Doctor Mortimer deserves better, as he is a really good orthodontist who is understanding with and genuinely seems to care about his patients. Unfortunately, the "face" of the office can leave a bad impression on anyone. His receptionist seems to feel that she is allowed to be rude and condescending if you dare miss an appointment or even show up late (but not when Doc Mortimer is within earshot, of course). I guess she's just too busy to be bothered with doing her job when real life happens to other people. The last straw was a nasty little letter that was signed by Carol of the front office when we missed an appointment, stating that "We are sure you were aware that that time was allocated just for you". Thanks - I had no clue what an appointment was. I wonder how many patients she has cost Doctor Mortimer without him even knowing. Wait, where are my manners ? I did not reply to her letter. "I apologize for missing the appointment. I also apologize that my colleague's mother took ill and I was called out of town unexpectedly at the last minute, which caused you to have to make an update on a computer screen. I apologize that you will never get that 30 second back. I hope you recover from the trauma one day." Potential patients, steer clear until this issue has been fixed. read more
