Last minute my friends and I decided to check out Big Bam Boom, a Hall & Oates cover band. They were pretty tight. Overall I enjoyed the venue. I loved the way the seating was spaced out and the staff seemed pleasant. The opener, Kickstand Jenny was good and brought back great memories from the 80s. Their rendition of Wrecking Ball took me by surprise but was really fun! I'd definitely check this venue for some surprising acts. read more

I had a lot of fun here! Being a Californian, my first thought was that this was the Los Angeles Lounge, but that is not so. You can't say "I'm from LA" around here; you need to be specific. Thursday is Ladies' Night, and ladies drink for free for $20. I hear they're very strict about sharing drinks and people get kicked out immediately, so be careful. However, other drinks are CHEAP, so you can buy rounds for your men without breaking the bank. I bought 4 beers for $9 and felt like a baller. AYCD includes any well drink or beer, and they are strong. I only got through a few of them, myself. The DJs are great and we had a lot of fun dancing... and there are also lots of places to sit and hang out. Unlike most other clubs, the bouncers are super laid back and you can come and go as you please. Stop by if you're in Destin and especially if you're a lovely lady; you won't be disappointed! read more

Also called The LA Lounge. The lowdown: Thursday night is Ladies' night: no cover and free drafts and wells all night. Guys get in with only a $5 cover. Everybody wins. Pool tables, ping pong, and excellent booty dance music. Open til 4am. Cabs are easy to catch outside. The particulars: Every inch of this place is crowded except the dance floor. I was elbowed in the jaw on the way in and burned with a cigarette on the way out. Riot gear wouldn't be a bad idea, but wear Spandex and heels and you'll fit right in. Drink heavily for best results. Bring friends. Consider a fight breaking out your signal to head home. If you're looking for a hoppin' gay bar, Ladies' night is an excellent strategy and you'll find a small contingent of like-minded women here. My take: I was lookin' for a good place to dance with plenty of people watching--the more crowded and the fewer flip flops, the better. The free drinks can't be beat, but the crowd--mostly men and very competitive young women--and the smoke got to me after awhile. Horrible place of business. Very unprofessional and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. They tend to set up events then break them because they are money grubbers. We tried to have a charity event with them and they just backed out. The event is for children ages 4-18 who are mentally, physically, and emotionally disabled. Our event was set for June 15th, 2013 and today is June 5, 2013. I have been a local for 16 years and I own a small business, I always try to support small businesses and they have lost that, as well as, I will be spreading the news. I really like this venue. It is on the smaller side, but big name bands come through all of the time. I have seen several shows here and I have never been disappointed. The acoustics are fantastic and the floor in front of the stage offers a great vantage point for all heights to see the bands. It can get pretty tight depending on the artist but the pit hospitality is always excellent. Even the smaller shows are enjoyable with great lighting and fantastic audio equipment. I am used to much larger venues and smaller venues with much denser crowds but this place holds it's own, especially for a smaller beach town. Tickets are pretty cheap and the venue is equipped with a full bar and outdoor smoking area. I always look out for the next show here! read more

When I went here, I ordered one beer and asked for a menu. The bar tender could not even make a simple suggestion on what's good. He was short, with me, and insisted that he doesn't eat here. He was making mistakes, and instead of owning up to them, he began to throw a temper tantrum, like a child. The other customers, at the bar, thought they'd done something to make him mad. I told him I'm a bar tender, too. He told me I wasn't a bar tender and not to talk, like I know what I'm doing, when I don't know anything. He, blatantly, insulted me. I said I'm just going to go, and before I could even get that out of my mouth, he, rudely, told me $4.50 and stood there, glaring at me, with his hand out. So I read the reviews on here and looked at their Facebook page as well as researched other "clubs" in the area before my trip to Destin.... and well to say I was disappointed would be and understatement. THE PLACE WASNT EVEN OPEN!!!! I was so excited to go and dance in a place that wasn't a beach club/bar and they weren't even open. My friends and I went to another place in Destin and the people at the door there said that LA Lounge is only open when they do events/concerts, LAME!!!
