I loved visiting Helping Hands! I like that the proceeds help the local community. It was packed on the Monday we went but they had a great selection of stuff. I liked that everything was reasonably but decently priced in the "boutique" which had many name brands and nice quality stuff. In the back there was an "outlet"'with things priced from $1-5 depending on the item with most clothes being $5. Worth checking out! read more

Prices are high. Very cramped. This will be the first store. The second store is excellent. Ladies have wonderful customer service. Third store closed early before 5 - - it was 4:40ish. Something to keep in mind... you're playing roulette on which items they will and will not take. If its furniture and its not showroom ready, don't waste your time, gas, energy. If you wouldn't put it up for consignment, they likely won't take it. Everything gets sold, not given away. This was a nice place to find some treasures. Got some books for the kids, some home decor pieces, a race set for the kids and here was so much more Plenty of parking and connecting to the boutique store front. The thrift side was a bigger building behind the smaller building. Very nice walkway to go through with some steps here and there use caution. Was busy enough on a Monday afternoon though in a remote location. You would want to make a stop to see if they have anything you might not knew you needed. I've been scouting area thrift stores looking for tees for a service project. I was intrigued by the fact that Helping Hands was both a boutique and a thrift store, so went to check it out, even though it's quite a distance from my north Dallas address. I entered the boutique side first, and if the gal at the checkout hadn't told me differently, I would've assumed that a professional designer had laid everything out. It was so beautifully arranged, and lots of attractive items from which to choose. I found a like-new Liz Claiborne top for $16 and some wall art that is now in my guest room. Then I went over to the thrift store side. There was quite a lot for sale, and prices looked very reasonable. I didn't find the tees I was looking for, but I'm glad to know about this place and will likely visit again, esp. since its sales benefit the community. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, all clothing is $5 unless marked otherwise. I love the color coordination along with the sizing . I spent maybe 30 minutes in there looking at all kinds of wonderful cardigans and sweaters. I know I would have found a lot more if I looked but this place does at 5 so I'll have to come back ASAP. The employees are really sweet to me and showed/told me a little about this place. I definitely will be coming back for a ton more clothes cause this place is right around the corner from me. Total confusion as they have changed route to drop donations. No longer straight ahead and turn right now it's turn left, turn right, turn right again and the drop off area, NOT a huge deal but not well marked. As far as donating they are spot on. There is always someone there to help and unload. That being said I cannot agree with this organization being so over the top on prices particularly the furniture. I saw well worn furniture that someone donated and they want to turn around and charge hundreds to the rockwallians who can surely afford it.....BUT what about those who come there because they cannot afford the big box places and need a MUCH NEEDED BARGAIN? Well...you better make sure you pick a 50% off day (which is weird and why not just reduce everything?). And please...I get this is for charity...but they are boxing out those who really need a helping hand. read more

Nice enough folks with what appeared to be a great cause. Selection, at least when we visited was subpar. Prices on kids toys and several other items were exorbitant but media (books, DVD etc) was fairly priced. I will likely stop in again in a couple months since it's on my way, but I would not highly recommend per last visit. :) read more

This a nicely kept thrift store. Lots of furniture, frames, and clothing. I like how they organize by sections physically so it gives off a organized feel to the place. My bf got a pretty vase here so he took me here to check it out. Employees are nice and the day we went, on a Tuesday, apparel was buy 1 get 1 free. I got a decent purse and a ann taylor top just for $10. If you go to the room on the right for clothes, you give the items to the lady and they give you a paper which you pay to the left of the building. I thought I knew where I was going but nope. Then you come back with the stamped paper to get your goods. Idk, going to these places inspires me to sell my stuff. Just come and see what they have! read more

Have donated here for years and have always encountered the nicest most helpful people. I really appreciate what they do for our community and will continue to support their efforts. The food pantry is well run and they are sticklers for making sure everything is fresh and presented in an organized fashion. The store is organized and clean and everyone is willing to help. Reviews seemed lukewarm so I was hesitant to visit initially but so glad I did. Helping Hands (store) is truly a hidden gem in Rockwall! The store was extremely clean, fully stocked with a wide variety of items, staff was cheerful & while prices were meh/okay for a thrift store, they were having a 50% off sale that made it all worthwhile. My BF and I used to frequent this place eons ago for the nifty little treasures we would find. From nice designer shoes, purse, to a decent camera. Slowly, I noticed the quality of items seemed to dwindle. I know that thrift stores constantly go through new merchandise, but I found it hard to believe a thrift store that receives continuous donations in an affluent community, would start a decline in the quality of goods. I was driving away one day when I noticed a couple donating a nice designer set of luggage. So, thinking it would hit the floor the following day or two, I dropped in for a solid week, and nothing. Striking up a passive conversation with a new employee about that, and things in general that come in, I learned that 'helping hands' is routine business out back. Really now? That was a few months ago. I stopped going in a regular basis after this revelation. I did stop in the other day and was appalled to find nothing had really changed. For this reason, I was inspired to write this review with an expectation things will change. The rating is a reflection of this half-the shady end. And if anyone large and in charge over at helping hands reads this, you need to get a handle on things. Remove the ringleader and iron out the rest. Helping Hands as an organization on the other hand, is probably one of the most active and contributing organizations around, with strong community support and a small list of programs making a difference on a regular basis. From their health care services, to community service. This area deserves 5 stars. read more

Helping Hands is a great place to go shopping especially on the days that they are offering discounts for seniors etc. I also take a lot of things there as well. Kind of like---shop then drop off. or drop and then shop. I also like the fact that they come and pick up items. I haven't purchased from the store, but I've run into several issues with donations. The first time I went they were preparing for a storm and not taking donations. Understandable. I came back days later and was able to make the donation. The young man was fantastic at helping remove heavy boxes from my car. Then I came by at 11am today and they were closed for donations because they don't have enough space, but I could come back at 1:00. I came back at 1:30 and I was told to come back at 3:30 because they weren't taking donations. So I've driven there three times to be told they don't accept donations. I'm taking my stuff elsewhere from now one, not worth the drive to be turned away. Sadly they just missed out on about $2000 in sales from my "still have the tags on" Saks clothing. read more

Called before leaving Richardson to make sure they accepted furniture. The lady on the phone said that they sure did. I drove to Rockwell and pulled around to their donation lane and the kid there, with a big chew in his mouth told us that he didn't want it. The couch is in good shape with no stains or anything. I told him we called before making the drive, but didn't seem to matter to this kid. Never going back to this place to help Those in need. disappointed!. All the donations they receive every year and they mark the prices so high. They want 7.00 for a plain shirt when Walmart has the same brand new shirt for 3.00. A friend who is in need went there to ask for help, and they turn her down twice. After her 3rd trip they donated some mismatch beds that didn't even fit the frame. This place received thousands of donation. Not to mentioned the monetary donations and they don't help as they should. someone for sure is putting that money in their pockets. read more
