I've been going here for a long time and no other office feels the same even with their high-tech equipment or cool attitude. Dr. Yamashiro, Dr. Fujita and his hygienists are the BEST in the Southbay! Dr. Yamashiro does everything from the heart, he's so genuinely kind and passionate about his work. He always answers all my questions and concerns. I never feel rushed and always feel very educated on my teeth or procedures at every appointment. He's just an amazing and wonderful dentist. His hygienists are just as terrific and caring as the dentists. They are thorough, detailed, super hygienic, and never miss anything. I feel absolutely squeaky clean after my visits. (Btw, absolutely love Cathy! -what a beautiful person she is! She's so thoughtful and caring). Once you've been here, you'll never go to any other office. I full heartedly trust my dentist and the office staff. It's so hard to find an office like this and I'm so lucky they're in the Southbay. Btw - They offer Invisalign at the office. The hygienists wear a mask, face shield, and gown and there are air purifiers in all operatories - This is a big plus for me! This should really be mandatory in all doctors/dental offices. Dr. Yamashiro's office really makes me feel at ease and safe. read more

!0 out of 10. I've never had to wait more that a couple minutes in the waiting room. Everyone is friendly and efficient. They work with you and your insurance situation. Dentists are far from my favorite places to visit but Dr. Yamashiro and his office staff always make everything very pleasant. He is very honest, doesn't try to get you to do procedures that really aren't necessary, and is very caring. Quick Summary: Any dental office can clean a patient's teeth but not every dental office can provide an extraordinary experience. I highly recommend Dr. Yamashiro's dental office. Fact: I need to clean my teeth, which I have not done since two years ago. Analysis: My two requirements for selecting a dental office were: (1) top-notch customer service; and (2) DELTA insurance acceptance. Solution: After spending a week reading reviews on Yelp and other websites, I narrowed down to Dr. Yamashiro's office! My Dental Experience: (1) Dental Hygienist Communication: 5/5 -Dental Hygienist was very professional and introduced herself to me and acknowledged me. Service resulted in an excellent clinical outcome--clean, healthy teeth. (2) Dentist Communication: 5/5 - Dr. Yamashiro introduced himself to me and acknowledged me. He was able to tell me what he was going to do and with valid reasoning. He also asked if I had any questions as a patient because as a patient my opinion matters. (3) Responsiveness of Dental Office Staff: 5/5 -Front line office staffers took their time and willingness to accommodate my busy work and school schedule. They even called me back to inform me that they could fit me in a better time slot. I can tell they are professionally trained because they were able to verbally communicate with me to wait for 10min with valid reason. (4) Discharge Information: 4/5 -It would be nice if reminders would also be done via email, instead of just a note that could be sticked to anything. But overall, I'm satisfied. (5) Cleanliness of Dental Office Environment: 5/5 (6) Quietness of Dental Office Environment: 5/5 (7) Overall Rating of Dental Office: 5/5 (8) Willingness to Recommend Dental Office: - As a graduate student studying health administration at USC, I highly recommend this dental office. read more

Many things in my life has changed over the years...but not the place where I get my teeth cleaned. I've been going to dr. Yamashiros my whole life. The staff itself is amongst, if not, the best. Everyone is happy and they always greet you and talk to you on a personal level. They manage to make a dentist check up a Lot more comforting than what you'll expect. Dr roger knows how to make you feel right at home and seems to be able to relate to all of his patients that come in. The check ups are excellent and don't take too long at all. They've always given me a to go pack with an extra toothbrush and travel toothpaste with some floss. Everyone is so professional and even the people working the front desk try and address you by your name for that personal touch. Parking can be found in an underground structure of the building. Once you park you go to the top floor and find the dentist office that you will be going to for the rest of your lives! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! read more

Dr. Yamashiro is the best!!! I had two teeth extracted today with technically no pain!!! His procedure is usually very smooth, painless, and stress free. He made my crown in house so for a busy working person like me, it's totally awesome. He is always welcoming and his staff is so friendly and professional. He just left me a follow up message in Japanese! I can understand English perfectly but he always treats me with Japanese care, lol. Thank you Dr. Yamashiro. Updates: after 36 hours later, no sign of swelling, absolutely no pain or discomfort thus far. I'm very happy about the result! I didn't even need any pain killer after two Advils right after the procedure. ;-) read more

