They do lots of art and physical activity, the preschool does weekly topical themes that they learn about (senses, fall, etc)/do at projects on/read about/etc, and there's a strong emphasis on social skills like sharing and getting along. Plus, the families there come from a lot of backgrounds which is great for everyone. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out or for a large class; I've been to classes like these before in different cities but this studio had the most space by far. Once you choose your spot you go to the front and get the designated amount of paint and paint colors you will need for the painting and put them on your own plate. The instructor was very helpful and gave advice for how to personalize the painting to your own specific tastes. I loved how she insisted that there was no wrong way to paint the picture and instead to just make it your own. After she demonstrated the step, she would walk through the aisles and assist anyone who wanted further instruction before proceeding to the next step. I also liked how this class offered several different painting techniques. I left feeling like I really did learn some insider painting skills ;-)

There is a positive feeling throughout the school and I hear comments from parents continually saying how happy they are with the direction this school is going. Our principal is one of the BEST persons I have ever worked with. I have been in many schools where it seemed like it was teachers vs. admin, but in our school, we, as teachers, feel like our admin supports us 100%. The smaller classes allow us as teachers to give more attention to our students and I feel like we have so many opportunities to enrich our lessons with fun projects and focus on the FUN part of education and learning.
