My two sons attended StarChild since June of 2022. When I went in to pick up our kids yesterday…read more(12/21/22), I received a booboo report to sign that Ms. Zuly scratched my 3 yo's arm causing him to bleed in classroom Preschool C. He had a bandaid over it so I didn't see the extent of the damage while there. Removing his bandaid for his bath showed my husband and I both a gouged out section that is not just a scratch. It is a clear scar of a full curved thumbnail from her digging so hard and deep into his skin to draw blood and leave behind such a wound. She claims she was hugging him but that would not result in the purposefully caused laceration she has inflicted the inner portion of such a small child's forearm. I have pictures to document the physical harm and the center had camera recordings of the room. They refused to let me see the footage from what she did and what other actions she may have taken against my son. StarChild claimed they didn't have video but calling th actual camera provider proved that all plans included cloud storage. StarChild refused to provide contact information until I spoke with the regional director - Liz Reece. I left a voicemail at 8am. Then called back at 9am. I finally spoke with her at 10:19am. She then drove to the location and said she spoke with the teacher and others who may have been in the room yesterday. Ms. Zuly claimed to have no idea that she caused this injury despite it being such a deep wound to draw blood. Ms. Liz "provided coaching" and when the location director got back from vacation at the end of the next week, more "coaching" occurred. This is absolutely unacceptable. For a teacher to cause injuries to a child and for a company to then pretend that "coaching" of a few minutes was sufficient is ridiculous. The only repercussion for the teacher was that she got a letter in her file stating that she needs to build stronger relationships with parents. DCF got involved and even the worker said an injury, such as the one inflicted on my son, was not possible accidentally. If you send your child to this facility, be aware they don't care about your child or their safety.

I would never take my child back to Starchild. After touring many daycare centers near Apopka, we…read morewere excited about Starchild Apopka/Wekiva. By day 3, our daughter came home with two finger nails completely ripped off, and fingers that were very red. It was clear that she smashed her fingers during the day, but the daycare had zero incident reports or any information on what happened. Knowing our daughter, she would have screamed her head off, in pain. On day 5, we started watching the cameras more closely because our daughter refused to enter the classroom anymore. That was out of character. We noticed that she was not eating lunch, yet the teachers marked her eating the "entire lunch" even though they removed the plate full. On day 6 is when we pulled her. During nap time, I witnessed one of the teachers grab her, use force to push her onto a mat, and threw a blanket on top of her. I could see my daughter crying through the video. When I arrived 2 hours later, the rest of the kids were playing, but my daughter was still on the mat, traumatized, and still crying. If you need a quick place to start daycare, and have ZERO options, then I would say to stay away. Your kids are safer anywhere but here. There are other daycares that are cheaper, with much better quality.

Updating this review as my son has moved up in classes within this childcare facility…read more I wanna say that he is really had a decent experience there, but I feel like this is all a business more than it is a place for kids to feel safe. My child would be transitioned very quickly after turning a new age and it was just really abrupt and I don't feel like the transition had the interest of the child at heart. It was more to get new children - into the facility to earn more money; And I do understand that it is a business, but I do feel like depending on the child, there should be some more compassion given. There were too many times that my child was getting hurt in the older classes, and I was finding out about it late or not finding out about it at all. If I Would find out it was through my child and then the teachers would confirm. No Incident reports were written nor did directors know (but I feel like that was more because it was pushed under the rug by leadership) I should've been called each and every time regardless of the severity. I feel like there was also lots of gaslighting going on. Saying that kids were getting expelled from the facility for their repeated incidents of bad behavior and hitting, and that was not the case (all in all it was to keep business and money flowing into the facility). Won't be back this year for VPK. I still believe that the younger teachers 2a and below are great and children will be taken well care of. Just can't say the same about the older classes. 3's class was not too bad. Destine and Chesney were such great teachers!

Where do I begin?!? There are so many great qualities about this place. Been coming here for last 6…read moremonths w my infant twins. And the one thing I can say is how fantastic the teachers are! The open door policy, the fact that they listen to concerns and provide feedback. They are always there for my kids. You can tell they really care about the kids and want the best for them. It's amazing knowing my children are in such great hands! I love the cameras and access to see what my kids are doing throughout the day. The pictures and updates at the end of the day. The fact that they're always willing to help and answer the phone w any concerns or issues. Everyone is very friendly and inviting. I'm glad I chose them. They've been great!

I used to go here for five years so I have a lot to say about this place like the lack of…read moreeducation, bullying, favoritism, lack of help for special needs, and hitting. You are paying a lot to have your kid go here when your kids aren't learning at all there is no teaching just teenagers. I got bullied a lot there.Once a tagged a boy during captured the flag two times and he screamed in my ear so I cried and hid for an hour then the boy who didn't lied and the counselor who saw the whole thing said I hit him in the head then I said he knew the truth he just said " Then don't tag him two times", then on my last day I still got bullied about it and the counselors did nothing about it. If your child isn't a white male like the kids who bullied me and the kid who screamed then they are not gonna do great. I got hit a lot and you'd think that if an aftercare would help and it'd stop mostly. Also there was a kid with Down syndrome and he got made fun of . Also if your kid is older don't let them go here because my older years were bad and this place is built for little kids who don't really have a life. They put these weird restrictions on phones when a lot of the people grow out of O2b's activities and it's they're not engaging just dodgeball, and red light green light. The only escape is the Tech Room which you only go once a week for like 45 minutes or at the end of the day for like a good amount of time and best believe you have to get there first because you don't take turns on the computers there. Also your child can easily access shooting games there take that as you will. Anyways I went there a while ago so I don't know if anything changed but they probably didn't since I was dealing with those problems for 3 years. Also I got called a border hopper and fatherless
