Review for Kathy Longwell by Nicole…read more Puppy Training Where to begin?? I really can't say enough good things about Kathy. I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to because of her outstanding expertise and help in training my puppy. Kathy's professionalism, care for the dog's wellbeing, and ability to clearly and effectively communicate with me are only a handful of reasons why I'd strongly recommend Kathy's services to anyone. What I failed to realize in the beginning of working with Kathy is how much dog training involves human training...specifically training me, the dog owner. In order to get the most out of training, I felt I needed to keep an open mind to Kathy's suggestion and never take it personally. She truly has the dog's best interest at heart. For example, one suggestion Kathy made was to start loose leash walk training indoors, then in my backyard, then front yard, then finally sidewalks. (I compared the concept to a child going to kindergarten first, then elementary school, then high school, then finally college.) Implementing her input was the best thing I ever did! He walks really well on a loose leash now outside on sidewalks (at barely 5 months old!). Had I not checked my ego at the door and openly received and diligently implemented Kathy's sage advice, my puppy would never be as well behaved as he is. Do yourself, your dog, and our community a favor by hiring Kathy.

Terrible!! My first red flag should have been when 3 out of my 4 phone calls were NOT returned…read more Lisa tried to intimidate me into insisting she had returned my first 3 calls. Nope!! You can't argue with stupid and modern technology!! I didn't fall for that. She never even laid hands on my dog! She threw string cheese on the floor and told me to YouTube dogs barking all day. To desensitize my dog. He gets overly excited when he sees another dog on a walk. Then, the second thing she recommended was for my dog to be put on Prozac!! I foolishly paid $85 for NOTHING. Pay close attention to these photos. She's reading a magazine. Just dogs in photos, not her interacting with them. If you have a very young puppy and want to teach it how to "go find" with cheese, let me save you $85...toss cheese on the floor and watch YouTube's. This place is a waste.

This organization is run by Mandy, whose husband is the veterinarian, and a team of volunteers (Susan's House of Misfits) and many others in this village. Mandy works day and night receiving unwanted dogs, puppies, cats and kittens (amongst other pets) and tirelessly finds homes for them. Some are on the kill list or surrendered by their owners. She puts so much energy and time into finding homes for all of God's creatures that it is truly amazing. Our little Cookie Dough (name given by my granddaughter) was fully vetted when we adopted her (for a small fee). She is a Chorkie and a ball of fire. Mandy gets hundreds if not thousands of requests from possible new owners and does a great job vetting them all. Our fee will also include her to be chipped and spade when she gets a little older. If living in this area - Brooksville or surrounding area, look up Ziggy's Legacy Rescue if you want to donate to the cause or adopt an unwanted pet.
