There was no proof, just that the item was missing. I told her I didn't take anything and offered to help look for it--if she stopped threatening me. Instead, she took me to court. It took three months for them to produce video footage, which confirmed what I'd said all along: I never stole anything. I was not found guilty of any crime, yet I was forced to pay over $1,500 in legal costs simply to defend myself against a baseless accusation. Glow Fish Studios doesn't feel like a business anymore--it feels like a sting operation run by someone who gets a little too much satisfaction from accusing and humiliating people. I used to shop here often. I have no criminal background. This was deeply traumatic, and it seems they care more about "catching shoplifters" than actually treating customers like human beings. If you value integrity, avoid this place. They are not the small business they pretend to be. Overpriced shit that isn't even from real witches. Just gentrified, rich white women who profit off aesthetics, not authenticity. Save yourself the drama and support Motown Witch or Moonlit Mystic LLC--actual Black-owned Detroit shops that honor the craft and don't treat their customers like suspects.

The bright blue 1950's truck painted on the front windows and the vintage exterior lights and brick facade give you ample warning that you are onto something special even before you step in the door. It's easy to see why this cute, well-stocked shop was voted best new business of 2021. Inside, there's stuff for kids, for grandma, grandpa, mom and dad, gardeners, wanna-be gardeners, folks who love the lake, who love things that smell good and who love red white and blue. All the wares are creatively displayed. So much fun to browse. Great place to shop and get inspiration.

But, that's ok-Trenton is a cute little town so we enjoyed the unintentional exploring. We expected the store footprint to be a little larger, but there were still plenty of things to look at and choose from. Metalwork dominates. There was a flock of hot pink metal flamingos, huge multi-colored roosters and bright red cardinals on wire hangers and metal stakes. There were enormous sunflowers, wind chimes and rock sculptures. And lots more. The back room had some vintage items including a couple of ladders that would be great for hanging quilts. According to the very nice gentleman behind the counter, they are usually open spring - Christmas and the stock changes as they sell out and replace with new merchandise. Around the holidays it becomes a big gift shop. If you are in the area, it is worth a stop. My advice would be to pair it with lunch and a visit to some of the shops along W. Jefferson downtown and make a day of it. You won't get dirty at The Dirty Hoe, but neither will you have to work hard to have a good time. Overalls not required.

I was looking for a solution for a screen door handle to get a tight fit. He treated me like I was stupid and I should have walked out. I ended up going to Menards where the staff was extremely nice and helpful and pointed me to products that I could try. Damian's solution did not work and I ended up using my solution that I tried to pitch to him while I was in the store. I will never shop again at Hood's.

No rushing me even when another customer needed her help, I was able to peruse the store, as I am known to do no matter what I am there for. Only to be kindof worried the day of. (insert awkward grin) First; I had so much fun! It was actually really not hard at all - who would've thought!? The actual studio here is so Pinterest-y, too. Everything is perfectly decorated.. of course it helps that they have workshops to recreate much of the decor, too! Second.. the ladies that own this one are friendly, funny, and patient. Everything was explained thoroughly and things just ran smoothly. Third.. I now have a sweet chunky blanket for my office couch and I didn't make a total fool of myself making it (bonus!).

I bought some yummy tea and picked up a vintage Clay pot for my sister as a gift. She loved it! It is a small shop in a strip mall right on Fort Street. You pull in right off fort st into the parking lot. It is a small lot but I was able to get a parking spot with no problem. They were super helpful and answered any and all my questions. I would definitely recommend checking out this little shop if you are into tea, herbs or vintage items.

Not only did we end up purchasing a new dining room table, but my mom ended up purchasing a coffee table and two end tables. In addition, I plan on going back to purchase some of the cool Lake Michigan art that they have in stock. They have furniture for every room in your house and a great clearance/sale room. We are still waiting on our table (it's custom made), but my mom received her purchase the other day and was incredibly happy with the quality and the professionalism of the delivery staff. We bought a love seat sofa and chair November 2024. The sales woman Carol told us to call them back…read morein a year and they'll repack the cushions. I'll get back to this. After the initial delivery, we noticed that the chair made honking noises. I had them come out to take a look. The repair guy said he couldn't find anything doing it. Now a year later, I had them come back out to recheck the noise that never went away and to have them repack the cushions. The repair guy said the repack was a lie. They don't do that. He still couldn't fix the chair either. Just today I took a look at the chair myself. There were 6 loose bolts that I tightened up. This fixed the chair. Why didn't the repair guy have the sense to bring a 7/16" wrench with him so he could verify all the bolts were tight? He does this for a living. Wouldn't you think he's seen this problem before? Between being lied to about repackig cushions to poor service, I'd look at other sources for furniture next time around.
