Discussions with a new agent, mine had left, were worthless; no answers, no suggestions, no help and never a return call or message - even with a couple of contacts on my part to Trisha Crafts, the new agent. Who cares about the Steffes Agency, Inc, in Bismarck, ND??? I don't, and neither should you!

If I could leave zero stars, I would…read more In October of 2023, our basement flooded due to a faulty sump pump. We had to have a restoration company come in on the weekend and also had to replace all the carpet and pad in our basement. We filed a claim, and were denied because we didn't have "sump pump" insurance, which we never were offered or declined. In fact, there was NO signed application completed by Parker Dire American Family Insurance Agency when we moved in 2020. After multiple calls and emails, a complaint was filed with the ND Insurance Commission, in which they claimed due to no documentation, we were basically out of luck. Parker Dire verbally told my wife that he would take care of this, and that his office was on the hook for it since it was their mistake. He did not. The reformation he tried to obtain was denied by the underwriters for lack of documentation - again, his fault. This entire process was unprofessional and incredibly infuriating, as he returned only TWO calls out of the DOZENS of times my wife and I had called. The emails that I had sent received no response, only until I told him I was filing a complaint with the ND Insurance Commission. He's accepted no responsibility or even tried to make things right. There are better American Family Insurance agents out there, so don't waste your time with Parker Dire.
