This is an okay piercing place.. The piercers are okay also- I have nothing outwardly bad to say about them. The things that I did not enjoy; they are extremely understaffed, wait times were long. The piercer put the wrong length of studs in my ear- they were too long and prevented the piercing from healing correctly. Same happened with my mom- the stud was WAY too long. We went back, explained the situation. They charged us $60 for just 4 measly new studs- extremely overpriced, as they presumably buy these in bulk. The original lobe piercings + jewelry ranged from 80-100$. When we got the new studs, we left (after waiting for a very long time just to buy the studs, not even to get pierced this time!) ... in the car I realized that he had given us the wrong TYPE of studs (pop-in studs but we needed screw-in studs). So we had to turn back around and wait AGAIN for replacements. We explained in detail what had happened and what we wanted (studs that fit appropriately) so he took us to the back and replaced them for us - then during this he realized in fact that I was not crazy and that he did sell us the wrong studs. Again, It felt rushed since he was the only piercer on a busy Saturday. We left, and shortly after I realized that my new studs were EXTREMELY tight and short- I had said multiple times that I simply wanted identical length studs as my first holes. My mom ended up with studs that are still way too LONG. The purpose of wanting these particular flat-back earrings is so it will be comfortable to sleep in- and after the multiple times we tried to explain the situation in detail, the new studs are still not comfortable or what we asked for. We avoided going back for a THIRD time, though, since we didn't want to wait and have to try and explain it to him all over again. So after all of that, we still are not very happy and my tight earrings are struggling to heal, just as they were with the long studs. I want to emphasize that the piercer was extremely FRIENDLY however, I am not quite sure why he didn't understand the simple request that we had of replacing the absurdly long original studs. I might be back one day as a last resort, but not any time soon. read more

When going back to simply have my jewelry placed back into my ear after having a surgery, I had to convince Brad that he was the one who sold me the ear piercing jewelry. I would like to first say that this is a beautiful shop! Very clean. Friendly staff. However, IMO WAY OVERPRICED. I have about 13 tattoos so I know the average price of what most things will cost. I got two small (initials) letters behind my right ear.. and then a name in cursive (also a small tatt) on my left hip. I had to pay $40 dollar deposit to hold the appt, okay no big deal because generally that takes away from the total cost. So when it came time to pay for the total cost and he said $120 I was surprised. That's $160 for 2 small tattoos that were just letters. I've had a face outline drawn on my shoulder by my regular artist and she only charged me $150 and the lines were perfect. The tattoos I recieved last night weren't bad.. but by The time I left a $20 dollar tip (because I always tip) that was $180. Crazy. Both tattoos took maybe 20 min total to do. I don't know where to begin. My friend and I have been wanting matching tattoos for years. When we heard our favorite musician was coming to Raleigh on 10/1/22, we booked tickets, then immediately booked to have our tattoos done. You'd think a parlor with a nearly five-star rating would be the place to go, but apparently we were wrong. Let's start off with the fact that there are two places with identical names within fifteen minutes of each other but this was never mentioned when my friend put down a deposit for the appointment. We showed up at the wrong location and in turn ended up at the correct location after the start of our appointment time. When we arrived we told our artist that we had decided on getting the tattoos on our middle fingers (which my friend had mentioned when she put the deposit down). We were lectured on the downsides of finger tattoos (fading, etc.). We were fine with this. Immediately upon entering Vic's room, I was uneasy about the placement of my tattoo so I asked my friend to go before me so I could think about it. Nevermind that the artist took a personal call randomly, disappeared once or twice, worked at a snail's pace, made fun of a different tattoo of mine and how long I told him it took the artist, and insisted he would FREEHAND THE PIECE; I was just nervous about the tattoo itself. When he was finally done with my friend's piece I was feeling a lot more at ease (likely because I had over an hour to come to terms with it). I told the artist to emulate exactly what he had done with my friend's tattoo. He said that since he had already done it once, he would be much quicker with the second one. He was not. My tattoo took nearly as long as my friend's tattoo. It was going fine, until the artist paused and said, "I fu**ed up." Yeah. He accidentally attached the pieces of my tattoo together. He didn't apologize. Instead he said that he had become too distracted talking to us and forgot to make the top part of my tattoo shorter. I am speechless at the outcome. Attached is a picture of my tattoo which is now fully healed. Some portions are not even shaded in whatsoever. Others are clearly halfway shaded. We saw him dip the needle once to twice during each tattoo. I wasted four hours of my time and $100 on this. read more

