I found a Groupon for a Amsterdam Light Festival tour that was done by this company. Never again. I was used to the great experiences I had with my husband and toddler on the Blue Boat Company's tour boats, and this was not that.
First of all, they have no individual tables, or even individual seats. Everyone is clustered on a bench around the edge of the boat, and there's sort of additional seating on the island in the middle of the boat where they serve their tray of dry pretzels and peppernoten and one (1) single mandarin. Imagine the look of horror on the faces of everyone in this overpacked boat when I walked on board with my husband and 2.5 year old for a 90 minute lights tour. People were not happy, and neither were we. We managed to keep our little one contained in her little 10cm square of island seating, but it took a lot of effort. It would have been so much nicer to have our own little table.
Secondly, they don't really have windows on the boat. Instead the holes on the sides of the boat are covered with a crinkly thick plastic, which makes it impossible to take any decent photos. Also the lack of real windows means the boat is cold all the time.
Thirdly, and this is almost negligible after you get used to fighting over butt cheek territory with someone you've never met before on that little middle island of seating, while freezing your butt off, they offer a very limited selection of food or drinks on board. You can't order anything customized. You have the choice of one paper cup of gluhwein or one paper cup of hot chocolate, and that's it. Add that to the pretzels, peppernoten and one (1) mandarin, and it makes for a pretty sad party. read more
