst using my car as a run-about! Now in December I've noticed the cracks re-appering. I've contacted the dealer (Gary Whitlock) who is refusing to refund me for the car. If I pay to have the repair done myself I think the ploblem will re-occur because the filler will cause any paint to crack on body flex. I regret dealing with this dealership and would strongly advice anyone thinking of buying a car from Imperial Motor Company (Botley Road) to think again and avoid doing business with Gary Whitlock. They buy cars at Auction and sell quickly for a quick profit, lord knows what he's selling you?!My case is going through court action currently.
