Get ready to sweat!…read more My friends and I stopped in for a class on a Saturday Morning as part of my bachelorette festivities. The dance studio is clean and inviting. The music was on point. So in my mind, I envisoned myself twirling around a pole gracefully ala Jesse Spano (Elizabeth Berkley- but she'll always be Jesse from Saved By the Bell to me) from Showgirls. However, I am apparently not graceful, limber or fit! Seriously- this class was a real workout, and the "pole play" is not as easy as it looks. Even the "floor work" was challenging, but sexy! My friends and I were all sore the next day. I could feel the burn in my quads, biceps, abs and rump. Although, I will admit it was one of the funnest workouts I've ever done. Amanda was our instructor and was ultra talented and full or personality. I'd love to return for their beginner's classes. *Insert body roll*

We've been dancing at Main Street Dance for almost one year. Since my girls have lived and danced…read morein Raleigh, NC, Hampton, VA, and Stuttgart, Germany, this studio offers us a refreshing change with more personal attention. This is the smallest dance studio we have danced with, but its size is perfect, and the owner (Wendy Naylor) is very hands on with all aspects of the studio and very personable with girls and parents, which translates into more personal attention. This is particularly important when you begin to reach the 'tweens age (between 8-13), when girls become even more self-conscious and their self-esteem tends to plummet. There is the opportunity to be in an active company for the more advanced girls and dance camps offered in the summer for those who wish to give dance or the studio a try. One thing we liked is the Christmas recital held at Campbell University in December. It was a mini-show which lasted only about an hour, but gave the girls great experience mid-year performing onstage and in front of a live audience, something particularly helpful for young dancers. We were able to purchase a very good video of the Christmas recital produced in mass locally by a group of the parents for $5 each--sooo much easier than trying to video the recital ourselves too! Main Street offers dance leotards, tights and shoes, as well as snacks & water bottles, all on site for purchase at very reasonable prices, which is very convenient. And this year, our monthly tuition included the costs of our costumes for two dance recitals -- a Christmas recital and the Spring recital. This is VERY helpful to parents to spread the cost out over the year instead of having to make a down payment in the fall and a final costume payment in January, right after Christmas expenses, as we always have had to do at our other dance studios. There are two studio classrooms at Main Street Dance. The only downfall we've found with Main Street is that the facility is somewhat small, particularly one of the classrooms. It can be frustrating for the girls when there are a lot of girls in a class. Oh, one thing that is also very convenient. Wendy and Main Street have been around a while and are known by many of the other area dancers. Recently, when we had to purchase a pair of jazz shoes for my oldest daughter, we realized she didn't have her tights for dance photos. The owner of Releve, a dance shop in Holly Springs, picked up the phone, called Wendy, and had everything worked out for us in less than 3 minutes! This "network" of support for supplies is particularly helpful and convenient--and better than anything we ever had in the larger cities we danced in! We highly recommend Main Street! Highly competent instructors. The staff at CBC are all highly skilled, and will help you improve your technique regardless of your current skill level. 2. Lower prices. The price per lesson at CBC is quite a bit less than the typical franchise studio. 3. Great atmosphere for learning. The staff is very friendly and encouraging, allowing you to learn at whatever pace you feel comfortable with. 4. No contracts. Unlike some franchise operations, you are not pressured into signing any contracts designed to prevent you from switching studios. Since CBC is a such a great studio, they don't have to worry about that.

She doesn't care about your child at all compared to the good dancers or her favorites! This dance center isn't worth crap! Waste of time and definitely a waste of money! Wish I sued this place before my child and I moved to CC&CO a few years back! Do not go to this dump of favorites only!

He understood what I wanted in the dance and choreographed the perfect dance. My son lives in Seattle WA and Jake along with the whole AMDS team (Tony and Karina) gave my son a zoom lesson so he would be up to speed on the dance since we couldn't practice locally. I can't express how grateful I am for their time and thoughtfulness. Along with my mother/son dance, Jake taught me beginning salsa and other latin dances.
