They quickly realized that and did everything they could to make sure he was comfortable. When we were leaving the nurse made sure the house cat was up and asked the next patient if he could do his paperwork in his car while we leave. She didn't want my dog to get excited and hurt himself. They went above and beyond in my opinion. I drove from Ventura and will every time. I love how it's a small office and they schedule beautifully. There was no wait time, with a scared dog this is a big deal. In response to another review I read, We were asked to wear a mask and I was one short so the nurse got one for us. No big deal.

WORST VET EVER! If you love your pet and also care anything…read morefor yourself, PLEASE go anywhere else but here! Mr. Shouse is unkind and unprofessional. He needs to retire. He can barely give you the time of day. My pet needed quality care, and having just move to the area, I didn't know any better. He mishandled my pets care. His office is outdated. Don't bother wasting your or your pets time there. Please, give heed to the other negative comments. Thankfully, I was able to get my pet to Veterinarians who are, caring & capable. They gave my ailing pet the treatment that was needed, and for that I am very grateful. I have never written a bad review before, but this one I felt I needed to because it was such a bad experience for my pet and me. You kind of expect and actually need some compassion when you bring a sick pet to a vet, but believe me, he had none. If I could rate zero stars, I would.

Fortunately, I muzzle trained her and it was easier for them to take her in. However, they had a hard time handling her when they tried to begin the surgery with the anesthesia so they charged me a $20 aggressive handling fee. That's the only thing that caught me off guard when I saw the itemized receipt of what they were charging me. Even with that charge, their prices were very reasonable! Overall I paid $225 (including a $15 donation I made). They also provided pain medication to give to Bailey the days after her surgery. In terms of her procedure and stitching, they stated they used internal dissolvable stitches so I didn't need to go back to get them removed (looove that!). The area is very small and looks like it is healing properly so far. The cone on her head didn't work for her. She kept bumping into walls, corners, and it made her even more anxious so I got her a suit instead which seems to be working great! I just make sure to wash the suit every few days to prevent buildup of bacteria/germs. 1 day after surgery, she was already back to her normal self! We have to take extra precautions to prevent her from getting an injury since she is normally a very jumpy/excited dog, but everything has been great! Would definitely get another pet spayed here if needed.

Thank you to everyone on the team at AMC!…read more I moved to Hawaii from Santa Barbara and was able to easily handle all of the required paperwork and rabies vaccinations with the help and guidance of the staff of AMC. When I arrived in Honolulu Hawaii yesterday I was able to walk off the plane with my dog without any problems. AMC has been the primary veterinarian for my dog since he was a puppy and I have always had great service, easy appointment setting, clear directions on care and medication, and a followup/checkup call from the staff after neuter surgery. Prices are extremely fair for regular maintenance and checkups, I definitely recommend AMC for your dog or cat.

