Family Medical Group of Tampa, Inc…read more Sadly....my initial visit to see Dr Jorge Diaz was a disaster! His 1st time patient paperwork was 14 pages long! And "NOT ONE QUESTION " concerning my health history, or why I was visiting! I had a prior phone conversation with his office staff; I told them I was searching for a PCP that actually cared about me and my health....rather than seeing me merely as another medicare number. I also told staff I would not agree to sign policies covering late fees nor consent to office imposed testing for use of controlled medications prescribed legally by outside doctors (my lifestyle and personal choices none of anyone's business).....(And rarely do I take pain medication stronger than over the counter Advil or Aleve)....so I object on "principle." Plus, I DO NOT sign "blank" authorization forms to be filled out at later date. NEVER do I sign "uncompleted agreements or forms'....only a fool does that. When told I would not agree to these three "principals" in office policies, receptionist immediately jumped up to go get the doctor "to explain" forms to me. Without deviating too far off track, I believe both my education and IQ exceeded this doctor who tried to explain in broken English, the meaning of the verbage. Again.....nothing about my health or healthcare. I firmly advised the doctor that his "office policy" had zero to do with State of Florida contracts for use of controlled substances.....and totally his "business" choice; since I've seen many doctors in 60+ years, I can attest this is FACT. Of the 10+ potential PCP's I've "auditioned and interviewed" this was only the 2nd instance of this situation being shown to me. Possibly these two offices were in areas where "controlled substance" problems are prevalent? Or perhaps their practices had been in trouble with state authorities concerning these situations? NOT MY PROBLEM....Another reason to NOT choose Jorge Diaz as my PCP. I'll try to post a pic of this offensive policy which is illegal and violates many of my constitutional rights....as well as decency, privacy, freedom, and remember that "Hippocratic Oath" doctors are supposed to uphold. AS a medicare senior, I resent the treatment "many" doctors' offices have exhibited to me in my search for a truly caring doctor. Dr Diaz is not merely the latest to show zero compassion towards me as a potential patient; his choices of office policies are the most egregious breach of etiquette, decency, and legality----all delivered with stern words and hard stances. Which I returned as I gathered up the paperwork to beat feet out of that hostile environment. Diaz----you are FIRED! I pray for your patients and the lack of care they receive from you and your "practice."

He genuinely cares about his patients, and takes the time to get to know them. My mom had an irregular heartbeat from some health conditions, and medications, and he went through all of her meds and switched some that shouldn't be taken together. Her irregular heartbeat is a thing of the past. Thank you Dr. Díaz.
