Woke up with very similar knee pain last week (nothing like hurting yourself without knowing how it happened). Did the RICE, took it easy, did some pt exercises, no help. Went to see Dr. Shanfeld, and walked out of there with no pain. Amazing! Dr. Shanfeld took the time to explain what he was doing and was extremely kind. Definitely recommend

I was in constant severe pain from a neurological condition, and was not sure I would be able to engage in much physical activity. I decided to try an introductory Pilates package after chatting with Ilene. I saw right away how much effort Ilene put into understanding the neuromuscular system, and into creating an individualized plan for each client. She used a variety of techniques that allowed me to modify exercises and avoid exacerbating my condition, and she gave me techniques to use to avoid pain in activities of daily living as well, such as getting in and out of the car. Working with her has increased my strength and flexibility, improved my posture and gait, helped reduce my pain, and improved my quality of life. I was referred to Dr Jen and Synergy Sports Rehabilitation and Chiropractic by friends of mine who…read moreused them to help their gymnast kids with back issues and other ailments! They said she was the best and I agree!!! I suffered a back injury way back in May of 2021. It was a very sharp pain in the center of my back very low almost where my butt crack was. I simply tried to self medicate, stretch and play tennis through the pain. It wasn't until November of 2021 when I finally said to myself enough is enough. I was laying on the tennis court after drills in pain as I often did after a match or drill! I called Dr Jen to help try and fix the issue. I found out through an MRI that I had an S1 disc herniation and along with that was constant painful sciatica in the glutes down to the hamstrings radiating to my ankle. Doc already knew what the issue was based on my symptoms and was treating me with several techniques to relieve my pain. Graston, ART, Laser and the decompression table. She worked with me and her team to find the best results. She asked for input on how certain settings on the decompression table felt until we found THE one that helped me the most. I like the fact that she was listening to my issues, making adjustments and very patient with me because at times I may have come off frustrated not at her but myself for waiting so long to do rehab. (6 months) I thought fixing my back injury would take a few sessions, but not the case for me. I stuck with Dr Jen and her team, visited her twice a week religiously and I can say my back has been feeling 100% strong since January. The sciatica has finally gone from the constant pain to the most minute issue. I wouldn't even call it an issue. I'll be continuing with Dr Jen for maintenance and work on any other ailments on my body that may arise. One thing I will say is AS SOON as you feel some pain in any part of your body call Dr Jen and Sports Rehabilitation and Chiropractic! I wish I did as she might have fixed me sooner, but I'm glad I finally called. Her and her team are the best around! Thanks Dr Jen for everything you've done to get me back on the courts!! We'll have to hit sometime!!!
