Steele Creek Lodge

This waterfront location has a huge rental space that can easily accommodate about 250 people...maybe more. Our party was only about 150 people and there was plenty of room for us to move around, dance and play games in addition to sitting at tables for dinner. We had eighteen 10-person tables and we could have added many more tables in the space. Also, outside the lodge there is a boat launch and a covered area with picnic tables and grills. The rental hall includes a large, attached, fully-equipped kitchen with refrigerator and freezer space. There is a huge fireplace, 15 ceiling fans inside and ceiling fans outside on the porch. There are restrooms inside and outside. This is a really nice location. It's hidden among mature trees that surround a lake and the lodge/park is easily accessible from interstate 65 and highway 43.

I want to say a special thank you to Anita (Wedding Coordinator) and her staff for making our…read moredaughter's wedding event occur with no issues and as a resounding success! Her dreams and expectations were exceeded in every possible way. My daughter and my son in law got engaged two years ago, they both live in Jacksonville, Florida. Since both families live in Baldwin County, they decided to have their wedding here. When we started looking for a venue, we were having a challenging time looking for the perfect place and a reasonable price. Until one day my co-worker told me she went to a wedding at Waters Edge, I right away went online and checked them. I decided to call and make an appointment. We met with Anita, she showed us around the place, and it was perfect they have a gorgeous establishment, covered pavilion with a fireplace for an outside ceremony and on the walkway to the pavilion there is an iron arbor that can be decorated on the day of the event. The property was big enough that you can choose anywhere on the property to have your ceremony. We then went to the reception area (barn) the place was very accommodating with lots of room and a nice bar. It has a rustic look with lots of old memorabilia. We sat with Anita, and we talked about everything that we needed to know. She was very knowledgeable and experienced with events. We discussed our options as a family, and we decided to go with Waters Edge. As the mother of bride, I had so much on my mind and worried about everything after talking with Anita, she made me feel at ease and assured me that she would help us give our daughter an elegant and very memorable wedding for our princess. We met every month to discuss our progress towards the event. At every meeting we discussed what needed to get done. Anita made recommendations for us to adjust as time progressed, she kept me and my daughter on our toes. She was very pleasant to work with and accommodating to all our needs. Anita and her team were amazing!! Also want to say thank you to the bartender Rebecca, her staff and our Disc Jockey (Anita's husband) for keeping the drinks and music going and accommodating our family and designated friends with special drink requests!! The place was amazing, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

We struggled a little in the beginning because of the contract, and the manager of the facility was a stickler for by the book, but other than that we had a wonderful event. It was safe and beautiful just as the others were before ours. We had heard scary stories, but our nerves were calmed after seeing for ourselves. We have even come back to do community events here. We realize why everyone comes to this place. Miss Sheena was very helpful and made sure that we understood things and how they worked. She was also great at helping us plan and have resources. She was patient even when we were freaking out. Hope this helps!

This place has a sophisticated country air with all the modern conveniences. I have toured the property several times and would suggest it to anyone looking for a beautiful setting. There are countless photo spots. There is a main barn that will comfortably hold 300 people. It is air conditioned and has concrete floors. It can be heated in the winter if you want a December ceremony. So if it happens to storm you can move the ceremony inside. I love the silo lined patio. Owner, Chad Turner has converted one of them into an outdoor "watering hole". I think there are at least 5 different outdoor settings that brides use for the nuptials. Pricing is very reasonable considering the fact that you can use all the buildings and grounds. Chad told me people even go fishing in the pond before the wedding. I was looking at using it for a business holiday event and plan to grab a date in December. I suggest you book a tour. I didn't take enough pictures to do it justice. Each piece invites you further into the space with a seductive gesture. Once you walk past the highly adorned pieces, you arrive at the open rental space. Unfortunately, I cannot estimate square footage, but I can guess comfortable party occupancy. I attended 2 parties here in the past 5 months. The first party had an attendance of about 400 people. There was a stage for the band. A large dancefloor, a place for 2 bartenders and 5 sections for the delectable food that was served. Including these plus, tables, chairs and people, this space was a bit cramped for that number of people and the all party's amenities. While that particular party was not organized well, the rental space was not an culprit in its disorganization. The second party was much, much smaller. There were only about 50 people in attendance. The food, drink spaces were more than adequate for this crowd. As a matter of fact, the large size of the rental space made the party seem very small. Overall, this is a really nice space for a party of up to 300 attendees.
