My 16 year old son was interested in doing some climbing while on vacation in Montana. We scheduled a full day climb at Stryker. Not only was it beautiful with the creek running through the climbing walls, but the area had built in a diversity of climbing levels and challenges. Tim was his 1-on-1 guide, and our son could not have had a more positive experience. Tim catered the day of climbing and learning to meet him where he was at his climbing level, and he customized the day around skills to broaden his climbing knowledge and experience. Tim was incredibly personable and had a skillful way of imparting new information and assessing how my son was taking it all in. Safety was number one, and my son came away from the experience with increased passion for the sport. We parents came away much more at ease with the sport seeing how intentionally, carefully, and professionally guided the experience was for our son. Our teenage daughter belongs to an indoor climbing club so I wanted her first outdoor experience to be fun and safe And Rock Climb Montana did not disappoint. Everything went very smoothly, Link was very helpful through the booking process, answering my questions and providing all the information I needed. The Stryker rock climbing area is stunningly beautiful with walls of various height and degrees of difficulty. We were very fortunate that Lily was in a group of "one" the day she climbed and her guide Marya was excellent, very safety conscious and informative. She provided lots of instruction and tips and you could see the improvement with each climb. I felt very safe leaving lily in their capable hands and feel she learnt a lot from the experience. My cousins and I went to Rock Climb Montana yesterday and had a blast! Our guides, Cole and Isaiah, were awesome. They were very interactive and showed us everything we needed to know for how to belay, climb, and have a safe yet enjoyable time doing it! We picked up lots of skills on how to belay, back up belay, climb and many other useful skills. By the middle of our session, all of us were practically doing everything on our own, of course with Isaiah and Cole as look outs. There was also a beautiful lake right next to the climbing wall which had the perfect background noises of water rushing in the background while you were climbing. Rock Climb Montana was awesome! We worked with RCM to guide our participants in an afternoon of guided climbing during a wellness retreat we hosted in Columbia Falls. Link was easy to reach & flexible as we planned for our guided trip. He provided great information and had a good understanding of what would work well for our group. When the day came, all our participants had an awesome time. The guides were cheerful and friendly and the riverside location of Stryker Rock was quite lovely. There were routes of all grades to accommodate everyone's needs. The climbs were short (which was actually really nice for the participants b/c they were less intimidating) and a little dusty. Perfect place and people to rock climb with for the first time! Extremely knowledgeable and fantastic at accommodating different skill levels. Link and Cole were wonderful instructors. Great at building first time climber's confidence and teaching technique! They are extremely safety oriented while still making sure you have the best time possible! The locations for the climbs were gorgeous and it was all around the best rock climbing experience we could have asked for as a group of 15. Plus he recommended an awesome campsite for us. I had an amazing, thrilling experience. Our guide, Link, went above and beyond to ensure that my group had a safe and fun time. I had a bit of indoor climbing experience going in, and was curious about how much this experience would apply to outdoor climbing. The answer: somewhat. Thankfully, Link filled in whatever I hadn't learned, or learned improperly while climbing indoors so that I could complete the routes successfully. He has decades of climbing experience, and it shows. He also taught me to lead belay, which I had never done before, in about 10 minutes. I found him to be an excellent teacher. We used Rock Climb Montana for a Middle School trip this summer and could not have been more pleased with the day!!! Link and his team were amazing and very knowledgable. They did a great job of allowing the kids to play a big role in the day, but at all times maintaining safety. All of the kids had a great time and in our group of 22, there was something for everyone to climb no matter what their skill level was. The location for climbing was one of the most beautiful spots. I had an incredible time during my full day rock climbing session with Rock Climb Montana. I was picked up and dropped off at my hotel, had my own personal guide, Pat, who was friendly, kind, professional, skilled and a lot of fun! I have done other rock climbing sessions in other places but this was by far the best - just Pat and me (and Tim who set up many of the climbs). I was challenged and encouraged throughout the day. This was a private lesson for our family and what I consider group prices. It was fantastic! My husband and I didn't have much experience and the instructor, Link, coached us successfully up 5.3 and 5.4 routes. At our request he focused the rest of his time on our son who has been climbing for a year indoors. He wanted to learn how to lead climb. Our instructor taught safety and repeated the steps to build our son's confidence. This will give him a leg up with regard to future instruction. This was a total hit with my teens! My son is not crazy about hiking, so I try to incorporate adventures to appeal to him when we are on hiking vacations. Usually, nothing is thrilling enough for him. He LOVED this! We all did! My wife and I did a 7-hour climb at Stryker with Tim. What a great time! The guides set up top ropes throughout the canyon before we even arrived and did a great job of identifying our climbing styles and suggesting routes that were a good fit/challenge level. Tim offered excellent climbing advice and went above and beyond to teach us how to set anchors for outdoor climbing. He was a great teacher and encouraging and informed guide. This was an incredible experience. Our guide, Link, met us at the location and taught us how to rock climb! Added bonus, my (now) finance proposed to me at the top of the mountain we had climbed. He had arranged with Link to take a surprise photo of the proposal at the top. We completed a half day tour with Cole at Stryker mountain. Highly recommend! This was our first time rock climbing and we had a great time.
