I've been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and I've been to the British Music Experience when it was in London. So I had high (pun!) expectations for the Rockmuseum here in Munich.
Yes, it is "Not the greatest, but the highest rock Museum in the world" according to their website. And yes, it's true. 185 meters up on the observation deck of the famous Olympiaturm (Olympic Tower), this small exhibit of some rock and roll memorabilia is presented.
Posters, tickets, newspaper clippings, a jukebox and a few interesting pieces that you sure won't see elsewhere. Such as a pair of leather pants that Freddie Mercury wore and the mirror piano belonging to Elton John.
I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you're already doing the Olympic Tower then you can see the Rockmuseum in between looking at the great view.
