Yes, this is a regular one-stop-shop of the old-fashioned variety, where the owner knows the regulars and will cheerfully point you in the right direction for whatever obscure item you're looking for - and he knows, because he probably ordered it and placed it there himself. I've always had helpful and friendly service whenever I've walked in here - and have actually been pleasantly surprised to discover that I've also never left without the item I was looking for. It may look small, but this shopkeeper seems to have a sixth sense for what his customers will inevitably need.

Don't fear, Rose's was here! Firstly, I was thankful to find somewhere to get keys cut on a Sunday. Secondly, the staff were really nice and they did a fantastic job cutting key copies where other key cutters had failed. I now visit this shop to get all sorts of hardware and home needs. They carry some particularly lethal drain unclogger which is so strong it is sold in a thick plastic bottle within a heavy cardboard box. The guys here are quite helpful, highly recommended shop!

Unfortunately, I didn't bring any serial cables in my bag of tricks on this trip, so finding myself in need of one concern set in quickly. Fortunately, a local colleague told me about Maplin's and suggested we walk over. This - this is what Radio Shack could have (and should have) become in the US. Good inventory of essential items, and staff who can actually help. I'm a fan, and while I hope to not find myself in such dire straits in the future, at least I now know who to turn to for tech supplies while in London.
