As a matter of fact, when schooled switched to online learning in March 2020, she cried and cried because she wanted to go to school to be with her teachers and friends. If we ever had a problem, which was really rare, it was addressed by the teacher and the principal in a timely manner. Ms. Rosa (2 year old teacher) is gentle and so loving with the toddlers, so much that I feel I'm leaving her with a family member. When I go in there it's "take your elbows off the table" "no chewing with your mouth open". This is the way I was raised and I really appreciate the fact that they go the extra mile to teach them home manners. Believe it or not, they serve real food here as well, not just chicken nuggets and fries out of a box. For breakfast my LO gets French toast with fruit, pancakes, etc. And for lunch it's always a home cooked meal like rice and beans with chicken and salad on the side. The overall positives of the school are cultural diversity among the staff and student body, a family feel, and friendly, caring faculty and staff, as well as building updates on the preschool side. Preschool Pros: curriculum Preschool Cons: Teacher retention; on average, children go through at least 2 lead teachers a year, and it's a revolving door for assistants. When our children were attending SCAWG, it was advertised as an advanced curriculum school; it's not. We withdrew our youngest child first because it's easiest to succeed in surrounding charter schools' lotteries when entering kindergarten. Youngest attended from age 2.5 - 5 (VPK). Youngest is testing above grade level in ELA (was even promoted to grade 1 phonics class at new school) on Florida's statewide standardized assessments (F.A.S.T); however, Math results were below grade level. Elementary School Pros: N/A Elementary School Cons: no technology in classrooms, teacher retention, no behavioral specialist, inadequate disciplinary action, unrealistic amount of at-home supplementing, ineffective curriculum, no positive reinforcements for academic achievement, no standardized test prep, combined 4th and 5th grade class Oldest attended from age 3-9 (grade 3.5; we withdrew after mid-year). For context, in kindergarten, first, and second grade, the oldest had all A's with 1 B for the whole school year. Q1 of third grade all A's, one B, Q2 of third grade all A's, one B. Oldest tested at grade level in ELA on F.A.S.T and below grade level in Math. At SCAWG, they introduce concepts and move on quickly without allowing the child adequate time to practice or retain what they've learned. While every institution has its pros and cons, we're most disappointed by what we now realize is a horrible curriculum and questionable teaching styles. There are better elementary school options in the area than SCAWG, and I urge you to exhaust them. SCAWG Elementary turned out to be a colossal waste of money for us - it shouldn't have to be for you, too.

All parents want this for their children. I moved to this area about 3 months ago. I looked for a small local school for my children. I prefer a center of faith. I looked at Northland and willow creek and another school before I went to community alliance. I noticed there were mixed reviews, but I figured you can't really please everybody all the time, so I thought I would give it a try myself just to see what I thought. Even though I am definitely not some type of professional reviewer I thought maybe an honest review with it will give people a chance to make up their own minds. I wrote down my thoughts when I got to my car. Now I did go back later in the day with my papers to intend to enroll but I just couldn't do it. Here is why. - I love that it's part of a church! - I love that it's small and kind of private and not really super close to a major road -I thought the redhead director was really pretty and seemed really nurturing (maybe a little nervous too) so was shocked she's not a teacher! -small ratios for the children -the church attached seems to do a lot of community outreach! -the preschool VPK classroom was very clean! I am sad to say that this is where the positives (for me) ended. -the gate you walk through to go in doesn't seem safe. It just flips and unlocks itself and it seems like ANY one or any child could get in or out! -there is a strange old building to the right that has green all over it and SMELLS like mold and mildew. That was definitely not good -the playground has broken steps and run down toys on it. Definitely doe not have much for the kids to play with at all! Looks like old swings and rotting wood? -inside was kind of sad. It looked very old and outdated. Paint faded or peeling, I'm not sure. LOTS of water stains on the ceiling!!! It IMMEDIATELY smelled like poop diapers when I walked in and then the next smell was mildew followed by maybe bleach that seemed like it was covering the smell a bit. The carpet looks older but not HORRIBLE. The tile in the floors looks old and worn but but unsafe. Maybe painful if the children fall though. Most classrooms were messy, and I did account that children play in them. There was just clutter in many places. I did ring a doorbell to get in but it didn't seem to work and the door looked heavy and I worry about fingers being caught in it. I saw at least one baby gate and I was just told by a school I toured that baby gates are prohibited in schools, and I am not a fan of them! The school info I found on the DCF site said that the school had some type of mark against it for a lack of supervision of children, and that was fairly recent, and the school can house about 40 or so children, however, they only had about half of that? Why? And why so many teachers with so few children. It just seemed a bit odd. I did still consider placing my children there until I found something cleaner so I filled out the papers with the intent to bring them back but when I came back, I went to the playground first. I heard children and wanted to see teacher interactions. EVERY SINGLE TEACHER was sitting down except one who was pushing some little ones. And EVERY teacher has their PHONES IN THEIR HANDS!!!! How is this safe? No one was watching the kids except the one pushing the swings! I actually took pictures of what I saw! And I took pictures when I stepped onto the play place to look for the director since no one answered the door. I did ask for names. There is a capri who just texted or was on her phone the whole time I was there, and these two young girls at the table ignoring the kids and playing on phones. One of them told a kid to shake it off when she got hurt! I videos it! The young girls are Cattie? Cait? Katie? Something like that and danielle. The Capri lady just yelled at kids or told them to go play when they wanted to swing!! I am disappointed. A lot. When I went to see the director again, she was even on her phone! I just like this isn't safe. I don't feel like the kids are being watched. Maybe they're loved but this place isn't clean and DEFINITELY doesn't seem safe. This is why I won't ever put my children here and I hope this helps parents who need guidance!!

The staff here is quite peculiar. I feel that the director prioritizes the needs of the staff over…read morethose of the working parents who bring their children here. Safety does not seem to be a priority, as the front door is often left unlocked, even when there is no one at the front desk. Additionally, they suggested placing my 18-month-old child with the 3-year-olds simply because he is chubbier than the other kids in his age group, despite the fact that the 3-year-olds are significantly larger and taller than my child. Every time I pick up my son, he is wearing soiled clothes, indicating that they are not using the extra clothes I provided. Furthermore, the director has threatened to file a false report with the Department of Children and Families, claiming that I was over 30 minutes late for pick-up, which is not true. Lastly, she has failed to properly investigate the staff member responsible for placing an unknown substance in my child's diaper. She told me it was muffins but failed to explain how it got into his diaper and on his private parts. I can tell each time I pick him up that he enjoyed his time with them. They are attentive and caring. I was also asked to let them know what the school was working with him on so they could continue helping him get on track with education. They go above and beyond and I'm eternally grateful.
