I should know, I've spent a fortune on dental work done by him. Including complex gum surgery. He keeps up to date and attends dental conferences on an annual basis. Seems to be constantly learning more than the bare minimum needed for continuous professional development requirements. Some of their dental hygienists are very good too; attention to detail and keep your teeth very clean. Some other dentists who clean, and other hygienists, have been nowhere near as good. If price isn't the highest concern on the list for you in choosing a dentist in the area, I highly recommend him.

He just applied more pressure to get the tooth removed. I did not feel like a patient or even a human being. I am traumatized from the experience - as a nurse myself, patients have the right to comfort, and compassion even during invasive treatments. I do not believe he followed the standard of care for my treatment and once he got my signature on the consent form felt liberated to butcher my mouth to finish the job asap... I intend to follow up with the practice board/ regulating body about this. Even with a consent form signed there is a standard level of care that needs to be adhered to and outcome/ injury level based on procedure needs to reasonable, which mine was not.

And I learned, woe befall anyone who shows their extenuating dysregulation or stress in front of these people. They can't cope. I was triggered into an episode one day going into their office, but sadly, for the safety of all persons concerned fell upon my training and apologized, I needed to depart quickly so I could work out the triggered issues outside, on my own, and then go home. It was about covering our shoes with blue disposable booties, in the wintertime, so their office didn't get sludgy. I stood still for a moment to breath. Because the day before I had been in the hospital with a relative, as I was all gowned up, gloved and wearing booties, and they took their last pill to say goodbye from COVID. My psychological pathology is tremendously affected mood shift and emotional dysregulation. I got as far as the mat inside the inner door, without booties on, and the office manager leapt from her desk to her doorway, escalating immediately to big cheese authoritarian, controlling, inexceptional, and condescending. Trigger. BIG Trigger and I don't think I'd be alone on that. I've had a very great deal of treatment for my challenges and there are all kinds of triggers. Blue Booties? Escalating authoritarian office managers? Nowadays, if I Trigger? I Freeze. Breathe deep 4 or 5x and leave. It's the right thing to do for me and others. It suppresses the immediate gut response to something very benign. Odd perhaps. But harmless. The exit saves anyone from seeing me, again rendering me harmless. The dentist lost the billing and yeah I feel bad, but it was far better that I left and spared them all seeing what I was going to experience. I've called back for another appointment, explained what happened, and the receptionist seemed very sympathetic. She spoke to a manager ( I guess the same one ) who instructed her to come back to the phone and tell me "we are booked for the foreseeable future, here, let me give you a number for another dentist". Truly the most transparent, bulls**t response ever. A capital letters, bold, italic and bold-faced lie. Clearly that manager is everything I said and more. I can't wait to tell my supports this story.

Fast forward to less than a week later, she's visiting us in Dallas, TX, she woke up in the middle of the night with severe toothache and swelling. Come today, Dec 19 the whole lower right jaw was swollen! I took her to our family dentist who took X-rays and showed us a HUGE abscess! She needs a root canal and crown! I asked specifically if a dentist could've missed it a week ago & was told due to the size and location, it was unlikely! In my opinion, this was nothing short of malpractice and I'd hate for anyone else to receive such sub-standard care! They owe my mother in law an apology and a refund at the very least. They screwed up my bite and I lost the ability to chew normally because my teeth won't come together anymore. 2 of the fillings fell out within 2 weeks. They caused so much damage to my gums on one side that its now a massive food trap that won't stop bleeding. They refused to correct or fix their failures. Both my dental hygienist(Laurie) and the dentist(Dr. Hussein) introduced themselves to me prior to beginning to work on my teeth, ensuring that I felt like a person more than just a patient or a bunch of teeth. Laurie was very careful and gentle in her work and checked in regularly to ensure that I was comfortable. She walked me through every step of the process, and was more than happy to answer any questions as they came up. Dr. Hussein was warm and welcoming thoughtout the entire interaction. He took the time to answer all my questions and was very detailed in his responses and explanation of what he was checking for. The facility itself was nicely decorated, well lit and very clean. The space felt very comfortable, yet professional. I am not someone who usually struggles with anxiety going to the dentist, but it was clear that this facility had measure in place in the event that someone was not comfortable. Even knowing that the team was ready to support individuals who weren't comfortable at the dentist added to my experience. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Trillium Dental Center if you're in the market for a new dentist.
