Only giving them a star because I have to. I am so upset with Mayo High school and the…read moreadministration there. They let my son down and all the hard work both him and I were doing for him to graduate. For a assistant principal to tell my son he would be better off in the GED program is horrible. Now we officially lost everything. This was to a kid that had such a low self esteem that he had been in and out of the hospital for sucidal issues and now what he did was pretty much tell him he was no good. I was promised by his special teacher she would never give up on my son, but she did too. She was the only adult he trusted. I guess their moto is when the going gets tough you quit!

I have the opportunity to work with amazing staff members who are dedicated to their profession as well as their faith. That only benefits these students on a daily basis. There is a positive feeling throughout the school and I hear comments from parents continually saying how happy they are with the direction this school is going. Our principal is one of the BEST persons I have ever worked with. I have been in many schools where it seemed like it was teachers vs. admin, but in our school, we, as teachers, feel like our admin supports us 100%. The smaller classes allow us as teachers to give more attention to our students and I feel like we have so many opportunities to enrich our lessons with fun projects and focus on the FUN part of education and learning. If I still had children and/or middle school aged kids, I would do everything I could to get them to this school. The memories of being here will last a lifetime.
