Four days later, we decided it was time. We stopped in during the late afternoon after a long day of walking around and exploring in the heat. The air conditioning was glorious. We were thrilled to see tinto de verano on the menu, which we haven't had since a trip to Seville. I got an orange soda, too. Both were delicious and refreshing. They told us they were out of the steak au poivre, so my partner got the salmon. I got a mini cheeseburger. We also got an order of fries. The fries were pretty yummy, especially with the house-made ketchup. The salmon was tasty, according to my partner. It wasn't special, but it was fine. I asked for the burger to be medium well. (Note: I usually prefer medium, but I've noticed that lots of restaurants here seem to err on the side of under-done, and I didn't want to risk getting sick while traveling.) The burger was sort of warm on one side, but mostly room temperature at best. It was incredibly greasy. It was also quite red and raw on the inside. I didn't love the mayo on it. It wasn't delicious. I gave up on trying to eat it and just ate the fries. I tried to eat my partner's salad since he didn't love it, but it just tasted meh so I left it alone after a nibble. The experience manager came by to chat and asked how the food was. I shrugged and said it was a little raw, not my favorite. They said it was very obviously underdone when I showed it to them. They offered to re-cook it, but it had already taken so long, and the flavor wasn't to my taste. They said they'd take the French fries off our bill. Odd, since we both devoured the fries, and it was the burger that wasn't touched. All in all, a bit overpriced for a really mediocre experience. It came out really cold and with a frosted mug. My wife ordered the California burger and I got the classic. Both were petite sizes. We ordered an order of fries with truffle oil. The burgers came out and included fries. We should have asked if anything came with the dish. The truffle fries were good but for me could have used more oil. Our burgers were delicious. Good beef taste and a nice fresh bun. Our waitress was very nice and helpful.

They I think are trying to be the Gourmet Burger style of Merida and in that regard they do a solid job. The burgers we had were pub style, fairly meaty and properly cooked. I prefer a little more char and cheese on mine, also more a smash burger kind of guy, but this place kind of reminds me of Umami Burger in LA if you know them, at least in terms of the burger quality. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries and onion cheese rings. The burger was grade a Beef, cooked medium well, and it just melted in my mouth, the cheddar cheese gave me a feel of home in the US, and the bacon and fixings all tasted soooo fresh. I have to admit, the onion rings/mozzarella rings were a succulent twist to two of my favorite fast food go to's. The breading included chia, so the flavors just bursted with each bite. If your looking to have a good ol Burger, and give yourself a break from the Yucatan cultural foods, this place won't disappoint.
