best bar in the whole world amazing food amazing people great vibes the only. bar in colorado left in Colorado where you can eat for under $20 get beer for less then $4 smoke a cigar on the porch while you eat and drink and listen to live music read more

Let's start with the good. The new girl in kitchen taking orders and the chef were very cool. Chef brought us our food. It was about 1030p. So apparently this joint transitions into a video game pool hall dude-festival. Ratio was about 20-1 guy/girls. The bartenders did a horrible job of checking in with customers across the entire bar area. Only hanging out near the well area. The bar back I asked several times to please ask a bartender to cash us out and he never did. Took about 15 min to finally get our check. Pretty decent place, late night food serviceable. Bartenders and backs need to step it up. read more

Bad service. More than one table complained and the food has gone way down hill. Small mc Donald sized thin pantie cheap bun burgers. Definitely not what the bar used to be. Higher prices as well. Shame used to be a go to bar read more

Stopped by for a quick drink while having my tires rotated across the street and so glad i did! Our server was so sweet (can't remember her name but she was blonde with tattoos), we sat on the patio which was such a nice afternoon vibe, the 4pm sun in the early October crispy weather was a perfect combination. We didn't feel pressured to have more than just our beer / seltzer and i loved the option of having a NUTRL, these usually aren't on the menu places. Reasonable prices, easy experience. Would totally come back. read more

The staff were very rude and unprofessional. I was sitting at the bar wanting to order a drink. I was waiting for 30 minutes without anyone acknowledging me and when I tried to get someone's attention, I was ignored. The place wasn't crowded. The food was terrible as well. I wish I could give this place a 0. read more

Service was fine , but the after hours food was terrible . I get that late night options are limited , but the quality of the buffalo chicken strips was basically dog food . Overall I was excited about this location until I came back after hours .... Guess I'll stick to normal business hours for food read more

Hidden Gem!!! This was our first time here and it is amazing! Awesome atmosphere, history and food. The staff is super friendly also. My husband did the Nut Buster Burger challenge. It is 4 patties, each with a dollop of peanut butter and 2 slices of bacon and a pound of fries! If you eat it in 30 minutes, it is free (regularly $26). This building is so fun and full of history and amazing decor. It has 2 full bars and a large patio. The inside is big with multiple pool tables and other games. They have bar seating, small and large tables and booths. They offer a large beer tap selection and a great menu featuring wings, pizza, burgers and bbq options. The Rock Rest Lodge is a new favorite! read more

This is coming from a bartender and this was genuinely the worst experiences I have ever had in my life. The only reason we went here was because they are one of the only places in golden with more than one pool table, the bartender was so so sweet (don't know her name but she had blue dye in her hair) there was someone in a red staff shirt walking around smelling horribly. respectfully if you can't uphold the fact that you staff needs to take care of themselves and be clean it already shows such a bad atmosphere. I walked in with my fiancée and the first thing that we saw was a girl wearing barely anything, in all red and shorts that didn't even cover her butt. The entire bar is just showing off that they are trashy and don't care about their staff or the people that come to their bar. This place will not last with the way the staff treats the customers or how they dress. The food that we ordered was genuinely some of the worst food i have ever had from a bar. I've seen the reviews for after hours food so we came before to get some snacks and a couple beers and it tasted rotten and not fresh. I really wanted to give this place a great shot but everyone who worked here was rude and disrespectful. There is genuinely a good reason that we walked in and no one was there. We should've known from the start that it wasn't going to be a good spot. Not to mention food safety there was a dog(without a vest for a service animal) in the middle of the bar by the pool tables that the staff was petting and greeting without waving their hands after and I saw this multiple times. Reading the sign outside saying that no pets are allowed and seeing a dog inside right next to the kitchen doors is so unsanitary and fails so many health codes. Do not recommend this place it is a trashy bar with trashy people who work here read more

Had a very disappointing experience. During my interaction, I witnessed behavior that felt openly discriminatory and unprofessional. Comments that came across as homophobic were made, and the owner's attitude toward certain groups felt disrespectful and inappropriate. No customer should feel uncomfortable or judged when simply trying to do business. I hope the management seriously reflects on how they treat people and makes meaningful changes. read more

I love Cobb salads. I had just popped in for a look around, looked at a menu & saw Cobb salad. I wasn't really expecting too much when I ordered it but was gobbsmacked Wowzer! One of the best salads I have had. I wish I lived closer because just thinking about it , my mouth is salivating You won't go wrong if this salad is one of your favorites. Presentation, size, & price were all A+. read more

