There is a serious design fault with our New XC90 tailgate which has caused £4K of damage likely caused by 'a small twig' (their words not ours) and they refuse to take any responsibility. We have asked for answers as to how this can happen to a £53k car and all we get is that 'this is not a manufacturing or material defect' and so is not under warranty. They have also told us that it could quite possibly happen again. Are we really to accept this dispicable lack of accountability? We are not surprisingly shocked and whilst usually philosophical about these kind of issues, are taking this on. No customer should expect such appalling lack of accountability. To be continued...

I really like Nissan cars. I have one at present and I'm wondering if I should take advantage of…read morethe economic climate and trade mine in for a newer one, a drive a bargain. I'm not really into franchises, in fact I've found that some are real sharks. However, pleasingly, the Nissan garage seems to be reasonable. I love my present car - not enough to wash it regularly or anything - but I love it's commitment to me, it never lets me down, and it goes on forever on fairly good petrol usage. I try to use it less and less - my daughter cycles to school most of the time, but I'm afraid the UK makes it hard to not have a car.