I went to see Doctor Yamashiro last Thursday morning. It was wonderful that they open at 7am on every Thursday, so I don't need to take my workday off. Super awesome! He is the best dentist I've ever visited in CA. Efficient, nice, and no pain! I highly recommend hime! Oh BTW, they gave a really good price! read more

I have been to many different dentist in different corners of the country and Dr. Yamashiro is probably the best. Very knowledgeable and caring. His staff is pleasant and caring. People would not fear going to the dentist if they were like Dr. Yamashiro. I have been to multiple dentists that are always looking to make an extra buck off your visit. Not the case here at all. I had a visit with them to see about a possible cracked tooth. Guess what? They did not even charge me for the exam. I just had my teeth cleaned last week by Cory, and it had to be one of the most pleasurable cleanings I have ever had. 0 pain. I cant tell you how happy I am I found this place and would not hesitate in a second to send anyone to this practice. The office is state of the art and operating room clean. If you are searching for a new dentist this is the place for you. Trust me when I say I know dentist, and you won't find one better. Thank you for being such a great practice. read more

Knowing how everyone hates going to the dentist, I really like this place. Parking is available and free. Everyone is so friendly from the time I enter to the time I leave. I was seen by Dr. Fujita and he was very knowledgeable and took good care of me. He really spent the time to tell me in detail why my tooth is hurting and what my options were. I highly recommend this office to anyone if you want great quality of care. read more

Life is full of problems, I was able to solve one of my problems by finding Dr. Roger Yamashiro. Taking care of my teeth. Conveniently, his office books me twice a year for check up and cleaning on my way to work. A few weeks a go on a Saturday I chewed on a hard candy which pulled out my crown. I took a photo, texted it to Roger, and Monday morning he had it cemented in. How can you beat that? He is the best. read more

I see Dr. Corey Fujita at Dr. Yamashiro's practice, and he is the best! Actually, everyone I have met there has been awesome! They have early appointments for people who can't miss work, the office staff is extremely friendly, and the parking is easy and free. I have been going to this dentist for years, even though I moved to Orange County recently. What made me write a review is Corey did a root canal for me yesterday, and I was amazed at his care. He knew how nervous I was and took extra precautions to make me feel comfortable. The assistant with him was amazing: she practically read my mind. She understood what I was saying even with all the stuff in my mouth, and really took care of me. I will never go to another dentist! read more

Dr. Yamashiro is by far one of the kindest and most knowledgeable dentists in socal. He has a gentle touch and an amazing technique. You never feel a novocaine injection and he remembers his patients not just by name but their previous visit and personal stories. After encountering several other practicing dentists, I can say that Dr. Yamashiro is one of the best out there and you'll never want to go to any other practice once you feel the immense amount of care you receive from his office. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Yamashiro for years and I must say that he and his staff are awesome!!! Both Dr. Yamashiro and Dr. Fujita are extremely patient, professional and always on time, without ever making you feel rushed. Dr. Yamashiro has been my dentist for 20 years now, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. The best dentist I have ever been to. Including the hygienist. She was awesome and took an hour to clean each and every single tooth by hand. Down-to-earth, genuinely nice man and honest? Yes, that's right. A previous and former dentist told me I would need a crown soon. He told me no, that's just staining on your filing, not a crack. I was shocked, lol. Thank you so much Dr.Yamashiro. See you in 6 months! read more

Roger has been our family dentist for many years...I highly recommend him!

Dr Yamashiro and his entire team are true professionals. I've been a patient / client for about 15 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Not just top notch technically (for which you may expect to endure some inconvenience) but top drawer from an engagement 'tuned in / turned in' point of view. So respectful of his patients time, I have never arrived for an appointment and been made to wait. They really get it, I can't tell you how refreshing in a world of lackluster service to be a client of such a great team of people. If you don't have a dentist yet, I would highly recommend (or if you don't experience this level of service and teamwork, you should know it is possible ) All the best, Chuck Kendig read more

