I'm a nurse myself and had to have my own surgical procedure (renal cyst) done at Cottage Hospital by Dr Braverman this past week. Admittedly, even though I have knowledge and some years of experience in medical myself, I was still relatively concerned and had some pre-procedure questions. Dr. Braverman could not have been more reassuring and kind, as he thoroughly and patiently answered my questions. The procedure itself was skillfully performed and without pain. God bless you, Doctor, and your staff for really helping to reassure your patients and put yourself in their shoes. It meant the world to me. I'm 71 years old and I'd been thru the whole throat cancer treatment 12 yrs before. I did not want anymore painful procedures so I requested a general anesthesia for the BMB. Dr. Braverman came in and described the procedure to me and I was surprised to learn I was only to be given a sedative . I nearly canceled the biopsy right there til I got the G.A. I asked for. The good doctor patiently explained G.a.'s were usually done for more serious surgeries, but that if I wanted to reschedule the biopsy I would be able to get the G.A. At that point I agreed to proceed with just the sedation, in case the test might needed sooner rather than later. as I was being rolled in surgery Dr. Braverman told me ," I know this is not what what you asked for but I'll make sure you wo'nt feel any discomfort. He was true to his word. One minute I was laying face down in one room and the next I awoke in another. Also the aches that I felt after the locals wore off were so manageable that I needed only one tylenol the next day. no bleeding, no bruising, no ice packs etc. needed. I am so grateful to you dr., you dispelled so much fear for me. I have'nt seen the test results yet but if treatment involves any more B.M.B's I hope I'll have someone as capable, understanding and comforting as the good Dr. Braverman-M. Lozano
