Took our vehicle in, explained what it was doing even gave the code. After no updates for 2 days I called to be told I needed a new transmission. The transmission is solid and still under warranty and had it double checked at another shop. the original issue was never resolved, discussed or even looked at. The man I spoke with, Gary obviously was more interested in getting $7800 to rebuild a transmission that has zero issues. I would not recommend them at all. read more

Take your car somewhere else. Took my Silverado to replace glow plugs, but they want to charge $127 for diagnosing the check engine light. I got that at advance auto parts free of charge. I did agree to pay them for diagnosis. Next day the " front guy" of this country. Called and said it's a sensor fault ,not the glow plugs. After replacing the sensor he called and told me to take my truck to the dealer to have it fixed. When I picked up my truck the engine was running rough and loud. Check engine still on, oil pressure gage not working, Def sensor not working , cooling fan running at high speed at 40 degrees temp. The engine was so lout you couldn't talk and hear each other next to the car. They were telling me is normal. I went to auto zone for a free diagnosing and other codes popped out. Like a Christmas tree. Went back to tell Gery, the front man. He basically told me to Go F.. my self. After I drove away, 2 miles later my engine end up in a " limp mode" . Had yo tow my truck to the dealer. They found out a bunch of fried circuits. It's been a week yet and they are still working on it. I've seen comments of being honest and knowledge. Forget about it. They are ripping you off with the diagnosis and were is the knowledge? read more

I know he has high standards, he keeps the shop and office very clean, and has integrity I can trust. I thought we needed a major repair and he said it wasn't necessary. We've had our Jetta worked on here twice so far for completely unrelated things. First we had a timing belt break on us and we needed to have some serious engine work done because of that. More recently we had an issue with overheating and come to find out it was going to take a few days just to get the parts let alone to have the work done. Well a day after we took it there and were told it would probably take 2-3 days to get it done we just drove it home with no issues and a minor thing fixed that we had mentioned and he said that he probably couldn't take care of it but they had some down time so they did it anyways. Scott is one of the most fair and honest people that I have encountered when it comes to getting cars worked on. We were referred to him by Pete, yes THE Pete of Pete's Marathon here in Niles. If Pete says go to Rock Auto, you better go to Rock Auto. In fact we're taking all of our cars here from now on. Scott and the rest of them have earned our trust with their honesty and communication.
