So this was my first mega mall experience in the Philippines and Cebu as a whole. I can honestly…read moresay I was blown away and impressed. From the stores, the size, and the restaurant options. A must see if in Cebu and looking for an amazing shopping experience. P.S. Remember where you parked and entered the mall........it will save you time.

Large Shopping Mall [CEBU CITY, Philippines]…read more What da wow! This mall is H-U-G-E! This is a super mall claiming to be the 4th largest mall in the world! Now that's impressive. SM Seaside located in Cebu has everything -- Shopping, Dining, Entertainment, Movies, and Services. I thought I was back in the U.S. when I saw retail stores like American Eagle, Columbia Sportswear, Cotton On, Crocs, Footlocker, H&M, Guess, Levi's, M·A·C, Miniso, Oakley, The North Face... they still have an Esprit store ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... and food franchise stores like Auntie Anne's, Burger King, Cinnabon, Dominos Pizza, Dunkin' Donuts, Gong Cha, KFC, Krispy Kreme, Sbarro, and, of course, Starbucks! Mom and I were looking for souvenir shops and found some at a store called Island Souvenirs. An employee was very helpful in finding the right sizes for us when we were shopping for novelty shirts. We also found Kultura, a franchise souvenir shop (I love this store). I found some stores with clever names: John Lemon (juice bar), Belle Lumiere -- characters from Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" (aesthetic salon), and Eye Browse (optical). They have bowling, ice skating, and movies for entertainment. SM Seaside is one of the biggest malls in Visayas and the largest shopping mall in Cebu City. The mall has five (5) floors with over 700 stores!! 12 of them are anchor stores. The Philippines has some of the biggest malls! So crazy! My only complaint... they should have more electronic floor maps of the mall sprinkled everywhere... you know, like ones that point on the map "You are here" because it's so easy to get lost here. Not my favorite mall. I got pretty bored here really quick. My mom and auntie wanted to go in there…read moreto look for a mirror for the house so I went into a housewares store with them. Who knew there were that many types of rice cookers? There are tons of stores selling everyday clothes, but I didn't see any bookstores and there's a store selling really generic cheapo gifts but nothing souvenir worthy, so I wandered in that store and came out empty handed. But I am happy to say that for 5 pesos per song, you can sing karaoke in the arcade upstairs. :) That was definitely the highlight of my visit. But before I could sing, I had to wait my turn watching the teen boys singing. I don't think you see that many guys in general volunteering for karaoke in the USA (especially not young ones) so it was definitely different to see. Usually the ones in the USA want to rap or look tough or something. These boys were singing romantic songs to no one in particular or 80s rock songs. I had to wait for the teens to finish their performances and I picked a Tagalog song to sing. I'm such a newb at this language but why sing in English in the Philippines when I can do that at home? And what better way to practice my Tagalog than singing in a public space to a wide audience of passersby at the mall? It was great until the song before mine finished and somehow the karaoke machine just froze for 5 minutes. Ugh... The big group had left already and there was just one teen guy waiting for his turn, but he tried helping me. Fortunately the machine started working again out of nowhere and I got to sing my song. Nobody really cares if anyone sings. They just go on like it's any normal day because hey! it's the Philippines. EVERYONE sings here. You hear people almost everywhere singing. It's like walking into a karaoke room place. Except you could be anywhere. It's true. It's more fun in the Philippines! Also they have Dunkin Donuts downstairs if you start craving for their eclairs. Yes, the Dunkin in the Philippines sells eclairs and they are scrumptious. I had the green matcha tea and tiramisu. Get your game together in the states, Dunkin! Other stores in this mall include Watsons and Red Ribbon if I remember correctly. If you're hungry for something besides Dunkin Donuts there's not a whole lot to choose from here. If you're looking to buy some tshirts or sing karaoke for 5 pesos, or if you're craving some yummy eclairs, this is a decent spot. But otherwise, I prefer Robinsons or SM.