This place is known for their legendary wings and mozza sticks. I discovered it a few years ago and kept it a secret but I figured it's time to let others know. The dry rub wings are one of a kind and you'll never get it anywhere else. Their wings are WHOLE wings so don't confuse the prices. Service is always great, rough around the edges sometimes but it's a biker bar and I love it. They have a surprising amount of arcade games inside and some good ones too so kids can be occupied while you're enjoying wings and some beer. Highly recommended spot follow me for more hidden gems like this. read more

Smells a little funny in here...kinda like disinfectant mixed with old beer mixed with wing sauce... Otherwise, this place is such a cool find on a random street in South Golden. Open late and the kitchen is open until 11pm. The wings are legit and massive, don't worry about not ordering enough, 6 wings ought to do the trick for most folks. Don't forget to get yourself some tots, delicious! The service was friendly all around, it wasn't a busy night here on a Tuesday but they were accommodating even with us showing up super late. The coolest part of this place is all the games they have, great pinball machines (I'm an addict), skee ball, pop-a-shot, pool, etc. and they aren't overpriced. Will definitely be back! read more

For a place that looks like a total dive bar I had an amazing time. The price of the drinks were exceptional and the food was amazing for bar food. It has to be one of the best pizzas I've had in Colorado. The beef sliders are excellent. The nachos are amazing Hands-down definitely worth the drive. Highly recommend coming to this bar. read more

If the walls could talk. Super neat bar with amazing food. The chicken wings are not cut, so you get the leg and the bone in one. $2 bloodies and mimosas on Sundays!! I think this would be our game day bar if we lived closer. read more

I consider myself pretty much a regular here great selection of food great barbecue great prices good service and you might see a little booty cuz the waitresses dress that way. Today I had the pep slab of barbecue ribs and I they're just delicious what can I say and I upgraded to onion rings for a dollar and I got coleslaw and a cornbread muffin with butter all for like 20 bucks and I have to take a lot of it home cuz there's plenty to go around. Another thing I like about it is that I can bring my dog inside with me don't be frightened away it probably has a reputation of being a Biker's bar but it's if that's just not true at least not during the day when I come thanks read more

The food is good but they include gratuity in your bill. Tips are my choice for good service. The amount they charged was less than I would have left if given the choice. I didn't leave additional for the fact I was forced to leave one. Won't be back. There's plenty of good restaurants in the area that don't do that. read more

Pretty fun place to go to day or night. Day time is more relaxed with music playing and good people around. Everyone is friendly and outgoing. The servers and bartenders are very friendly and good with making sure we have everything we need. The food is pretty good too. The wings are my favorite. Either the buffalo or Asian sauce. The burgers and bbq are definitely good too. Definitely recommend. Night time gets a little more crazy if you like to party. The music gets a little louder and cool lights come on in the back for the dance floor. If you like to dance definitely come check it out. Also at night the back bar is open so you don't have to keep walking up front to get drinks. But if you're not a dancer then you can stay in the front and hang out, watch what's on tv, or play some pool or a couple arcade games. Overall great experience here and will be coming back on a regular basis. read more

The worst bar I've been to in a long time. The bouncers were rude and acted like they were God's gift to everything. Complete jerks obviously management allows that. Then to go onto the bar service was also terrible. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to waste your time and money. Don't go here. read more

Think "hole in the wall" meets "dive bar" meets "go to place in town". Came for lunch and it was nearly empty. Service was subpar and took a while - had to ask for silverware, didn't get napkins and had to visit bar for drinks at times. Server was kind though. Food...to get it out of the way, the potato skins were sub par, there were clumps of cheese and other ingredients and I wouldn't need them again but they did the job. There was pools of grease I had to quite literally pour off them though. But the MOZZARELLA sticks - huge, cheesy deliciousness. Our group ordered 5 orders at lunch and didn't leave 1 to go to waste. We ended up coming back for late night fun the same day, the crowds were there, music was fabulous and the food service was great and quick! Kind staff, good vibes, and fair prices! Dance area was hopping and a great time all around! Would recommend coming for later in the evening fun for the crowd and music but would come again for sure! read more

We were there for a party on 2/7. We had rented the back room and wings and nachos were ordered, wings were good. Nachos were terrible! Very little meat and cheese, lots of jalapeño's on top and cheese wasn't melted. People complained and they put cheese on the leftover chips and served them. And to get drinks we had to go to the bar. Waitress was not around for us. We won't be back. read more

I've been here a few times now for a fun night out. The ladies night deal on Saturday is super good and makes it such a fun night out. Super cheap drinks and service is quick even when they are busy. The bathroom is surprisingly clean for a bar which I appreciate. The food is also so good and I love the wings. Overall great bar that is pretty big and has many areas if you find it too loud. There are a ton of games and a great outdoor patio. Probably the most fun bar in golden. read more

Great place for a guy to have a beer and something to eat! Service from the bar was phenomenal!