Here's my incredibly lopsided nose piercings. This was the second attempt at making my nose studs symmetrical. The first time, he said "it's definitely even." I had him redo it, and he convinced me I was just looking at it wrong because it was definitely even. I've learned that when a professional licensed person tells you something like that, they're probably right. I paid and tipped as I always do and thought it would be fine but I couldn't stop focusing on how unsymmetrical my piercings were. I was honestly too nervous to go back and have the embarrassing confrontation of telling a piercer they made a mistake, so I went to the other rock n roll location. Luckily they fixed it and said I should try and get refunded for the price of the piercing itself. Unfortunately, they don't do refunds. I spoke to the manager Terrence who told me that since I was happy with it, paid, and tipped, there's absolutely no reason I should get refunded. He started putting words in my mouth and blaming me for the entire situation. Essentially, it's my fault for getting a crooked piercing because I didn't notice immediately. No apology or anything either. You don't have to refund me but you don't have to push blame onto the customer who paid for something they trusted was done correctly by, again, a licensed professional. I was gaslit into believing my piercing was straight, but that can't be possible because "we don't gaslight here." How are you gonna gaslight me about being gaslit??? I felt like I was on the phone with my abusive ex. Moral of the story, check reviews. This isn't even close to the first negative one, Terrence. You should think long and hard about that as the manager of a business. read more

Ok y'all so I've been HUNTING for a new artist in Raleigh because I've been dying for a new piece. I made an appointment for a consult here today and they ended up getting me in right then. That was really awesome because I was really excited about a few ideas I've had. I'm a big fan of nature themed tattoos so I landed on a classic. It was a really cool and clean place and I liked how the artists each had their own rooms that we decorated and had music playing. Casey tattooed me today and hopefully that won't be the last time she does because she did an outstanding job and we had great conversation. I called this Rock n Roll on Capital blvd to simply ask how long do you have to wait to get in the pool after a nose piercing. A girl placed me on hold and then Brad picked up. I asked him the same question and he asked who did the piercing. When I told him who, he hung up on me! Update!!! I went here on September 18th to get my nose pierced. I figured it should be pretty simple and easy...but was I wrong. Please do your research and ask lots of questions before you get this procedure done. I did snag my piercing a few days later and also caught a really bad cold and was sick for like 3.5 weeks (not good for a fresh nose piercing). I developed the dreaded bump and went back to check on it and see what to do for the bump. To make a long story short I went probably 3 or 4 times and even got the jewelry changed. They were extremely helpful and patient and the shop is clean so that is good. They had great information and I tried everything and nothing worked. About 10 days ago I decided to get a second opinion just to see. They gave me a cleaning solution and told me it might actually be my skin being irritated by the jewelry and to see how the solution and another technique worked. It got slightly better and would not go away. I went back in this afternoon and told them I think it may be the jewelry (I have sensitive skin). When they took the piercing out at the other establishment they told me that the jewelry was not a good metal and wasn't handled or bent well. They also said the angle wasn't a good angle for a nostril piercing. They changed and it to a better metal with a post. I knew something wasn't right because the bump was there for about 1.5 months with little to no improvement. Be sure to always ask about the metal and do your research. Also I asked about the price at the other shop for a hoop to change it when it fully heals and they told me $60. At Rock and Roll they cost $10. That's a huge difference which says a lot about the quality....when it comes to your body (especially your face) don't be cheap. If the price sounds too good to be true then it probably is. They are all very nice and helpful, but be careful and ask questions and do your research! read more

