How crowded are the basketball courts? Can you ever just shoot around or are there always people there for a pickup game?

Thank you for reaching out. It varies with the Sarasota County School schedule, but there is most likely room for pick-up games. Below are our court details.… Read more

I'm constantly surprised how clean the place is , there is always someone cleaning the men's room or cleaning in the gym area and I really appreciate that. The place is huge and I'm never waiting for a weight station. Overall good gym clientele , some hang and talk but are not overly in the way , most are getting in a good workout bringing up the energy of the place. Good music plays , front desk is always greeting and saying goodbye. Gene runs a really tight ship here and I appreciate his management. I hope he's stays around here for a very long time. This is a gem of a gym and 100% worth every penny.

I wanted to like this place. They have a pool and sauna. Things I really need for healthy workouts…read more Sadly, I found the place to be substandard. The gym felt dirty, the sales person pushy, the place overly crowded and none to friendly. It's a gym. I get it. You can only expect so much, especially for these places that claim to be low cost. At least with PF you get exactly what you see and expect. With EOS, you get nothing put "oh, to use that you need to upgrade your membership". Just a hard sell for basic things, harder sell for non-basic things. FYI .. the pool is always busy. Don't listen to the sale people that say it's not. I toured the place. Talked to the sales person. Avoid the hard sale. Never went back. DO NOT SIGN UP WHILE YOU VISIT. Leave, think about it for a day, sleep on your choice and then do what you want. It's not always easy to avoid the flashy fast talking pushy sales person, but you will be gald that YOU made the decision after thinking about vs on impulse. EOS could be just the gym you are looking for. They do have some intresting equipment, training classes that sound fun, and a cradio movie theater. Just join IF YOU want to , not because THEY want you to.

I've been a member for about five weeks now. I wanted to wait to write an informed review…read more Cost: It's comparable to Planet Fitness. About $27/monthly and $50 annual fee. App: Nothing useful (can't sign up for classes, as an example) except for scanning your membership card on arrival. Amenities: Three lane pool. Functional. Equipment: I've yet to use a cardio or weight machine that needs servicing or calibrating. I've not seen any that were out of order. They could use additional cable tv stations - there are about four total. They have a wide range of free weights, benches, and weight machines. Cleanliness: Here's where they fail. The women's bathroom (not locker room) is old an consistently dirty. I've seen grossness left for a couple of days before it was cleaned up. The gym floor is obviously not swept or vacuumed regularly, either. ALSO: The spray bottles of sanitizer are often missing, empty, or filled with water in lieu of actual sanitizing spray. The paper towels were empty for two consecutive days. Environment: Zero fans over the treadmills, but plenty over the weights area - this makes no sense. And there have been days where the gym itself has been fairly hot. I normally like to work out very early in the morning and then head to the office, but the women's locker room is is hot and HUMID - fine for a Saturday or Sunday, but I can't shower, dry my hair, and put on client-appropriate clothing and not be a giant sweaty mess afterwards. (I should note here that Planet Fitness did just fine in this aspect - they didn't skimp on the AC.) Classes: Don't bother with the spin classes. The bikes are bare-bones and old. I went to a yoga class (one of the few on the schedule) and I couldn't hear a thing over the AC and the basketball court (which shares a wall with the yoga studio). The instructor was nice enough, but didn't use any of the appropriate terminology for the poses and didn't make any form corrections during the class. So I was stuck craning my neck watching what she was doing so I could mimic her. It wasn't a bad class, overall, but you REALLY need to be able to hear an instructor during yoga - craning your neck while trying to achieve a pose is a good way to hurt yourself. She provided options for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students, which was great. I will try another class or two. The staff is overall friendly and responsive. Is it worth it? Sure - at this price point. Would I pay more for more amenities, etc. YES! The last major city I lived in I paid about $140/monthly, and that included towel service, a monthly locker fee, and a slew of classes including martial arts. I get that this place is an economy version of LA Fitness - if LAF were closer to my office, I would've opted to sign up there instead.

I came into town to visit and I decided to go back to see if it would be possible to workout at LA Fitness for the week. David was extremely accommodating and understanding of my situation. Not only did his work stand out, but there were many more instances throughout the course of the two hours that I was there that made me understand that this would be the ideal gym to go to if I lived in the area. All of the employees were upbeat and very polite. If anyone is looking for a gym to start up at in the Sarasota area, I strongly recommend this LA Fitness!

Bathrooms have garbage cans overflowing, the mirrors and counters are never cleaned. The work out area has mats that are black with dirt, the mirrors have fingerprints everywhere, every piece of equipment is dirty. Before leaving I scrubbed my hands with soap and hot water not to bring diseases home! Men's bathroom has three urinals and one is broken, taken away and a clear piece of plastic hangs over the open sewer line. The disrepair has been there for months. Exercise bikes randomly have working monitors and every pedal strap are just laying on the ground. The LA Fitness at the Crossings was cleaned continuously, it gets shut down and the site at Cattleman stays open??? Go figure, well I'll be quickly cancelling my membership!

This gym set me up right from the start with a trainer to show me the equipment and run a diagnostic on me to show me my fat / water ratio and set a baseline for me. I decided that I liked Becky and set up several training sessions as I was just starting and felt I would need some assistance at the beginning. I did do 8 sessions and it's gone great. I will be on my own after two more, but I now have more confidence in what I can achieve and a better understanding of what I need to do. Equipment is great and they offer a good variety of machine style equipment and free weights. If you're just starting, I recommend going for a trainer if you can do it. It makes a big difference. Yes, the crowd is older, and there are some in rehabilitation, but I've yet to have a problem getting on equipment and everyone is polite and nice. I'm not surrounded by a ton of physically fit athletes, but I'm not intimidated and it's encouraged me. I had done a water aerobics class which was fun and you really get a workout. I plan on trying some others, but I know I can only do evening ones. Unfortunately, my work ours are such that the day classes are not for me. IF you really want to do classes, I'd review that part as it may not be for you. If you want to do some aerobic equipment and weight lifting equipment and get in and out of a gym and feel like the equipment is well made, I would say this is a great gym for you. The women's locker rooms are nice and clean. Showers are well built with privacy area. Hot tub is really nice and lap pool is gorgeous and big. I'm buying swim fins to try and do laps next. Lots of amenities which I like that a lot of other places don't have like the size of this pool.
