I asked Illini Home Improvements to insulate a room that is above our garage. This room was very…read morecold in the winter, and very hot in the summer. They came out and inspected what insulation I already had, and explained clearly why that insulation wasn't working. Basically, the builder had not insulated properly, either due to not knowing the proper way to insulate this type of room, or due to cutting corners. They explained to me what they would recommend, and why, and gave a firm estimate and time frame for when they could do the job. I agreed and their team showed up when they said they would, did the job, and cleaned up after themselves. They stuck to their quote even though the job took a significant amount more of insulation than expected. I was able to inspect their work via the attic, and they did exactly what they told me they would do. So far this room is warmer in the winter, but will never be as warm as the rest of the house due to being over a cold garage, and due to having inadequate heating vents. But at least the room is usable now and we can use a space heater as needed. My thanks to the team, and I'll call them again when I need something insulated. Note that despite the name of this company, they don't do EVERY kind of home improvement; this company specializes in weather-proofing/ insulation.

I was unhappy with the way the installer (his name was Chuck) handled the job. The screens were torn (not his fault), but instead of replacing them and coming back to finish the job as he said he would, he returned the broken screens to my porch about a month later with a note taped to it with a disconnected phone number. He didn't leave the packaging materials or instructions, so returning them to the company wasn't an option for me. I had to pay $90 for replacement parts, and Illini Home Improvement refused to accept responsibility for the job since the contractor was no longer employed with them. Frustrating to say the least and my doors are still not in working order.

Which was 5k.over the first two estimates,I asked why? He claimed he uses American parts, I gave him the job and he came out the next day wanting payment first, I regretfully paid first, that's when the nightmare started, he destroyed two trees and landscaping getting the rig on my property also sinking his truck two foot deep ruts throughout my lawn, started to drill ,and all the gray cement like muck that came out of the ground, the dumped it all over my evergreens and shrubs so that they didn't have to remove it,just hide it, then even tho they struck water at 135ft. He lied to me and said it took 180ft.so that he can charge me more money, then they dug the property to run the waterline and destroyed two ceramic drain tiles without telling me, they just threw dirt over the d broken tiles to cover it up,then they took a sledge hammer to my cinder block wall to my basement and made a one ft. Wide hole for a 1 in.waterline and just left the busted up cinder block,so that when it rained that night my whole basement got a foot of water from it., they also destroyed my electrical box and took the power source from my clothes dryer to wire the well pump,so that I'm now without power for my dryer, and left a ton of cut wires all over and my electrical box uncovered and hanging circuits live. I also must tell you,all that B's about American made parts.. a big lie! The well pump went out two weeks after the installed it,and every part they installed stamped "CHINA" and he blocked my number to avoid talking to me! Because he knows what he is! A thief! And a butcher! You have been warned. It cost me a total of 25k.to clean up and right all of his wrongs and this is why I'm telling everyone to avoid this butcher!! You have been warned.

The first trashcan I bought they broke the wheels off it the first time they came and picked up trash when they slammed it down real hard. I had to buy a really expensive one that was much larger and of course they increased the price of my trash pickup last thing they don't let you know when your bill is due if you happen to forget that week after 3 months, They just don't pick up your trash. You can't auto pay either. No curtesy phone call, text, letter, post card nothing! I heard alot of complaints about the other trash companies in town about only getting a postcard when there bill was due or a slight overcharge on there bill but trust me these guys make them look like superstars. I wish I had more options for trash pickup, but I don't and I just have to keep getting screwed by these guys I suppose.

Even though (when I complained about how I was treated) the owner told me they listened to every family member not just the bill payer that was NOT the case. I was flat out told they didn't need to listen to me because I had not signed the contract - not once was I asked for input into the service or arrangements. I had no role as the daughter and it didn't have to be that way. So, if you have family members that cannot cooperate do not use Renner-Wikoff because they are unwilling to negotiate for compromise. My opinion is they are in it for the money and will not rock the boat - at your expense (no pun intended).