I went here to get my tragus pierced and took my step-daughter to get her third lobal piercing. Lee was our piercer and he was AMAZING. He was very friendly and professional. I'm not leaving a 5 star review simply because of the rude receptionists . (Unsure of her name but she was a heavy set woman maybe Latina with black curly hair) I called ahead of time to set up an appointment for my step-daughter and I. I told them her age (14) and what we wanted to get pierced. When we arrived for our appointment, the receptionist asked how my step-daughter (who is white) is related to me (I'm black). I told her she was my step daughter as I'm obviously married to her father. The receptionist then said "well do you have the paper work proving your guardianship" of course I don't just walk around with court paperwork proving guardianship as I don't even do this for my biological children. Luckily my husband was waiting in the car so I called him into the shop where the receptionist didn't ask for his proof of guardianship, just for his license and which she also had my license. I literally could have brought any white man inside of the shop and said that he was her father as long as he was white like my daughter, they approved. Last night, on a some what random--but long time coming--whim I got a piercing. I'd always wanted it but I am terrified of needles. Originally we go to the new location on Glennwood (which has 50% off tats, with a base fee of $50) talked to Remi for a bit--very nice, cool dude, then we headed over to the Capital location because the piercer is there. My friend got pierced by Fred, but Lee was working. Lee looks like your standard tattoo/piercer cool dude but he's even cooler once he talks because he's laid back, it makes YOU chill a little bit--yet professional, which, we all really want as the same time! He was patient and calm which positively affected me and in turn i began to calm down. From all accounts--this piercing was supposed to be significantly painfully. I kid you not: it felt like a pinch and it was over! I want to attribute that all to Lee because any website or person you ask will say it hurts but he was quick, calm and precise! Location: if you are coming from 440 you'll pass it on the left and make a u turn at the light. Cleanliness: good general sanitizing practices used considering the establishment Customer service: Good! Went to Rock N' Roll on Valentine's Day for a couple of piercings and it was a great experience. The guy who did my piercing was Lee, who is very professional and friendly. Not overly chatty, which can make people even more nervous- he talks just enough to distract you and it's over before you know it. I called ahead and was told an appointment was not necessary but I did have to wait around about 25 minutes. Between it being a Saturday and a holiday, they were busy and getting busier still as evening fell. I took off one star solely bc of some front-desk disorganization (they actually served the girl who walked in behind me first, but we're talking MAYBE an extra 10 minute wait) & because I think they should post the piercing schedule on their website. The owner of the shop asked another artist if he wanted to make a quick buck which would've been, but the artist was rude about it and criticizing the tattoo how it wouldn't be quick. The owner decided to do it, and it took just about 20 minutes to complete. I was very pleased with my tattoo and I tipped him too. I've also gotten my eye brow pierced by lee and I enjoyed my experience with him. I came in last week just to get some flash art, they were all super nice and started drawing it up immediately once I picked one (took me awhile ha). Sean did my tattoo, he was really nice and fun to work with and super talented. My only concern was that it felt a little rushed.. The tattoo looked great when he asked me how I like it in the shop so I paid and went on my way. Well My tattoo has healed up, and you can now see that line work is pretty messed up. I'm not that happy with it, but it's on me forever so I'll learn to love it. I would still recommend the shop, they have amazing artists! I would like to start off by saying that I am new to getting tattoos and this was my very first tattoo. The guy that handles making appointments and dealing with the customer is extremely rude and unprofessional. He made rude "jokes" and I felt so uncomfortable around him but I figured since he wasn't going to be my artist that it would be fine. I get there on time for my tattoo and the artist barley says a word to be about the tattoo, the placement, the cost and doesn't walk me through what he's doing or going to do at all. While we were in the room and he was tattooing me his phone rang and he picked up his phone (which is the dirtiest thing someone can own) and stop doing my tattoo and talked in the phone and then proceeded to continue with my tattoo without removing those gloves and putting on sterile gloves. Then when it came to discussing aftercare he was very short and bland with the instructions and keep in mind I've