By day 4 he succumbed to acute blindness. How a vet was not alarmed seeing the dosage on the bottle is beyond me. Ophthalmologist verify our cat is completely irreversibly blind due to its toxicity. I've had vets for over 30 years and never had anyone been this gross negligent. Another woman shared on my Nextdoor post that her dog was prescribed antibiotic by this same vet and caused fatal internal bleeding. Fatal. It makes me wonder what kind of vet this woman is. She's only been there since Feb 2023, just a short 3 years. There may be other cases we don't know about. Beware. If you choose them, you should really google info and ask PetMD about the meds/dosage. I did file a complaint with VMB. CA law does not punish vet malpractice unless it's proven to be intentional. VMB is a division of the Department of Consumer Affairs. They will investigate and do have a measure of accountability from citing fines, to further training, to probation, to protocol requirements, to suspension and revoking license. I feel it is my responsibility to share my experience with Jessica and Anthony at Puff N Fluff Pet…read moreGrooming because it is truly shocking: When we took our two small poodles (ages 15 and 2) in for grooming, we informed Jessica and Anthony that our 15 year old has very saggy skin around her neck, and that a few months prior she had been cut by the groomer and had needed stitches. About an hour after we dropped them off we received a call from Anthony saying that he believed our dog's previous wound had reopened, and they had no idea how it happened. They made it clear that it must be her old wound, and that it looked like a scab ripped off. They claimed they hadn't even noticed the cut "reopening" until later on, and that she hadn't cried, and it wasn't bleeding. They asked that we come pick her up, and they suggested taking her to the vet. They had not started on our 2 year old, but we gave them permission since we were under the impression that our 15 year old had just reopened her cut, and we did not believe they were at fault at the time. Unfortunately we received a completely different story from the vet. Per her veterinary examination, the cut she incurred at Puff N Fluff was on the OPPOSITE side of her neck and was in fact deeper (full thickness) and longer than her previous cut, so it was a completely fresh, new wound. The vet wanted to sedate her and give her stitches because it was so long and deep, but they gave her staples instead because they didn't want to put a dog of her age and size under anesthesia. Even if they were unaware of cutting her, like they claimed, I would find it even more concerning that they didn't notice inflicting a wound of that caliber. I understand that our 15 year old is very difficult to groom, and I understand that mistakes happen. I understand that any experienced groomer would have issues grooming my dog because of her skin, and this could have happened to anyone. My issue is not with the cut that she incurred from the groom. My issue is that they did not take responsibility for the cut, and had clearly fabricated a story about her injury so we wouldn't know they were at fault. We called to inform them of this discovery, and Jessica offered to pay for the vet visit, which is what we were hoping for. However, then I requested a reimbursement for my 2 year old, and I was incredibly disappointed by their response. We asked for a reimbursement because we no longer felt comfortable having paid them for their service when we were so unclear about what happened to our dog in their care. We felt like they blatantly lied to us after the vet's assessment and insight into the wound. We received quite a bit of pushback on getting our money back for the groom, which I feel shows a complete lack of understanding and accountability for their actions. I was obviously missing a lot of information, and I would NEVER have let them groom her if I knew what had truly happened. We had every right to ask for a refund after the experience we had. Additionally, our 2 year old was incredibly stressed after we picked her up, and her trachea collapsed on and off all day, which has never happened before. Furthermore, Jessica requested that WE write out and sign a statement that declared they reimbursed us for the vet visit and grooming appointment, which we did, but it was honestly insulting after what they did. AlI I was looking for was an apology and for them to be accountable for the cut, but instead they were dishonest, did not take responsibility for anything, deflected blame, and honestly lacked compassion and remorse for the whole incident. I understand this is an incredibly difficult time due to the pandemic, but we felt like they cared more about making money off us than the health of our dog or making amends for what they had done. It is important to note that they did end up reimbursing us for the vet visit and groom; however, they did initially try to shortchange us when we picked up the money, and we did Not receive any form of an apology for Anything. I hope no one has to experience something like this because it is truly heartbreaking for everyone.

It's not located right on Main Street, but right before you hit Main Street, depending on what direction you're coming from. The parking lot is small, but I could find parking easily. Appointments are scheduled weeks out; therefore, arrive on time to avoid losing your spot! A family came late with their two dogs, and Smiling Canines tried to squeeze them between other dogs' appointment times, but it was a hassle for both the family and business. After I filled out and signed some paperwork, the staff immediately took my little dog in to have his teeth cleaned. The whole appointment lasted maybe 30 minutes. They also have a small store pet you can look in while you wait for your dog; otherwise, you can stay in your car or sit in a chair outside. The lady who greeted me was kind, professional, and efficient. The prices are around $185 - $250, depending on what type of cleaning your dog needs. Unfortunately, I paid $250 because I had not kept on my dog's teeth, and he had a lot of tartar buildup. So he will need to come back in another six months for another cleaning, and my good boy deserves the best. Thank you, Smiling Canines, for vastly improving my dog's teeth - and breath!