This place is suppppper divey, but has delicious wings and cheap drinks! It is always a fun and interesting crowd at Rock Rest, but that's why most people love it. Seriously, if you are going to go there, get the wings- they aren't your traditional wings, they are literally WHOLE wings with both pieces attached. They have a ton of arcade games, a pole, and people willing to live on the edge. read more

Not sure why this place has such low stars. Went there on a Saturday and got wings and some green chili tots. Along with a few drinks. The food was great and timely. The drinks were great and service just as good. I thought the place had a lot of character as well. They could potentially add some more TVs in the front area for sports and add some more chairs to the front bar but beside that I thought it was great. Will definitely be back. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! I visited on a Saturday night (ladies night!) with a stellar group of friends. The ambiance has a fun dive feel with animal heads all over the walls & a giant disco ball and pole on the spacious dance floor. The bartenders are sweet, positive, helpful, and prompt. With such great drink prices, phenomenal service, and a killer ambiance, I can't wait to come back! read more

Originally we were going to a brewery down the street but my friend said that we should stop as this place has an impressive history (it used to be a brothel). I'm glad we did. It is definitely worth a stop if you're in Golden/West Denver. The mounted rhino in the front of the bar is one of many interesting things to see. The place definitely feels like a local bar. Rock Rest is easily one of the most unwelcoming and poorly managed bars I've ever attempted to visit. We were denied entry for no clear reason by a bouncer who seemed more interested in power-tripping than doing his actual job. No explanation, no professionalism--just attitude. If you're looking for a fun night out, skip this place. There are plenty of bars in town that actually treat paying customers with basic respect. Total waste of time. read more

My husband and I stopped by the Rock Rest to grab lunch a couple days ago. In perusing their menu, I finally decided I was in the mood for a pizza. At $15 I assumed it would be a rather small to medium pizza. OMG was I ever shocked when they delivered it to the table! It was humongous! It was nearly as big as the table! And one of the best pizzas I've had in a very long time, maybe ever. I got the BBQ chicken pizza and it was loaded with so many goodies that I could only eat one piece, albeit a huge piece. My husband had a piece and we took the rest home. It was just as good when we warmed it up for dinner. Unbelievably good. Great service. I highly recommend! Makes me want another one just writing about it! read more

This joint kinda has it all: Rustic old joint, cute girls, cold beer! Huge old joint founded in 1885 as a Trading Post then a Brothel in the early 1900's and now a honky tonk. Walking in... huge main bar surrounded by high tops & pool tables; a few booths by the windows. There is also a large back room where the ladies used to be with a beautiful bar! Must see. Huge outdoor patio area as well. The menu is massive with many appetizers, a dozen different burgers, smokehouse bbq, sandwiches & pizza! We tried burgers and they were good. You want to sit at the main bar with the locals.. most of them are pretty friendly! Cute friendly bartenders make for great service and you can't go wrong here with a cold beer and a burger. Beware, the joint gets busy// Talk Later. read more

Ate here for the first time. My friends and I ordered the 50 pieces of chicken wings (BBQ and dry rub). The dry rub has kind of a sweet taste to it and it tasted amaaazing, but after eating a lot of it consistently, I started to get sick of it because it's so sweet. The BBQ wings was ok, I'd stick to the dry rub. The wings are served in these buckets and they are HUGE and we weren't even close to finishing them. They are complete full sized wings- drumstick connected to the wing so in actuality, we had 100 regular sized wings for 4 guys lol. We also ordered Totchos which is tater tot nachos. One order of this can feed a party of at least 4 so don't order sooo much like we did. The food were all delicious. One of my other coworkers took on their Jiffy burger challenge. I was told it was 3lbs of hamburger meat covered with Jiffy peanut butter in a burger form with bacon, tomato, and lettuce on a good sized tray filled with a pound of curly fries. The challenge was that he was to consume it all in 30mins. It's only a $16 challenge. If you lose, nothing, if you win, you get it for free plus a $25 gift certificate for the next visit that's if you don't have a heart attack after eating this. Unfortunately, my coworker failed. I love to eat and I can eat a lot, but I knew by looking at it, I wasn't gonna beat this because of the bun and fries. I know there's a technique to eating this, but look, I'm from Hawaii and cheap food places like this are unheard of in Hawaii so I wasn't trying to beat a challenge, I just wanna enjoy my food comfortably, but one day I will return lol. It's an old school-looking wooden bar with some history to it. There appears to be some nights with entertainment because there are apparently bras stuck up on the decorations in the ceiling lol. I don't remember her name, but our waitress with blonde hair and a nose ring was very nice and provided excellent customer service. The manager of this place was very nice too and has one of those epic voices that belong on a radio show lol. The parking lot is huge and there are a lot of table and chair to sit at including a bar. They have pool tables and other games. read more
