Downstage Productions is truly a very authentic and professional theater with heart. The actors are comfortable in their roles and execute their characters with style, grace and conviction. Again, while I felt the play was tired, the actors were not. The four in this play brought joy, excitement and laughter into each of their roles. There is everything from fine oils to watercolors to pottery to clothing to jewelry (they carry NO mignon faget). There is something for just about everyone here. There was no hard sells and the staff was very knowledgeable about the artists and their art. There is even a space in the back for an artist in residence to paint while visitors watch. No one was painting on the sleepy Thursday morning when I stopped in but the easel and a work in progress were set up.
