After touring the historic sites of Tossa de Mar, I needed a break. This is not the height of the…read moreseason for Tossa thus many eateries were closed. The restaurants that were opened were offering full meals. I just wanted a few small bites and a beer.
I stumbled upon Can Tonet by accident; trying to find the Church of Sans Vincenc. The outdoor seating looked very inviting and it was a balmy sixty degree day.
The menu offers traditional tapas: olives, toast with ham and cheese, calamari, traditional cheese assortments with Iberian ham, potata bravas and much more.
I ordered the chicken croquettes that was accompanied by a red sauce. The croquettes were delicious; the sauce was delicious too but could have used a spicy kick.
Their cocktail options were plentiful: beers (full and mini), vermouth, cava, sangria and other varietals.
The zertig ( mini beer) hit the spot and was the perfect size for a midday drink.
The service was friendly and accommodating. The interior of restaurant was also charming. It must be great for locals in the summer to come from the beach and linger for awhile here. The beach is about a ten minute walk.
Thus, when in Tossa, dine like a local at Can Tonet.