never had a tattoo done before so idk what to do. Then when it was time to pay I walked up to the front counter and the receptionist guy says "what do you want" and I tell him I need to pay and he laughs and says "you pay him" talking about the artist but HOW was I supposed to know that when no one told me and I've never gotten a tattoo before! Like I don't know anything about this stuff and it's like he excepted me too. My sister and I wanted to go to Rock n Roll off capital blvd, when we called we were told we would have to come at 3pm, to make an appointment at 4. When asked if we could do a walk-in, we were told we would have to come back. The person on the phone was very short and confusing, and when we actually got to the place, the same person told another customer that they could just walk right in. All of this wasn't a big deal, until we got into the actual room with the artist. I'm not sure of his name, an older man. My sister wanted a tattoo done a specific way, and since it was her first tattoo ever she didn't know the ins and outs of getting one. The artist disagreed with how she wanted it done, and went on to complain about how people are so stupid because of what we see on the internet. When i explained to him that this was her first time, he continued to go on about how stupid people are and she could find someone else to do her tattoo if she wanted to. We tried to keep the session going and change the subject, as i was already shaved and ready to go with mine, but he kept going back to how stupid people are for not knowing things about tattoo placements. My sister was upset by this point, having been made to feel dumb because it was her first time. The tattoos came out good, but his customer service and general personality were extremely off putting and i would never recommend this shop to anyone. Awesome shop. It's a bit on the divey side, but not in a "oh god, will I get hep C from this place" type of way. Staff is chill and answer any questions. The tracers are great and really try to capture what you're looking for. The artists are awesome and great at what they do. Their portfolios are all pretty impressive. Whether you want some custom piece, or one of the flash pieces, they never seemed annoyed at your choice, where some places, the artists seemed annoyed to be doing yet another butterfly, fairy, flower, etc. Definitely happy to have found this shop down here and can't wait to get more work done. read more

Will is very unprofessional, unpleasant and made my partner and I very uncomfortable. His work is great BUT he made disrespectful comments to my significant other's face about them and asked me a lot of very personal intrusive questions. He was also very rude to the front desk workers, sighing dramatically and answering with a "you're wasting my time" attitude when they needed approval for tattoo appointments and pricing. He is inconsistent with pricing as well and complained the whole time about how the front desk people don't know what they're doing scheduling his appointments. I have gotten 4 tattoos from this place by Kamil (who is amazing highly recommend) but Will's whole attitude turned me off from wanting to go back. A tattoo artist is supposed to make the client feel as comfortable as they possibly can. Sad. read more

Don't ever come here. These workers are very rude and disrespectful and will lie to you as well as their shitty attitude. And will lie to you if they don't like what you want to get. I came with a friend so she could get a tattoo. Spoke to Jason hassel about getting one myself and asked how much it would be and he said 160$ and told me to come the next day. So i did but he wasn't even there, another employee told me Jason would be there the next day from 12-8 and to just come on back because his schedule was completely open. So I did just that and came back today at 12. Showed them the same thing and told them where i wanted it and a man behind the counter went to ask Jason if he could do it and said "he can't he's completely booked" so i asked if anyone else could. Another man Sean refused to do the tattoo on my neck/shoulder i asked for. And i got unwanted opinions on the tattoo i wanted for my birthday. I thought it through so i knew i wanted it. Man behind the counter told me i would be looked at as a "piece of shit". Didn't need or want his opinion. So when i agreed to do the same tattoo that was priced at 160$ but smaller in size and on my arm it was all of a sudden over 200$ and Jason was magically not "fully booked" again and could do it now. Bullshit. And when i told the other man at the counter that i had the money he looked somewhat shocked as if he was banking on the fact i would simply leave because of a ridiculous price. Shitty service and experience. Not to mention they have given a shit experience to both of my sisters as well. They shit talked my sister for the one tattoo she wanted on her shoulder of a pitbull and fucked up a piercing for my other sister and we are "owed a free piercing" bc of it.
