CT Valley did the initial instillation on my fence about 5 years ago (and there were problems then), to which I would figure the posts on a cedar fence that I spent 4K on would last longer than 5 years. I called and left messages on their machine several times and when I did speak to someone I was told Brian needed to order the material, well three months later and still no posts. All calls were made during their normal business hours and I left messages with no return call. I understand it's not a big job, but what CT Valley was going to charge me to replace this post was far more expensive than the other companies I've now had to call for the repair. Their lack of communication and poor service leaves me no choice to write this review so others don't run into this problem.... Very poor service.

That sounded too good to be true, but I took him at his word. When the three weeks was up, I sent him a message to check in and see when he was coming out. That message went unanswered. I waited another 10 days, and called him. His cell number said it was disconnected, and so I called the main business number. He answered there and told me that he would be scheduling with me in the coming days. I never heard from him. I waited until June 17th, a month after the initial contact, and messaged him again. This time he replied right away and said he had my gate in the shop, and that he had just two other jobs ahead of me, but that he would be out that same week to install. That week came and went, and I heard nothing. Now, another week has come and gone (making for six weeks since we first spoke and came to an agreement, and he has just disappeared. I had a lot of confidence in him because he was so friendly when I first reached out, and got the estimate to me exactly when he said he would. Moreover, all his reviews on here are positive. I'm not really sure what the deal is, but he left us hanging, which is just awful customer service! You should never promise what you aren't going to deliver. Moral of the story: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

He came out the next day and assured me he could take care of the replacement, quoted me a very reasonable price and said the new guardrails would be ready in 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. One week later, a truck pulled up outside and within about an hour the old railings were gone and the new railings were installed! Starline was the second least expensive (first estimate was 10k, most were around 6, Starline's was $4400) and I chose them because Jose was professional, helpful, excited about the job and the pictures of past work were beautiful. When he came out to the property, the quote he gave me on the phone was exactly the same as the quote he gave me in person. He scheduled me for the following week. On the day of, he arrived early with his team and when I got home from work, the fence was 99% done. His team came back the next morning and finished installing the gates. The final bill was exactly what he said it would be. We have had multiple contractors at our new home - for painting, small projects, HVAC, etc - and by far Jose was the most honest and reliable. On top of that the fence looks AMAZING. You won't regret using their services.

It was a difficult operation as they had to work from a neighbors yard and aces the trees by reaching over the neighbors house, power lines etc. Mike took care to protect the property and work with the neighbor, who was difficult. His crew brought in a 110 ton crane with a 140 foot reach. The entire crew was professional, courteous, and extremely hard working. The job was finished in less than half the time of other estimates and at just over half the cost of other companies. Before leaving, they cleaned up the entire site to the point that you would never know they were there. I highly recommend Mike and his crew.