Dr. Yamashiro is the best! I had to go in twice for a filling on both of my back molars, and I'm not a big fan of needles. It was painless and he did an awesome job. He always makes sure you're comfortable and that your dental experience is how it should be. The entire office is very professional and always on time. If you need a doctor you can fully be confident in and trust I would highly recommend Dr. Yamashiro! Been going to him since my first check up as a kid. I'm 24 years old and I haven't had a cavity until now! Pretty good! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Yamashiro for more than 15 years. I have traveled from Long Beach, Riverside, Arizona, and Texas for my appointments.(Yes, he is that good!) The service is always exceptional, timely, and accommodating. Dr. Yamashiro is very patient, professional, and friendly. He is extremely personable and remembers the little things (degree progress, personal and family illnesses, etc.). He promptly responds when I have emergencies and personally returns my calls. He relieves the stress from the dental visit by explaining all procedures, makes sure I am comfortable, and, above all, provides quality care. I even had him redo all my previous dental work. On the rare occasions that I have had to visit another dentist (for an X-ray or diagnosis only), the comments have always been, "You have excellent dental work! Your root canal is perfect!" In addition to my personal experiences, the praise from another dentist on Dr. Yamashiro's work further validates the expense of traveling to California for my dental visits. read more

What can you say about a friend who got you to the top of Mt. Whitney and back? That he's also a great dentist? Why not? All personal bias aside, I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Roger Yamashiro. My entire family of five (age 7 to 91) has been under his dental care for about seven years now, and in that time we've had every manner of work done in his state-of-the-art office--from routine cleanings and digital x-rays to on-site crowns and extractions. In every case, his knowledge and expertise, along with that of his talented, friendly staff, have been five star and above. I'll let others chime in on his personality and character, but whether you're meeting him for the first time or continuing a life-long friendship, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more compassionate or generous person, or such a skilled professional. Put him at the top of your list. read more

Dr Roger Yamashiro is absolutely the best! Competent. Efficient. Skillful. Caring and kind. I and my family have gone to him for about 20 years now and have never had a negative experience with him or his absolute wonderfully kind and incredibly thorough and competent hygienist and staff. I have had painless and no problems from root canals to crowns to cavities, painlessly done, incredibly perfect fittings..no returning needed to redo, or readjust, or problems. The entire office seems to immulate Dr. Yamashiro's competence and kindness. I love them all! I had been to several incompetent dentists before him who just couldn't fill even simple cavities correctly and had to repeatedly go back to file down the filling to allow correct bite,etc.. or cleanings that didn't feel any cleaner.. Never with Dr. Yamashiro and staff. They do a thorough cleaning and even my little children will say, "mom, your teeth are soooo white!!!" after I return from cleanings! Amazing! read more

This dentist , Roger yamashiro, charged my eighty eight year old mother-in-law, $1450 for dental work (she has upper dentures, installed by him, that never fitted properly) for tooth work that took thirty minutes! Her dental insurance paid him $640 as that is close to what the rate for that type of work (according to the insurance). They billed her for a balance of $815. When I called the office for a discount stating her age and limited social security income, Dr. Yamashiro called me in the evening and after lot of pleading, agreed to a discount of only $160. When I offered to close the deal by paying total of $1000 (including the insurance payment), as she was wheel-chair bound, with limited social security income, he got mad at me and said he is not into bargaining and that he treats her like his own mother. So I asked if he would charge his own other $1450 for such a short job; he did not answer. This is an unscrupulous dentist whose greed takes precedent over basic decency as how to treat senior citizens. My mother in law has barely enough for what his work is worth (his needs), but not for his greed, read more

Years ago I was DESPERATE for a new dentist. My previous dentist had done shoddy work and I was in dire need for help. My friend recommended Dr. Yamashiro and I balked at how far his office seemed (from Los Angeles) - - she promised it would be worth the distance. Boy, was she spot-on. I've now been a patient for at least eight years and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about Dr. Yamashiro's practice. His staff are very thorough and even gracious (especially when I have to reschedule cleaning appointments!) Dr. Yamashiro TRULY cares for his patients and it shows through how he interacts with you. I listen to his interaction with other patients and he is always consistent - - he's just a kind man who's very well-informed about dentistry and the latest treatments. I've had countless treatments from root canals to fillings (and everything in between) and each time I tell the office how they're the BEST in the business. If you are iffy on your current dentist and want the best there is, go see Dr. Yamashiro. It's worth the distance, for that I can assure you. read more
